Forum Bugs & Issues preferably. Moved it there.

That error message could appear if you are trying to view content (such as a post, blog post, status update) that had been removed. You shouldn't receive that particular error message when trying to view just a profile page (eg. /profile/519965-spotty/).

What was the URL for the page that gave the error?

Did you only recently start F@H with those OC settings? It could be that the OC is stable for gaming but not for F@H which is something I've experienced. Also different WUs behave differently and sometimes you'll get a WU that will put a lighter load on the card but cause the GPU clock speeds to boost higher to where they're not stable.

You can always give the RM750x a try, but remember you need to swap the power cables. You cannot use the cables from the Seasonic with the Corsair RMx (or vice versa). Only use the cables that PSU came with.

The OC setting I use in F@H is 1860MHz@0.919v +750mem for GPU, RAM setting is the same.

I've been using these settings in the past 6 months.

At first, I ran F@H with maximum OC, but it wasn't stable. F@H sometimes showed some errors but never caused PC to restart.

Anyway, I tuned down the OC, and the machine ran fine ever since until recently.

I will try swapping the PSU if the problem persists.

Is this the system you're having issues with?

Two things stand out that would cause random restarts. Aggressive overclocks (both GPU and memory) and Seasonic PSUs not playing nicely with high end Ampere GPUs. Remove the overclocks to see if that solves the issue. If removing the overclocks doesn't help do you have another power supply you can test with?

Unless the fan is broken or the intake is blocked it's pretty unlikely the PX-1000 would be tripping OTP. Unfortunately I can't answer your title question as I actually don't know if triggering OTP will cause it to latch off. Normally protections like SCP and OCP are handled by a supervisor IC which when triggered will latch off the PSU, but as far as I'm aware the supervisor IC used in the Seasonic PX-1000 (and most PSUs) doesn't support OTP so OTP will be implemented in another way.

Is your PSU latching off (requiring you to switch the power switch off and on again on the PSU) or is the PC just restarting?

    Just restarting.

These OC settings were fine in the past 8 months, but I will try tuning it down and see what happens.

There is a RM750x in my other PC, dunno if the wattage is enough for my current build.

Yeah that probably won't do the job, good thing that you caught that lol... you saved yourself a cpu

    What cooler is that?

There are reports of such shapes destroying the CPU if torqued down.

    What cooler is this?

    Thermalright le grand macho RT.

I actually had installed this cooler on my cpu but replaced it with D15 due to its poor performance.

It is a miracle that my cpu still works lol

I have those two Thermalrights, and both were within 5c of my old D14 on Intel hardware, the performance was nearly identical. Not sure how you have such a large discrepancy.

If 3 big air coolers are not enough cooling for you, then you have to look at other causes. Case flow could be one.. people don't like noise and you have to make some noise to move some air. Maybe not enough TIM? A D15 should be fine on that CPU. Same with any other cooler mentioned so far in this thread.

Despite its lower performance, I am using le grand macho RT right now actually. It looks way better than dual tower coolers, but that's just my opinion.

I wonder how much heat your cpu produces when testing TS140P and LGMRT. Maybe LGMRT handles high heat load better?

My CPU produces 165~180w under full load.

Nonetheless, both Thermalright coolers look really good, but I wish their performances were better 😞

Edit: I accidentally scratched the fin stack of TS140P, I am going to cry in the corner right now.

Edit 2: grammar, I was sleepy when typing this reply

  6. It real depends on what you want to do with your cpu.

My stock 10700K consumes 170w when running folding@home or rendering. Most 140mm single tower coolers will have no issue handling such heatload. (Although the one I have almost thermal throttled)

When throwing some ultra unrealistic heatload like OCCT AVX small data set at the Cpu, even Noctua D15 can't handle such heatload (close to 230w).

  7. I had already tried some other high end heatsinks that are "supposed" to be better than D15.

Coolers I had tried are Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power and le grand macho RT. Both coolers look very nice, but performances were not good enough, both are worse than D15 by quite a margin.

I am considering buying Deepcool Assassin III or Thermalright silver arrow.

    Any suggestion?

Now now, no need to be like that. He asked. Those fans are probably as old as you or close to it lol.

Aliexpress has an ok selection of Thermalright fans, I considered these guys, both the TL-D14X and CL-14X.

Oh, it is you again. I should have known that earlier after seeing "120x38" lol

Those are great 120mm fans without rgb. But I think if I want a good rgb fans might as well be lian li uni sl120 fans, they are too good for the price and looks.

Gentle typhoon is pretty hard to find actually

    Thermalright C12s or C12l are rgb/argb version of C12.

Not sure if you can find it on Amazon.

FYI, Thermalright C12 is NOT suitable to be mounted horizontally, it will produce rattling noise if mounted horizontally.

  10. Never understand why would anyone keep bragging about their server fans. It is like someone put a giant time attack spoiler on his crappy Honda and can't stop telling people how amazing the spoiler is.

Anyways, good 120mm fans outperform average 140mm fans.

while good 140mm fans outperform them all.

However, there are only few good 140mm fans on the "consumer" market. Maybe Arctic P14 or thermalright C14x are worth considering.

( Yes, I am aware of Noctua A14, and no, it is not a good 140mm fan.)

120mm fans that worth considering are :

    Nidec GentleTyphoon

Noctua A12x25 (basically a GentleTyphoon clone but with quieter bearing)

    Arctic P12 (cheap A12x25 alternative)

Thermalright C12 (bearing is kinda crappy but performance is on par with GentleTyphoon*)

Thermalright C12 PRO ( same as C12 but with better bearing)

*On air coolers only, GentleTyphoon is still the king of radiators.

You should be able to buy newer Thermalright fan models on Amazon now.

  11. Cooler Master H500

The front intake fan cut out is laughable. 120mm*360mm cut out for two 200mm fans, and the most of the area is blocked by those giant fan hubs.

Besides of CM H500, I hate any case with front fan mounted behind the fan mount. That was one of the reasons why I sold my Meshify C.

Any obstacle that is directly in front of a fan increases noise drastically. Even some of the "silent" cases are designed with this kind of fan mount🙄
