  1. Most likely you may have received a defective unit. I only buy APC brand ups's so am not familiar with the brands you mentioned. As for shelf life, they should be able to sit on the shelf for quite some time before the batteries will go bad. I have purchased units that were over a year old when I got them and they worked fine. (all mine are 1500 VA) One of my ups's is close to 10 years old and still works fine, though I have had to replace the batteries a couple of times on it as the batteries usually will last only 3-5 years before requiring replacement.
  2. Make sure you are plugged into the battery backed side of the ups. Many ups's will have some of the plugs hooked directly to the main power, so when power goes out, they go out also, while the other plugs of the ups will have battery back up. If you are hooked to the backed up side of the ups, then you may have a bad battery in the ups

  4. Those are usually pretty standard type of power cable. Usually for most power supplies and most monitors that do not use a power brick. Just get one that has the standard plug for your country that goes to the wall.

    No display

The 9600 does not have an integrated gpu, you will to add a separate video card to get display out.
  7. Does the keyboard work normally after it finally boots up though?
  8. Open Control Panel through Window System folder in the start menu. Right click on Sound and drag to your desktop and choose 'create shortcut'.
  9. Is this some thing that has started recently? By any chance are you using a LTT mouse pad?
  10. Maybe check in the bios and check the boot order there. Maybe adding the new drive has changed the boot order, change it back to the correct drive for the system to boot from.
  11. Same here. Looked like it downloaded some, then installed it, then did another download and started installing it also. Can't remember exactly how far it got on the install, but it asked to reboot, during the reboot it did some more installing before it blue screened with some error code, then continued to un-install what it had installed, and back to win10.
  12. Make sure your ethernet is also enabled in the bios.
  13. What wavem2 said. I have a 8700K also on an Asus Z370 Prime board. Mine indicated that it was not compatible also until I changed the setting from 'Discrete TPM' to firmware TPM. In my case the setting was under PCH Configuration/ PCH-FW Configuration in the bios.
  14. Make sure the power button is not stuck in the on position. Had that happen to one of my systems, all of a sudden it started looping. It would turn on then shut down, then turn on...continuously. Found that the power button on the case got stuck in the on position on the case.
  15. I agree with @sarptekbas. I only use APC ups's. I've tried other brands because they were cheaper, but most of them, the battery would die without any warning, and only find out when the power has gone out and every thing has shut off. I have about 6 units, all APC's and have only had to change batteries about every 3-5 years on them, and they will notify you when they detect that the batteries are starting to die.
  16. Have you seen Linus's review yet, though he doesn't compare to the 1070 but to the 2060/2070's?
  17. Not knowing which MB you have, I would guess that 23 is the power switch as it indicates BOOT, but I could be wrong?
  18. That doesn't look like a Canada Post tracking number. Should be either 11, 12, 13 or 16 digit number. You have 18? https://www.canadapost.ca/web/en/kb/details.page?article=learn_about_tracking&cattype=kb&cat=receiving&subcat=tracking
  19. I've had this problem a few times. All I did was in device manager, any of the usb ports that had the exclamation mark, I would tell device manager to remove/uninstall it then reboot. Seemed to fix the problem.
  20. Sorry, you are right, not a deal, but made mistake for the bundle price. Over all price is: New charges Home Phone $0.34 Internet $75.00 TELUS TV $90.00 GST / HST $8.27 PST $9.82 Total new charges..................................................................$183.43 Bandwidth is 1TB/month.
  21. BC, Canada. 300/300 for $75 CDN/month with TV, phone bundle. ( Overall bundle price is $165 CDN)
  22. Pretty sure that they won't have any traces that close to the edge and you can see that the contacts are a fair bit away from that corner also.
  23. I would hazard a guess and say that if it is working fine, that you are OK and probably will not get a shortened life on the cpu.
