  1. unfortunately i believe my cpu was being throttled due to thermal maximums being hit. if there is no way to change that, it's likely that i will not be able to overclock at all. thankfully, my brother gave me his old computer, which is significantly faster than my acer. I no longer have a need to overclock it. I'm not sure if, under any circumstances, my cpu reached the power limit. i know it got up to temp on multiple occasions though. it's likely that increasing power limit wouldn't have done much, but if i find myself needing the performance increase in the future, i may give it a shot.
  2. I've got an Acer Aspire e15 with an i5 5200u processor and nvidia 940m graphics card. I've recently been streaming/recording and of course been having a rough time with framerates mainly. I recently have been looking into overclocking and am running a small overclock with msi afterburner on my graphics card. Due to my CPU being locked, I have been having a very hard time finding info on any sort of performance increase on that end. I have intel XTU and i am able to change voltages and power limits. I want to squeeze a little more out of my CPU and I have been doing a lot of reading online to see if there is a way to do this. Im trying to figure out the voltage/amperage limits for this processor and how adjusting the default settings will affect performance? ie - will raising limits = more performance?
