  1. Alright. Judging by the reviews, it looks good for putting an OS on there. I'll probably get this SSD.
  2. I'd rather not spend close to $100. And as for getting a 1 TB SSD, I'm already getting a 4TB HDD, and I'd rather not spend more than what I need. I saw on pcpartpicker that the 660p comes with no DRAM cache. Doesn't that make it a worse purchase? If I'm running Windows 10 on this SSD, how important is the speed vs a DRAM cache? From what I found, I can either get a 500 GB SSD with cache at SATA 6 Gbps, or an M.2 SSD with no cache. As someone who doesn't particularly care about speed, I'd probably get the Crucial MX500
  3. I can either get an M.2 crucial M1 with no cache, or a Crucial MX500 that's the same 500 GB capacity with 512 MB cache, but at SATA 6 Gbps.
  4. I plan to use the Gigabyte B450 Aorus M. I've heard that SATA drives tend to be slower than NVME drives.
  5. I do realize that I am posting this again. However, I really need an answer and it seems that only the most recent posts end up getting replies from people. Feel free to delete this post if you think that is innapropriate. I found an Intel 660p on Newegg for just over $70 (https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-512gb/p/0D9-002V-003Y7#fullInfo) In comparison to a similar Samsung drive, this is $30 cheaper. However, this Intel drive comes with no cache to speak of. And since I intend to run Windows 10 Pro off of this, I'm concerned with that fact. Someone had told me that due to increased reliability of SSDs nowadays, I should be able to use this for 4+ years. I just wanted to get an overall opinion on this SSD as a main OS drive, so I can know whether to get it or not. If not, what are some other SSDs I can get that are around 500 GB that would work as a boot drive?

  7. So you'd say that the subreddit and places like eBay and amazon are reliable if I'm looking for a used 580? What should I look out for in terms of getting a bad deal? Thanks
  8. I wanted to know where, and if, I would be able to find an RX 580 or 570 (heard they were pretty similar) for no more than $120 or so. I'm asking here because I've had trouble finding a used 580 for less than than $160, and I'm trying to save as much money as possible. I also wanted to know how much VRAM would be recommended for high quality 1080p and light VR gaming? I've heard that 4 GB is enough, but I've seen 8 GB variants of the 580 for not much more. This follows from my previous post one or two weeks ago asking a similar question, so apologize for any redundancy. Thanks
  9. Thanks. I know it's a broad range. I'm just still looking for a suitable case, motherboard, and power supply. Also, how long does that deal last for?
  10. Though both the 5600 and 5500 xt are out of my budget. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Radeon-RX-580-8GB-GDDR5-Dual-Graphics-Card-OC-Edition/114085676123?epid=10004798207&hash=item1a9009445b:g:SJYAAOSwk8JeLZ5j Does this RX 580 look legitimate?
  11. I mean I'm fine lowering my settings to medium. And I'm only gonna be running at 1080p 60fps. So I doubt the 580 will be a bottleneck, even for future titles
  12. For now, I'm probably going to stick with the 2600, since that doesn't seem to be a bottleneck. As for the graphics card, I'm probably going to stick with the RX 580, as the 5600 xt, even on amazon used, is about $200, which is out of the budget for my system. If that's not enough, I'll try to find a used 1060. Which would you guys recommend between the 580 and 1060?
  13. So there's little difference between the 1600 and 2600 in terms of performance, just that the 1600 is cheaper? How would the combination of a 1600 and 580 work for the games I'm looking to play? Also, I've found a used RX 580 for $120 on ebay. How would I make sure that something on ebay or amazon is trustworthy to purchase? I apologize for all of the questions, I tend to have a lot of them. Thanks anyway
  14. I'd first off like to say that I'm new to this forum and to PC building, and am looking to build my first gaming PC at a budget of around $500-$750. I wanted to know whether it would be possible to find a used RX 580 at a price of around $130 or less. If not, what other graphics cards would be applicable for this type of build? For reference, I want to play something like Watch Dogs or GTA V at 1080p 60 fps at around medium to high settings. As a sidenote, I also wanted to know whether $110 to $130 was a good price for a used Ryzen 5 2600, as I'm seeing that GTA V suggests a CPU with a clock speed of around 4 Gigahertz. Thank you for your help
