  1. I should mention that the speakers do suck. If you plan on watching Netflix a ton and don't have headphones, laptop speakers or a good aux setup this is not the laptop for you. but that is my only complaint so far.
  2. been daily driving the MSI prestige 15 for 8 months now I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. has a killer battery life and looks sharp ungraded adding a second M.2 ssd for cheap. not as powerful as xps but significantly cheaper for decent performance. Heaviest game I play is red dead redemption two and runs great if you don't need ultra settings also being able to change from loud to quiet modes for performance or general work is nice. I use for solidworks from time to time and hook up to a 3 monitor 720p docking station setup when researching. As an engineering student is has become a great tool. https://www.msi.com/Content-Creation/Prestige-15-A10X
  3. Thanks. I would agree I'll probably end up with whichever I can get the best deal on.
  4. Hey, I'm currently looking for a new laptop to replace my Asus N56JN from 2014. It has served me well although battery has been dead for years and hoping for something with more reliable battery. I've got time holding off to see Black friday and boxing day sales. Light gaming mainly borderlands, rocket leauge and castle crashers used to a Geforce 840m graphics card so most things should be an improvement. Engineering aplications such as solidworks 2017+ and matlab type codeing. I like playing videogames while watching youtube videos on seperate monitors using a docking station which I already have. Nothing to crazy already have two 720p monitors and sometimes connect to a 4k tv although never for gaming. My requirements: 1. Last about 5 years with some upgradability and one battery replacement. (reliable able to take a small beating frequenty) 2. Nvidea gtx 1650 3. Preferably Wi-Fi 6 because why limit yourself when somethings about to get outdated 4. Compatability with new phones I can use an app but would be nice to avoid the clutter if software already comes preinstalled 5. SSD only better if i can just upgrade from a 256GB to 1T myself to save cost. 6. 16GB ram but can live with 8 7. Future ready lets be honest I want as much time as possible out of this rig so there better not be wasted USB gen 2.1 type a slots. 8. Non-touch screen 1080p I want maximum battery life hot keys and typed notes are my jam 9. about 1000-1300USD or 1500CAD but ill wait for sales so as long as base price is below 2000USD Already been price tracking XPS 15 (7590), zenbook 15 UX534 and 533, as well as just noticing MSI Presteige 15. Looking for other good laptop sugestions to track and pesonal experience or advice on those listed. Thanks Mates.
