  1. The monitor I had before this was an Alienware OptX AW2210. It was a 60Hz TN panel (great viewing angles for a TN) with 1080p resolution and 2ms GTG response time. To be perfectly honest, I noticed no difference in input lag what so ever. On a daily basis I play GTA V, CS:GO and some simulators. Hope this helps dude
  2. Online retailer here has a used/open box section. Got a few laptops, some components and this monitor and 90% of that wasn't even opened. Still get warranty and all Yeah, just waiting for Win 10 however not sure if I want to go to the trouble of reinstalling everything again
  3. I got this brand new from a retailer here for €380. It normally costs €800+ I like the size + GTA V in 4K with med settings looks real nice
  4. I mean it's not an issue. All games I tried do seem to run @ 4K + I don't mind the way Windows looks as it's actually usable Thanks anyway
  5. Yep! I can run GTA V on medium settings at 4K with frames above 40FPS at all times. I mean it's basically a R9 280x + it's overclocked
  6. Ok. It's just something that caught my eye. I wonder if the adapter has something to do with it though. I ran a friends PC on my monitor and when it booted it was actually running at 4K because everything was super tiny. I'm not going to complain because I obvioulsy prefer the scaled look (as I can actually see something) but I don't want to be wasting a potential of a 4K screen.
  7. Hey guys. I have an Asus PB279Q monitor. It's a 27" 4K IPS panel and is an awesome monitor to have! When I have it hooked up to my PC, the windows resolution is set to 3840x2160 however everything seems to be slightly bigger as if it was running at 2560x1440. I opened up speccy and a website (whatismyscreenresolution.com) and both say I am running at 2560x1440. I checked both Windows res as well as settings through AMD Catalyst. I do however run GTA V @ 4K without a problem. Do you think it's a driver issue? I am using a DP cable with DP to mini DP adapter to go into my HD7950. I'm running at 60Hz. Windows 8.1 64-bit
  8. The card is 2 years old + he bought it used so I don't think that is an option.
  9. Tried card on a 650, 750 and 800 PSU. My 7950 works fine in all those PC's. I went as far as installing the reference cooler back and yes, fan is plugged in.
  10. I did and that's what gets us. I tried the card in 3 computers, all had different version of Catalyst and it just didn't work. I mean the card was absolutely fine up until I took it out for a cooler swap.
  11. Hey guys. To the point! Friend bought a Corsair HG10 + H100iGTx for his reference R9 290. He asked me to install it for him since I work with computers. I went over to his place and got to work. I grounded myself and started by taking out the 290 and disassembling it. After I took apart the entire card, I cleaned it up, removed old thermal paste, attached the new HG10, new thermal paste and installed the H100iGTx. We then installed the card back into his pc. Booted past bios, then windows loading screen and then it just went black. I pulled the entire PC apart and basically checked everything. Tried booting with second bios switch position with no luck. Even tried swapping in my 7950 and it works without any issues. I also went into safe mode and in device manager I can see the card listed as R9 200 series. I can uninstall the driver, reboot into Windows and it works up until I re-install AMD driver and reboot. Then it goes black again. Thanks for any help in advance!
  12. It is running Windows 8.1 but that doesn't matter since it won't even get to BIOS with both sticks installed.
  13. My friend has an older machine with DDR2 ram so I'll have to try it out. It's weird though, I can take the 1GB stick and it works in both slots but the minute both slots are occupied at the same time it just doesn't do anything.
