  1. the guy that "tested" it in the pc store made a partition on it and it worked fine for him so im strating to think that maybe windows is trying to load old drivers and its not working becouse of that and the grinding noise is becouse that hdd is trying to initialize and it cant and its stuck in the initializing step, tomorrow im gonna check every sata port and i know that the sata cable is good becouse i bought a brand new one
  2. its a brand new hdd and before this one i had a toshiba p300 hdd and my boot drive is a crucial mx500 and the toshiba p300 hdd worked for 2 years and 1 month (warranty was for only 2 years) after which it started grinding and not posting
  3. well i can`t check it with CrystalDiskInfo or anything as my pc dosen`t want to post with the hdd installed, and the model is seagate baracuda
  4. he also used a adapter that gave the drive, power from the wall and it was connected to a laptop via usb
  5. So i thought i got a dead hdd becouse it wasn`t detected by windows and i brought it back to the pc store where i bought it and luckly he could check it on the spot and it worked, but now when i get back home it is still not working (and i can hear a grinding noise) and my main drive couldn`t load windows when it was installed but without it, it loaded normally. BTW my last hdd failed and i want to ask could this issue be related to it.
  6. one was packed with as little bubble wrap they could use and the box had a hole that looked like somebody scored a goal with it, the second one was wraped up nice and was secure in the box but still it is dead, this whole experience made me decide that i will just buy a ssd.
  7. So my hdd (toshiba p300) failed after 2 years and 1 month, then i bought a new seagate baracuda 1 tb which was dead on arrival, and yesterday i bought a new toshiba p300 which also is dead, am i really unlucky or is it common to get a hard drive that is dead. btw i have a new sata cable so i know that isn`t the problem, but the problem is they are grinding when are turned on.
  8. I want to know what u think about the rival 5 after using it, did you find any problems, is it accurate, and would you reccomend it to someone.
  9. Its weird that it would die after only 2 years, but it could be possible and also i will probably just buy a new HDD to not risk this happening again, i have no other pc to plug it in to and i didn`t have any important data on that drive becouse it was only for games.
  10. So yesterday i was playing games and using by PC normally and today i turn my PC on and it didn´t want to load windows, restarted it 4 time and it loaded windows (its on my main SSD drive) and I was surprised because when I started steam and wanted to update a game (that was on my HDD) it said a disk write error then I tried to open anything on that HDD and it always failed, so after that I opened disk info 64 (crystal disk info) and when I selected my SSD it said everything was all right and it is healthy and when I chose my HDD my PC started to not respond and I had to restart it. I am wondering if my HDD just died overnight (and also it was making a quiet clicking noise) i took that HDD out of the PC to not risk corrupting my C drive.
  11. You could always buy a prebuild that has a good GPU and sell the rest of the system but make sure if you are buying a prebuild that the GPU is made by someone who knows what they are doing and not one that has a cheap cooler that won`t cool it,
  12. I just checked my psu and it doesn`t smell like that, i also checked my gpu, cpu, and my fan hub and it isn`t any of them so i have it narrowed down to the fans, when i first took them out of the box the smelled the same but i was wandering if the smell should go away, and it only smells on startup could it be that overnight the smell of those fans just stays in the case and when i turn on the fans and the air start flowing again it releases the smell out of the case.
  13. So about 2 weeks ago i bought a 5 pack of arctic p12 fans and they run great but at the startup of my pc there is a new plastic/ burnt plastic smell coming from my pc after a minute it goes away and i wonder if i should worry about that or just leave it be and its normal.
  14. I did the same i bought 5 new arctic p12 fans and a mesh front panel and the temps droped from 83C to 70
  15. So I got a 5 pack of arctic p12 fans and I thought they would come ready to be daisy chained but they didn't and I have this fan hub from my old RGB fans and I wonder if I can use it with the p12 fans
