  1. Is the ROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA worth the extra money compared to the STRIX X570-E? I bought a 3090 and plan on buying a new Ryzen chip (either Ryzen 7 or 9). Is the only difference the extra IO and faster LAN?
  2. I currently have a Samsung 55NU7400 that I won through work a year ago and I bought a Samsung HW-MS650 sound bar to go with it. I have run into the issue of not having enough HDMI ports on the TV (It only has 3) and I have to constantly unplug and plug things back in. I know a receiver can potentially solve this problem but I want to avoid creating a convoluted multi-remote nightmare. Are there any suggestions of how to create a nice streamlined system with lots of HDMI ports?
  3. So if I am able to get a founders card on Nvidia's website should I pick that over a third party card? I know in the past third party cards were preferred over founders card. Is that the same thing here?
  4. I want to purchase a 3090 on launch date this week. What is the best way to make sure I get one? I put down my email on NVidia's website to notify me but does anyone know what time sales go live? Also would it be recommended to purchase a Founders Edition card or third party? I live in Calgary so lining up at a Micro Center isn't an option for me lol
  5. I recently bought a Samsung CRG9 and I can't decide on a monitor arm for it. I was looking at the Ergotron LX but it says it's maximum monitor size is 32. It says that it's weight capacity is 11.3 kg and the monitor weighs 11.6 kg. Can I get away with using it? Or is there a better option?
  6. Budget (including currency): Not an issue Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: After Affects, Premiere, Audition, Illustrator for Programs. I play a lot of Overwatch and some VR games occasionally I have recently started to get back into making animated videos and plan on doing some freelance stuff as well once I shake the rust off. I've been doing some work in After Affects and my current PC is struggling to keep up. I've been considering upgrade to a Ryzen 9 set up but I'm wondering if it's better to wait until the 4000 series chips launch. Same thing with NVIDA's next gen graphics cards. Here is my current build: Intel i5 - 7600K GTX 1080 16GB of RAM Here is what I've been looking to upgrade to: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Asus ROG Strix X570-E EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra Gaming, Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series - 2Tb PCIe NVMe (This is on-sale so I figured I would buy it)
  7. I am currently running Prism by GraphPad and SPSS on my laptop for school. I got cracked version from a co-worker so I didn't have to pay for them because they are expensive and I'm a poor student. I have to send my current to Dell to get repaired and they are going to wipe it clean meaning I will lose those programs. The coworker that I got the program from no longer lives in the same city so I can't get another copy. Is there a way I can copy it to my other laptop or to a usb stick so I can re-install it once I get my laptop back from Dell?
  8. I want to get Jedi Fallen Order but I don't know if I should get it for PC or XBox One. I play on PC and my girlfriend plays on XBox and we don't want to buy two copies of the game. I haven't been able to find any reviews comparing console vs PC. Does anyone have any input?
  9. I am looking to purchase a new monitor. I do content creation (video editing), gaming, watch sports (hockey mainly) and a lot of productivity work. I am thinking with an ultra wide monitor but I also want it to be 120hz 1440p with good color accuracy. My current monitor is a 27inch 1440p 60hz IPS display. I use Display Port and have a GTX 1080 in my computer so power isn't an issue. I was looking into the Alienware AW3418DW but wanted to see if there were any other options. Not too concerned about price since I'm basically looking for something with very little compromises. Any other suggestions?
  10. I'm using an ASUS Prime Z270-A LGA1151 motherboard. I'm not sure if it has a built in slot for bluetooth/wifi though
  11. I am looking to add Bluetooth to my desktop. I built it a few just over a year ago but I didn't use a motherboard that came with Bluetooth due to price. I tried using a Avantree USB Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter Dongle but I find the range to be pretty short and the audio quality to be terrible. I know that wireless sound isn't as good as wired but the Bluetooth from my phone and iPad are way better than the dongle. Are there other solutions that anyone would recommend? I need it to last me few years until I can justify upgrade the components in my PC.
