  1. This worked! Absolutely no idea what was going on with the drive, and there was absolutely no information on the web about it. After running a couple different programs looking for something that didn’t want to charge me $100+, the EaseUS freeware ended up allowing me to simply delete all partition data on the unrecognized drive and create a new partition, which solved every issue! I feel like an idiot for not trying this sooner. I’m very grateful for your advice, haha, almost wanted to just give up and toss the drive in garbage.
  2. Well, I removed the disk from the storage pool group and that did delete the “Microsoft storage space device” from the device manager. The problem now is that disk manager and diskpart do not show the disk anywhere. The only place that the drive is still visible is in storage pool settings and device manager. When viewing properties, trying to populate the drive returns the same error “Volume information for the disk cannot be found”, and windows will not let me add the drive back to the storage pool. I’ve cleared CMOS, updated chipset drivers and even reinstalled windows, nothing has worked so far. Just to be clear, disk manager does not show the drive at all or any unallocated space, and using diskpart then list disk does not show the drive either.
  3. the Microsoft storage space drive doesn't appear anywhere in Disk Management, should I just delete the primary partition in disk management and create a new one there?
  4. Hello all. Ive spent the past couple hours cleaning and formatting this 2TB Seagate barracuda HDD due to games and programs crashing and encountering errors on only this drive (Programs on boot drive run fine). This is an internal drive, my second drive, used only for large games and programs, so it has never seen a windows install. I have used windows cmd diskpart to clean the drive, structure the partition table as GPT, format to NTFS, and create the primary partition. I have very little knowledge of these things so there's a high probability I just screwed something up. The problem im having is that the device manager now recognizes two separate disk drives, one labeled "ST2000DM009-2G4100" and the other "Microsoft storage space device". When viewing the properties of these devices and populating them under "Volumes", the "Microsoft storage space device" returns with the full 1853.xxGB of space. However, the "ST2000DM009-2G4100" device returns with the error "Volume information for this disk cannot be found". When examining the disk using diskpart, I do see two separate partitions. The first partition is around 50MB and the second is the other 1853.xxGB. The 50MB partition appears to be locked, and my guess is that its just the drives protective MBR and actually doesn't have anything to do with the issue, but I just wanted to relay every bit of info I have. Again, id like to say that I literally just learned everything I know about this subject in the four hours ive been on this journey, but I guess this issue is just too uncommon for there to be any easily accessible info on the web. If anyone could help me get this drive working properly I would be forever in your debt, lol. I am unsure if this will even cause any issues, but id really rather be safe than sorry when im spending days working on 3D modeling and painting.
  5. Hey guys! So, my current PC that I put together about 2 years ago is still running fine for me in most cases (mostly just play WoW lmao) but im starting to branch out into some more demanding titles while at the same time looking at setting up for game streaming on Twitch. Seeing as how my PC use is shifting into a more demanding category I thought id start trying to optimize my hardware and software. Started off with grabbing razer cortex for a fast and easy clean and then i went and downloaded MSI Afterburner and Kombustor. TLDR is my Kombustor benchmark reports 27fps and 3Dmark reports 28fps, both having drops below 18fps while running. Worried that i might be doing something wrong somewhere. Heres a quick list of my hardware Ryzen 5 1600X Asus X470-I Asus Ryujin 240 MSI GTX 1060 6GB X 2x 8GB Corsair DDR4-3000Mhz EVGA 750w PSU 250GB Samsung 850evo SSD Ive done a couple tweaks to my system since running the benchmarks. Changed DRAM frequency from 2133mhz to 3000mhz, Applied an overclock profile to my CPU via Asus BIOS giving me a stable 4.0GHz (i think), Overclocked my GPU by 150mhz core clock and 250mhz memory clock, and ive messed around in the Nvidia control panel (followed a youtube guide?). Besides a slight increase in benchmark score, im not seeing much improvement in FPS. Im thinking maybe 30fps is just the limit for an old 1060 running these benchmarks that have been updated past the specs of its time but i thought it wouldve been capable of at least hitting around the 60fps mark, idk. In any case, im sure someone might have some helpful overclocking tips or just any tips in general to help me squeeze some more performance out of this rig. After many days spent researching and troubleshooting, id be extremely grateful for any help!

  7. Two systems (that I know of) currently experiencing a similar group of web browsing errors such as: Videos pausing while continuing to play the audio correctly. Videos playing normally but the audio continuously looping a specific 5-10 second segment indefinitely. Slowed and glitchy video playback with regular audio. Normal video playback with demonic incomprehensible audio. Other various mixes of stated issues along with occasional non-video related issues. The video attached is one of the most prominent issues appearing on my Acer Chromebook while watching YouTube. The laptop is connected wirelessly, but connection is definitely stable with 100mbps download and 20mbps upload. What I’m more concerned about is my desktop PC having these types of issues as well. The PC has a gtx1060, a recently upgraded ryzen 5 1600X and 16gb ddr4-3200. Using a wired connection, Firefox instead of chrome and much better hardware, the PC is experiencing the same (if not, more) issues that my crappy chromebook. The only thing I can think of that could possibly be the source of the problem is my home network. We have Xfinity xFi Internet 5 Extreme (brand new Arris group TG3482G voice+data modem) with around 15 connected devices at any given time, though the problem still occurs when only a single device is in use. Did a little digging around and found out I had “Protected Browsing” turned off from the xfinity website, not sure if that’s a red flag or not. Besides that, I keep recommend firewall setting on for my PCs and I do not have any extra antivirus installed, as I am not one to venture into anything remotely sketchy. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas or information please let me know. I am a complete forum/msg board newbie so if I messed anything up despite me trying my best to read through rules, I sincerely apologize! ***VOLUME WARNING ON THIS VIDEO*** 838E5129-A2A9-48C3-8541-9867239FB828.MOV
