  1. Thank you for the replies ! No it's the charger that came with my previous phone. So basically I would only have longer charging times but no other issues then ?
  2. Hello, Basically, the title is my question. I'm looking forward to buy a S21+, but since they don't provide chargers anymore, I was wondering if I could still use my old SONY charger/cable to charge it, or if I had to buy a charger too. Thank you.
  3. Thanks for your reply too. Well, the thing is I don't recall doing anything. I use the computer on a daily basis and I did not even update anything. I remember watching a movie on one screen (I have a dual-screen setup) when I was distracted by all the icons on the desktop the other screen were "refreshing" every 10 seconds and I opened the task manager and saw it coresponded to a little rise in Disk and CPU Usage every 10 seconds. I restarted the PC, noticed I had no acces to certain websites (Reddit...) while others were fine (Youtube, Facebook...). I ran some scans but nothing was found. I was told to reinstall Windows which I did. And then this problem started happening. Well, not only, it can happen on a cold start too, but it is more frequent when it's warm. Also, I have no problem (when it wants to boot) to use it for hours even doing intensive tasks like video editing. And then when I download something it can crash... That's why I thought it could be a controller/chipset issue (as different SSDs as only boot drives did not change anything). Could it really be the power supply though ? Wouldn't it freeze when the system is under heavy load ? And I don't know about the memory, since Memtest was completed with no errors and the testing one stick at a time did not change anything. I'm lost frankly. That's why I wonder if I should get a new board and if it could solve the problem.
  4. Just tried that ! The same problem still appeared everytime... Oh, and the CPU or the RAM were never overclocked.
  5. By dduing you mean using Display Driver Uninstall right ? So I just did that and after the reboot I had exactly the same problem...
  6. Really ? Memtest saying 0 errors does not mean it is fine then ? No, everyone is just using laptops or older systems... I'm stuck on this side...
  7. Uh, I'm a bit lost. There was no problem for both tests on this system, why would the same RAM in another system have problems ? Also, I don't have another DDR4 system available sadly...
  8. Update : I tried to run Linux from a USB drive, but it wont boot at all. It loops and I get an error message everytime. Tried to flash the BIOS, did not work either... Well, any ideas of what could be causing the problem ? Could it be the MB ? Thanks.
  9. Alright, so I went ahead and did a memtest. I left everything by default, it did 4 passes (took around 4 hours) with 0 errors at the end. For OCCT, it's been running for almost 2 hours with no errors detected so far too. PS : after the memtest when booting to Windows I had the same bug where no program would start and Windows would freeze instantly when the desktop appears. I forgot to mention on my original post that the problem occurs really often when rebooting windows (more rare on a cold boot).
  10. Thanks for the fast reply ! About the specs : MB : MSI B350 Tomahawk CPU : Ryzen 5 1600 RAM : 16GB of some Ballistix 2400MHz SSD : Samsung 860EVO 500GB GPU : 1060 6GB Is OCCT alone enough or do I have to run a memtest (which I never did) ?
  11. Hello ! I'm having an issue and can't figure out the problem. My PC seemed to randomly "freeze" (windows does not respond, can't close or open programs, can't reboot or shut down...). I was told to reinstall Windows, which I did but it did not fix the problem. Even on a fresh install and with only my SSD plugged in, it does this weird thing. When it happens, I have to shut the pc down manually. Things that seems to trigger the "freeze" : - When a download is almost complete and the file is being "reconstituted" (sorry if it's not the right word) - When installing a program So, I thought of a disk problem. As it is the same SSD as before, I thought the problem could come from it then. I tried with another SSD but the same problem appears. Now, I was wondering if this could come from the motherboard or something ? I don't know anymore ! If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me ! Thanks !
  12. Update : I was trying to see if I could find a recovery software that could see the drive, and when searching I kept it plugged in. And after several minutes the drive showed up automatically and a new window opened with everything still on it. I guess I should be backing up my stuff then ! Yeah I thought about that too for a moment, but I did not manage to open it. It's a 2,5" too. But hey, I guess I got kind of lucky with that one ! Thanks for your answers guys !
  13. Well it's around a year old now, and there is a ton of photos on it I would prefer not to loose. I can't see it in the partition manager, and not even in the file explorer anymore. Nothing shows up anywhere.
  14. Hello, I'm having a problem with my Seagate Expansion. When I plug it (tried it with my desktop and 2 laptops, same result) I hear the disk spinning, the light is on, Windows detects the drive, I can see the remaining space on it in the file explorer, BUT I can't access it. It wont let me open it, it "loads" forever. Nothing happens and I ultimately have to unplug it. Is it dead or is there a way to get an access back ? Thank you guys.
  15. Thanks for the reply ! How can I test read/writes failures ? (The disk Health is "excellent" according to SSDLife). I will try to replace the sata cable. I also noticed it does not freeze systematically on start-up, but does it everytime when I reboot the system...
  16. Hello ! I already posted yesterday but my problem has evolved. My PC was acting weirdly (refreshing icons on the desktop, not reaching only certain websites...). So I went ahead and reinstalled windows to go from a fresh system. Well, when starting Windows, I get stuck for several minutes with nothing at all responding. If I wait long enough the screen goes black and I can use the PC, but no program start (my antivirus does not launch, discord does not launch, etc : I have to launch them manually). I have never seen this problem before and cant find anything similar. What could it possibly be ? I thought of a disk problem, I unplugged everything except for my ssd and it is still happening. I really could use some help. Thanks !
  17. Well, here I go again. The same problem is back : not connecting on discord/steam/reddit... About the Event Viewer, I dont really understand everything, but I see that under "error" there are 96 disk related in the last hour ? Also, I ran another deeper analysis with Malwarebytes and it has been analyzing for 10 hours so far. Is it normal for it to take this long ?
  18. In safe mode everything seems to be fine. After testing in safe mode, I rebooted normally and everything is running as nothing ever happened. No problem in sight. Could this just have been a bug, or do I have to worry ? I have to admit that it bothers me... Edit : what is the event viewer ? I dont know how to use it.
  19. Hello ! I'm having a problem on my PC. I was watching a video when I noticed that on my desktop, the icons kept disapearing and appearing again, as if it was refreshing, every like 20/30 seconds. It was distracting me, so I tried to restart the pc to see if it kept doing it. After the reboot, the desktop is fine, but another problem appeared : neither Discord or Steam can launch (seems like I cannot connect to the servers). I noticed some websites, such as reddit pages also wont load ("This site cant be reached" error message). So I dont really understand what is going on. I tried running a Malwarebytes scan to see if it could be a malware or something, but nothing came out. If someone could help me, it would be awesome ! Thank you guys. PS : I have no problem to access to reddit and the other sites on my phone (which is on the same network) and discord is fine on my laptop.
  20. Yeah I put "darker space" because in some colours instead of being white it's actually greyish... Alright I will give it a try. Thanks.
  21. @Kilrah yes I know that, but can you see the white pattern in the orange on my display ? Or am I crazy ? I managed to connect 2 displays on my PC to compare, side by side, and I joined the photo. Before the problem occured, the orange on the left monitor was the same as the orange on the right monitor. Now, as you can see (I hope) on the photo, it's different and there is some white squares happening in bright colors... Thanks again for helping me figure this out.
  22. I noticed the problem is more visible in birght orange areas. I joined a photo where little "white lines" can be seen and it is exactly the same areas of the screen that is darker where other colors are displayed. Do you guys think this could be fixed ?
  23. Well, it's an AOC Porsche Design PDS241 and it's connected via HDMI to my computer. As I explained in my last post, I tried to use the monitor with my Laptop via HDMI and it has the same problem, so I guess it comes from the monitor.
  24. Thank you for the fast reply ! Yep, I'm posting a screenshot to compare. I'm 100% positive it did not have this problem yesterday, as the same music videos I watch on YouTube for example, are really annoying me with this problem... I did not touch any cable or setting whatsoever, that's why I dont get it. After I saw the problem, I tried to update the drivers for the graphics card, to change the refresh rate of the screen (did not change anything) and to connect the screen via hdmi to my laptop and the image is not as smooth as on the laptop screen, so I think it comes from the monitor... Well, is it just me ? In the cropped screenshot you posted, I can see like there is 2 pixels where the green is slightly darker, then 3 where it is brighter, then 2, etc.
  25. Hello ! Today, I ran into a problem that was not here before : it feels like I can see some of the pixels on my screen, as if there was "space" between some of them. So it looks like a grainy old tv or something, I don't know if that makes any sense... The problem is more visible on bright colors (the blue bar on top of a Facebook page, or the blue screen when windows is loading...). It's really annoying. Have someone ever had this problem, and can I fix it or does it mean my monitor is dying ? It's not old at all, so that would not be cool... I tried to take some photos, but on most of them I can't see anything clearly. The only one you can see the pattern appearing on the screen is the one I linked with this post. You can somehow see that in the green part of the photo, there is an horizontal pattern, almost like every few pixel lines, there is one or two lines slightly darker (and it is not noticeable in the pink/purple part)... If anyone could help me with this, it would be appreciated. Thank you !
