  1. All I need to know is if the ssd will break. When you say reinstall everything, do you mean the drive will be wiped?
  2. The old system has an i7 3rd gen, gt930 or something idek, motherboard unknown The new system has a ryzen 5 1600af, gtx 1060 6gb, 500w psu, Asrock b450m pro4 motherboard
  3. Just finished my new system and I was planning on just putting my laptop ssd into the desktop. but, after doing some research, apparently there are bad things that could happen if I do so such as deactivation. The laptop's hardware is pretty old like 3rd gen processor and a gt series gpu, but the ssd I put in myself to replace the older, slower hard drive. Does anyone know how I could do a transfer if possible and would I be able to keep all games and files on my ssd when I use it on my desktop. Thanks!
  4. Do you know if I would even be able to put my gtx 1060 in the mother boards? Right now I am looking at this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Supermicro-X8SIA-F-Intel-Xeon-X3400-L3400-Core-i3-LGA1156-ATX-Motherboard/372618671888?epid=82123756&hash=item56c1cdb710:g:d2sAAOSw6GhcfcFo with the same core. everything else I would put in an atx case. is there any ram out there you could recommend me getting?
  5. I'd get those cpus, but my budget is 200$. I've already tried putting together a cheaper verison of what you reccomend, but it won't hit a price point below 250$. The cpu I am looking to use is https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-E5-2670-Eight-Core-2-60GHz-20MB-8GT-s-LGA2011-SR0KX-Server-Processor/192878675540 and if the mother board would be too expensive, should I just get a prebuilt like this one and put the cpu in? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Precision-T3600-Desktop-Computer-Intel-Xeon-E5-8GB-RAM-500GB-HDD-Windows-10/193352339520?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144
  6. The description and title of this ram says a specific computer model. Can you put this ram in any other model of computer or is it just exclusive to the model that was mentioned? https://www.ebay.com/itm/32GB-2x-16GB-Dell-PowerEdge-T320-T420-T610-T620-Memory-RAM-DDR3-PC3-8500-ECC-REG/321774526873
  7. I recently posted on forums that I had bought a gtx 1060 for 60 bucks and my budget for the rest of my pc is 200 bucks. Some of the replies mentioned that the Intel Xeon E5-2670 is a great high performance cpu that can take lots of ram. I'm pretty new to this type of stuff so I have no idea what I am doing and what types of things I should be buying to support the cpu and graphics card. Another thing I am worried about is if the system that I build with these older components can run modern day games with or if there would be issues. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  8. Is there anyway I could buy the intel xeon and put in a mother board is is more modern, or does it have to be older?
  9. Won't the cpu in the optiplex get bottlenecked?
  10. Just won bidding for a gtx 1060 6gb on ebay for 60$ on accident, have like 200 bucks left, I needa build a pc. Anyone that knows any good deals please lol. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. Need some advice on what parts to get. Anything helps <3.
  11. I have a gtx 1060, ryzen 5 1600, 16gb ram, and need a power supply. Is 400 watts enough? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LV8TZAG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  12. I am probably going to buy a powersupply for around 25$ for midweek madness which would cut 40$ giving my just enough space to fit the ryzen cpu for 85$
