  1. I need to replace the battery in my iPhone 13, it's battery health is below 80% and it's becoming unusable. Normally I buy parts from iFixIt but they don't have any parts available for the 13, and when I emailed to ask they said the earliest they MIGHT carry parts for it is in April. I also can't order it from the US store cause of regulations in shipping batteries. Does anyone know where else I can source parts for it? Apple charges $115 for a battery replacement but I would rather do it myself and save some money.
  2. I am trying to plan out my home network and need some advice. I live in a 1300 sqft condo and have Telus Gigabit internet. Telus installed their new Wifi 6 router in the living room but the performance has been pretty bad, especially in the bedroom. I was thinking of replacing the Telus wifi with a mesh wifi network, or some other sort of wifi solution. I was looking at the ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 mesh wifi system, but I'm also curious about a Ubiquiti system since Linus and the tech community seem to really like it. The Ubiquiti system system does kind of confuse me though and I'm not sure what items to get and where to put them. I drew out a rough sketch of the layout of my condo and labeled the important items. My gaming PC and TV entertainment system are all hard wired via ethernet. I am using the pass through Ethernet ports for the TV, Xbox, etc and any router that goes there needs to have the ability to pass through an ethernet connection. I have an ethernet cable in the bedroom that runs from the laundry room where the Telus modem is. All of the ethernet cables originate from the laundry room. The ASUS XT9 seems like it would be a simple solution, just plug the main hub in the living room and then put the second unit in the bedroom. I was wondering however if I could use the ethernet port in the bedroom as a backline to make the connection more stable? For Ubiquiti would I use a Dream Router in the living a U6 mesh in the bedroom?
  3. Oh I'm picking up what you are putting down. His parents are paying for this and they don't care about the price of this build so I don't have any problem with going with OEM license.
  4. Why not OEM? I normally buy the retail USB edition but Memory Express doesn't have any in stock.
  5. I'm building a custom gaming computer for my gf's brother and was going to put Windows 10 on it but he wants to know if Windows 11 will be able to run on it. I know that custom computers and Windows 11 is a big grey area right now so I'm looking for some guidance on. This is the build
  6. I bought some CableMod cables for my Seasonic Prime 1300W Gold PSU however my PSU died on me a few days before the cables arrived. I went to Memory Express and bought another Seasonic PSU right away so I could get back up and running and would deal with the RMA after that since it's over 2 years old and Memory Express won't do the RMA for me. The cables arrive and I go to install them but I got the urge to make sure they would still work with the new PSU. I then realized that my new PSU is a "Prime GX-1300" vs my old one is a "Prime Gold 1300". I do some digging and it turns out that Seasonic changed the "Prime Gold 1300" to "Prime GX-1300". I go to CableMods configurator and see that they have both options available to pick from. So now I'm worried that my CableMod cables are going to fry my system if I use them with the new PSU. What should I do? On both boxes the have identical "Safety Model Name" of "SSR-1300GD Active PFC F3" does that mean anything?
  7. I have a 3090 that I liquid cooled myself using an EK Block. It's been running just fine for over two months until today. Last night I turned off my PC and when I turned it on this morning there was no display on my monitor. I tired swapping cables and monitors but still no display. I tired removing the CMOS battery and that didn't work either. I plugged in a different GPU into my PC and that worked just fine. I tried swapping out the riser for the 3090 (it's vertically mounted and the water cooling tubing won't let me plug directly into the PCIe slot) and that didn't work either. I don't know what else to try at this point. I'm starting to think that the GPU just died cause of the water block. Does anyone know if EVGA will still honor the warranty? System specs: EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090 with EK Water block Ryzen 5900X ASUS x570-E Seasonic 1300W PSU
  8. Yeah I used the new riser that came with the holder. I got the Phanteks PH-VGPUKT. The riser is PCIe Gen 3 and both the MOBO and GPU are Gen 4 but I read that shouldn't matter. Okay I tried that and it's work now. Do you know why this happened?
  9. I installed a vertical GPU holder last night and when I turned on my PC I was unable to get an image to load on my monitor. Everything lights up, the RGB on the GPU, MOBO, and fans. I uninstalled it and put the GPU back directly into the PCIe slot and I continued to have the same issue. I tired installing it in the second PCIe slot which has never been used, also didn't work. I took the 1080 out of my old PC (which is working) put it in my new one and still the same issue in both PCIe slots. I also tried reseating the RAM just to make sure. I don't know what the issue is, everything was working fine before I installed the vertical holder. PC specs: Ryzen 5900x 3090 FTW3 Ultra Asus x570E MOBO 1300 Watt PSU
  10. Yeah I also had the 4+4 pins in. Neither the lights on the side or the display at the bottom turned on. The RGB for the cooler/pump also didn’t turn on when I tried to start it so no power was being delivered. I have already packed it up and am taking to memory express tomorrow, I bought the in-store replacement so I should be able to get it swapped quickly
  11. No luck with that, the LED display also doesn’t light up. I’m assuming this is a DOA
  12. Which ones are the CMOS pins? Nothing powers on so I can’t access the BIOS
  13. Yeah I tried touching the power pins with a screw driver and nothing happened
  14. I just finished a new build but I can’t figure out why it wont turn on. When turn on the PSU the RGB on the MOBO turns on but when I press the power button nothing happens. I took the MOBO out and placed it on the box and plugged in just the 24 & pin connectors, only 1 stick of RAM and no graphics card and jumped the power switch on the MOBO but nothing happened. I tested the PSU with the paper clip test and it works. I tired the RAM out on my old PC and no issues. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. How do I know if it’s a faulty MOBO? Build specs: Asus X570-E Ryzen 5900X Seasonic 1300W PSU Ballistics 3600MHZ RAM Corsair H150i AIO
  15. I'm looking to buy a water cooler for my build, but I don't know what I should get/be looking for. I have an Asus x570-E and a Lian Li O11D Dynamic XL. What would a good pick be for that set up?
  16. So from my understanding having a lower CL is better than having a higher RAM speed. So a 3200Mhz CL16 is better than a 3600Mhz CL18. Is that correct? Cause from what I see on Memory Express all of their 3600Mhz RAM have a CL18. (I could look on NewEgg but I just want to clear this up first).
  17. I plan on buying a Ryzen 7 5800x when it is released and I already purchased a 3090 (still waiting for it to show up though). I want to upgrade my RAM as well to 32GB but I can't decide which model to get. I was looking at the Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 16GB) & the HyperX Fury RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 16GB). They have the same specs and I can't really find an article that compares the two. Which one is better? I also currently have a 1000W power supply and was wondering if I should be looking to upgrade that as well. Looking at the specs of the 3090 & 5800X it seems like 1000W should be enough but I'm worried that maybe it won't be.
  18. Is the ROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA worth the extra money compared to the STRIX X570-E? I bought a 3090 and plan on buying a new Ryzen chip (either Ryzen 7 or 9). Is the only difference the extra IO and faster LAN?
  19. I currently have a Samsung 55NU7400 that I won through work a year ago and I bought a Samsung HW-MS650 sound bar to go with it. I have run into the issue of not having enough HDMI ports on the TV (It only has 3) and I have to constantly unplug and plug things back in. I know a receiver can potentially solve this problem but I want to avoid creating a convoluted multi-remote nightmare. Are there any suggestions of how to create a nice streamlined system with lots of HDMI ports?
  20. So if I am able to get a founders card on Nvidia's website should I pick that over a third party card? I know in the past third party cards were preferred over founders card. Is that the same thing here?
  21. I want to purchase a 3090 on launch date this week. What is the best way to make sure I get one? I put down my email on NVidia's website to notify me but does anyone know what time sales go live? Also would it be recommended to purchase a Founders Edition card or third party? I live in Calgary so lining up at a Micro Center isn't an option for me lol
  22. I recently bought a Samsung CRG9 and I can't decide on a monitor arm for it. I was looking at the Ergotron LX but it says it's maximum monitor size is 32. It says that it's weight capacity is 11.3 kg and the monitor weighs 11.6 kg. Can I get away with using it? Or is there a better option?
  23. Budget (including currency): Not an issue Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: After Affects, Premiere, Audition, Illustrator for Programs. I play a lot of Overwatch and some VR games occasionally I have recently started to get back into making animated videos and plan on doing some freelance stuff as well once I shake the rust off. I've been doing some work in After Affects and my current PC is struggling to keep up. I've been considering upgrade to a Ryzen 9 set up but I'm wondering if it's better to wait until the 4000 series chips launch. Same thing with NVIDA's next gen graphics cards. Here is my current build: Intel i5 - 7600K GTX 1080 16GB of RAM Here is what I've been looking to upgrade to: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Asus ROG Strix X570-E EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra Gaming, Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series - 2Tb PCIe NVMe (This is on-sale so I figured I would buy it)
  24. I am currently running Prism by GraphPad and SPSS on my laptop for school. I got cracked version from a co-worker so I didn't have to pay for them because they are expensive and I'm a poor student. I have to send my current to Dell to get repaired and they are going to wipe it clean meaning I will lose those programs. The coworker that I got the program from no longer lives in the same city so I can't get another copy. Is there a way I can copy it to my other laptop or to a usb stick so I can re-install it once I get my laptop back from Dell?
