  1. Had to splice the model to print it at home first. Best more ever, because as it turned out I added 0.1" somewhere and it wouldn't fit. Fixed the models and printing at home again. Takes about two days to print single model.
  2. Pretty proud of this one. With little to no training managed to create two air-ducts for server enclosure from star tech (this one). Both pieces plug on top where cables would go. All the holes are covered so only air in the enclosure is pushed from filtered ac and air coming out exists from top back exhaust. Front also has vertical stripes on sides so that air pushed in goes all the way to the bottom. Printed product and more pictures coming as soon as I split the models for smaller printer or have someone else print them. Cold air intake port adapted for 5 3/4" tube Exhaust on the back, powered by 3 140mm fans.
  3. The built-in permissions manager is good, but when checking through multiple users and folder for weird cases is very tedious, hence why I was looking for something else. Out of everything I have tried so far, Dell Security Explorer (Trial) is perfect for my scenario. Permissions are visible when folder/file is selected. Copying&pasting permissions is a piece of cake. Not something built-in permissions manager will do. This software is great, but it is targeted towards bigger audience and is not free.
  4. Sorry, left that out by mistake. Win2012R2 server with active directory.
  5. I have been dealing with folder redirection setup that is having odd permission issues. The range of issues is pretty wide, starting from owner not having permissions while other account does, inheritance on some is not applied, some users can't take back ownership or change permissions even though they should be able to based on permissions. Those folders are also replicated across three different servers. Anyhow, what I am after is a tool that could nicely show permissions, have some sort of filtering, and show it all in a nice way. NTFS permissions explorer so to speak. I have already found some, but if anyone has a favorite to vouch in for now is your time. Seems I have left out the most important info. Windows Server 2012 R2 with Active Directory setup.
  6. Small update since I have started using Win10 Enterprise LTSB. Right off the bat there were couple updates, including driver installs. Removed OneDrive and re-enabled default photo viewer. Work just like the edition with all the features, but fresh install takes only around 10GB of space and has ~35 processes running. On standard edition the numbers are quite higher if I am not mistaken. The start menu is nice and clean, no more apps that you never opened in the first place. I would suggest that those holding back on Windows 10 give this edition a try just for the hell of it. See if it feels like good old windows 7.
  7. Again, sorry for making it seem like I was asking about getting it illegally. For those that are interested in trying it, get a trial from microsoft for 90 days from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise
  8. Sorry, I didn't even want to touch on cracking or activating. Everyone has their means, legal or not. What I wanted to discuss is using the cut-down version of the Windows 10 without the features. Would anyone holding back on Windows 10 switch if this was available not for enterprise only, but say for enthusiasts too.
  9. Not gonna lie, only recently I have found out about Enterprise LTSB version of Windows 10. It is not targeted to general use from what I understand since it does not get any features or feature updates, but it will receive all the security updates and such. I installed it on a virtual machine and right now quite tempted to install it on my system. Without getting into whole "Would you upgrade to windows 10" debate, would anyone else dare to try or use Win10 Enterprise LTSB on daily machine? Before someone else points it out, getting it legally is rather troublesome and then even if you do have iso there is no way to activate it with regular windows 10 key. However, you can trial it for 90 days for free. I think I will be backing up my system and giving it a go for couple weeks. Not going to miss a single feature that is offered on the desktop, but at the same time will enjoy the performance that comes with windows 10. Hell even tracking and such is turned off out of the box. Edit: All that needs to be removed after install is OneDrive Edit 2: Also, did I mention no Edge? Just to be clear, I am not suggesting or asking about obtaining Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB illegally. Those with MSDN subscription can get it there, and everyone else can try 90 day trial from microsoft themselves https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise
  10. A part of my new-years resolution is to replace all office workstations with a single model pre-built that also comes with a business service option. Current workstations are all over the place. Some with 2600k/2700k, workstation grade motherboard, but fucking $35 power supply. Others I don't even want to mention. In my eyes switching to single model pre-built will get rid of variations with everyone having same os image and also service can be passed onto someone else with hopefully fast turn-around times. If you are in the field and have a favorite partner please give them a shutout here.
  11. A lot posts about keeping the card, I guess the initial 440$ investment was a food move. Too bad the cooler is crap with one fan completely out.
  12. Back in early 2012 I upgraded from 5870 to XFX 7970 Double D for mere 440$. Seems like it served well for over three years and may be in need of upgrade? Looking at few benchmarks, even R9 380 at $240 seems to be better performer. 390 is a little increase from 380, and even smaller increases from 390 x I stopped following AMD gpus and would like to know if this is a good time to upgrade my 7970. Please keep in mind that I plan on sticking with AMD
  13. I wasn't bitching about Windows 10 because everything was perfect. Until whatever update made this stupid search broken.
  14. Mini rant of mine. Windows 7 start menu was good. Click on start, and look for a program. Windows 8 was as bit of a paint because searching for a program with a mouse was annoying. Luckily there was a search option, which i never used in windows 7. So I got used to a habit of pressing windows on keyboard and starting typing the name of a program I need. Almost always I have got what I needed. This was nice because it (habbit) was useful on windows 7 too. Windows 8.1 is no different than 8, so I kept using Windows key and start typing method. Now comes Windows 10 insider preview. New start is nice, but by now I am used to searching for a program. Luckily it worked through out insider preview like I expected it to. But then the dark times. The release. Ever since the release, the search is just crap. I have sql server management installed. On windows 7, 8, or 8.1 I can easily get to it by pressing windows key and typing sql. Boom! First item in the list. On windows 10, not a chance. Instead there is a web search which is not what I need. Settings comes to the rescue, with couple clicks web search for start is disabled, but wait. The item that I need is not showing up. What is up microsoft?! Why must you brake everything.
  15. I have three monitors in portrait for 3x1 eyefinity. Two on the left are portrait flipped and third is portrait. I could have done them all in portrait, but then cabling would be a bit annoying. I know traded one annoyance with another. Anyhow, I am able to create eyefinity group like I want, but the third monitor is always ending up flipped. Other than rotating monitor physically, I see now way of fixing it. I tried setting third monitor in portrait flipped so that without eyefinity it is flipped, but no bueno. Windows 10 Latest AMD Driver 3x Benw GW2255
