I always disable fastboot in Win 10 power options. I've run across problems with software and peripherals failing to function with fastboot enabled.

Floatplane.com is in it's Alpha testing stage. If you subscribed to it, you should be able to also access the floatplane section here on the forums also(I think). You can access Floatplane.com if you subscribe to floatplane here on the forum.

Unable to Install Asus Ai Suite 3/ Asus Aura Problems
mmk replied to Kolldog's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I think that AI Suite was broken, but Aura should work. I also have Prime Z370-A mb and Aura works and I can control the mb leds but unfortunately my GPU is a Gigabyte and is not compatible with Aura. No RGB fans or memory either.- 2 replies

Aren't the cpu's usually soldered onto the motherboard in laptops which is going to make it pretty difficult to change unless you have great soldering skills!

Have you checked if there is a bios update for your board. I thought that originally there were memory problems with the amd threadripper boards when they first came out and needed a bios update to be able to run memory at their rated speeds??

Dumb question, did your friend put the Windows Media Creation tool on the usb drive or did he use the tool to download windows and create a bootable installation for windows on the usb drive? You need to do the latter in order to create bootable installation media. If he did do the latter, then follow what manikyath said above.

Windows 10 - External Hardrive icon not showing values for space used
mmk replied to Travercraig's topic in Windows
Go to view and choose 'Tiles' , see if that fixes it. When I choose 'Tiles', it even shows the used and free space in my NAS.- 3 replies

Capacitor ripped off of motherboard
mmk replied to Dash_Gardner's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
If you can't find a compatible cap, you may be hooped. how many sticks of ram do you have, have you tried moving your ram into different dimm slots on the board just in case that cap may specific to only to one of the dimm slots and the board may work if you move the ram into the different dimm slots?? -
For my recent build, 8700K and Gigabyte 1080Ti Game OC, I used and EVGA SuperNova 850W G3 80+ Gold.

You look here yet?

OK, maybe put in one of the original sticks, set the bios to default, and then start testing one stick at a time in each slot to see if you may have a bad stick or maybe a bad slot.

Do you have the memory speed set manually? If so, change it back to auto so that it will run at the speed of the slower ram and see if that works.

Go to Sound in control panel and see if the installation changed some of the settings from their default settings and change them back. -

Did you try removing the 1060 and then starting the computer up again to see what happens? Was the computer off when you plugged in the 1060, sounds like it was on but in sleep mode. -
They will not accept cash unless it is an in store purchase, you will have to pay for it before it will be built and shipped. Why not 'build your computer' at NCIX and go through the process of checking out, choose international shipping and it will show you how much the shipping will be. You don't have to finish the process unless you decide to buy it, but it will show you how much it will cost and how much the shipping will be. You can cancel at any time before you do the final submission to purchase the computer. Your computer may come in 2 pieces as domestically, they will usually ship the computer in one box and all the empty boxes from the hardware you purchased in another box in case of needing to RMA any of the hardware. Not sure if they will do the empty hardware boxes on international orders in order to save on shipping charges. You will be responsible for any import duties or taxes when it arrives in your country.

The Floatplane Club - Introduction Letter (Nov 1, 2016)
mmk replied to LinusTech's topic in LTT Releases
I guess that makes sense if you do monthly, too bad that they can't have the option for yearly subscriptions which is what I want to do. Just manually renew once a year. -

I think that Paypal was used as an intermediary to collect the money. Do not have a paypal account but it went via paypal. I think that method was used also when I paid LMG for the First Blood and Office Builder donations. (could be wrong on this?) -

@nicklmg @LinusTech Why do i have to create a Paypal account?? Trying to sign up for Float Plane Club and it requires a Paypal account. I have made many purchases online via Paypal with just a credit card and not needing a Paypal account. -
Been over a week now, and I also have yet to receive a refund. @nicklmg UPDATE: Just got notice that it has been received in my VISA account.

Only have a couple of WD external drives connected to my router. Don't think that is related to the WD drives, here is someone else who is having a similar problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/kb-3189866/a41d1cc6-a87d-4d37-82c5-9010968abd58?rtAction=1473951775113 Might have to change all my logins to local accounts so I can access the drives. Not sure if there is any really great benefits to using the MS login short of not being able to go to the MS store..?

KB3189866 from the latest updates for win10 seems to have broken the ability to map to my external drives, a WD MyBookWorld. Out of 3 systems, 2 have this problem where the systems can no longer reconnect to the networked drives. Disconnecting then try to map to the drives again does not work, just get error messages. Seems like it may be a problem with using a MS account to logon to the systems. The one system that was not affected uses a local logon. Removed the update from my laptop, then changed the logon from a MS logon to a local logon and was able to map to my drives again and was able to install the update again and had no problem with mapping the drives. Any one else experiencing this problem and if so, found any solution for it short of changing to using local logon instead of a MS logon?
