Better to rightclick the existing C partition and expand it so you wont get another partition, but thats indeed whats going on.

You can't enlarge C  because that Recovery  partition is right new to it.

You need to use a partition manager software to move the Recovery partition all the way to the right.
After you do this, the black "Unallocated" area will be near the C partition and you'll be able to enlarge the C partition to the maximum

So it's most likely two steps you have to do.

I don't know what software is best to use these days.

No, non will be in dual channel. You can try A1 / B1, to run in dual channel

For the price of a 1440p monitor, you could grab an RX 5700 (You could sell your 1060 for the boost to an XT)... That would be a solid upgrade.

Depends entirely on the games you play on a daily basis. Screw owning a NVMe period. Not having 16GB total is pretty much a no-no in 2019. A 1060 6GB is pretty much the bare minimum for a fairly decent 1440p gaming experience. If your CPU is great then you're set for 1440p imo but don't expect really high frame rates. If you can get a GSync 1440p 144 Hz monitor, I say go for it. I have zero regrets with mine. The 1ms response time is excellent as well. Try not to go higher than 4-6ms(at most).

To be honest, with that GPU, a 1440p 75 Hz monitor is what I would go for. You can get a 27" 4ms one for around just $210. It might not have GSync but it might very well be IPS. That's a great trade off imo. 75 fps is when fps starts to "feel" good and IPS monitors "pop" imo.

Use the 1440p as your desktop main monitor and get rid of the 1080p.  A 1060 will not impress you at 1440p.  You will get nice frame drops below 60fps that throw your game off and what not.  Also good idea grab the RAM and M.2 for sure.  Since now this is the case I would keep the 1440p monitor and use that resolution on your desktop and when gaming just change it to 1080p in the game.  good luck

NVME will add nothing if your looking for a graphics upgrade, only affects edge case load times. It’s mostly just a nice to have.

Far better to have a higher capacity SATA SSD.

16GB RAM however is useful, take care to get the right speed, depending if your Intel or AMD.

1440p does need some graphical horsepower but it depends on your target framerates and in what games.

I looked into it and decided against 1440p and went to 1080 144hz. £400 for monitor and GPU vs £1400 for my use case, no brainier really.
