  1. Sorry if I post in the wrong place. When I was trying to view one user's profile, this showed up. Does that mean the user is banned?
  2. The OC setting I use in F@H is 1860MHz@0.919v +750mem for GPU, RAM setting is the same. I've been using these settings in the past 6 months. At first, I ran F@H with maximum OC, but it wasn't stable. F@H sometimes showed some errors but never caused PC to restart. Anyway, I tuned down the OC, and the machine ran fine ever since until recently. I will try swapping the PSU if the problem persists.
  3. Just restarting. These OC settings were fine in the past 8 months, but I will try tuning it down and see what happens. There is a RM750x in my other PC, dunno if the wattage is enough for my current build.
  4. As title, I am trying to find what component is causing my PC to randomly restart.
  5. My 8 month-old PX-1000 just tripped few days ago while I was running F@H. Gpu is undervolted Gigabyte 3090.
  6. When comparing two PSUs, how do I determine which psu is better if both are in the same tier?
  7. I deep clean my pc every month. I would take out the Gpu and unmount Cpu cooler every time I clean my pc. Is that too much? Will the pcie connector on Gpu be worn out by doing so?

    Hi, I own a PX-1000 PSU. I have a question rega…

Yes, my case is Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh. The included manual recommends that PSU should face up if the hybrid mode is on, but the manual doesn't say whether it is safe to use the hybrid mode when PSU is facing down. How to position your power supply

I have a question regarding hybrid mode(semi-passive mode).

Is it safe to use hybrid mode when the PSU is facing down?

Does the PSU have ventilation when it's facing down? Many cases have holes and ventilation there, but some odd ones don't.

      Hi,

You can safely use your PSU in Hybrid mode when the fan is facing down.

      Thank you.

      Best regards,

  10. I assume you are talking about Thermalright customer support? Oh, they did replied, saying that the copper base is normal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  11. Thermalright le grand macho RT. I actually had installed this cooler on my cpu but replaced it with D15 due to its poor performance. It is a miracle that my cpu still works lol
  12. As title, I have not ever seen a such uneven coldplate. I know that a slight convexity is to increase mounting pressure, but this is just jarring.
  13. Despite its lower performance, I am using le grand macho RT right now actually. It looks way better than dual tower coolers, but that's just my opinion. I wonder how much heat your cpu produces when testing TS140P and LGMRT. Maybe LGMRT handles high heat load better? My CPU produces 165~180w under full load. Nonetheless, both Thermalright coolers look really good, but I wish their performances were better Edit: I accidentally scratched the fin stack of TS140P, I am going to cry in the corner right now. Edit 2: grammar, I was sleepy when typing this reply
  14. It real depends on what you want to do with your cpu. My stock 10700K consumes 170w when running folding@home or rendering. Most 140mm single tower coolers will have no issue handling such heatload. (Although the one I have almost thermal throttled) When throwing some ultra unrealistic heatload like OCCT AVX small data set at the Cpu, even Noctua D15 can't handle such heatload (close to 230w).
  15. I own one actually. I just need an excuse to buy a new heatsink haha. I was bothered by the noise from A15, maybe I should just change the fans instead of whole cooler.
  16. I had already tried some other high end heatsinks that are "supposed" to be better than D15. Coolers I had tried are Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power and le grand macho RT. Both coolers look very nice, but performances were not good enough, both are worse than D15 by quite a margin. I am considering buying Deepcool Assassin III or Thermalright silver arrow. Any suggestion? Spec : Motherboard: z490 ACE Cpu: 10700KF
  17. I bought Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power and Le grand macho RT few days ago.

While the look of these are pretty neat, especially TS140P, man what a sexy heatsink, the performances were not so good.

Compared to Noctua D15, the former is at least 10C hotter, while latter is 5C hotter.

I originally suspected it was mounting issue, but I had remounted several times, and temps are still the same.

Anyways, TS140P is now sitting comfortably in the shelf as a decoration 😛

Edit : I forgot to mention, I used A15 as heatsink fan on all the coolers.

  18. Does anyone know how to remove the oil bled from thermal pad? I tried 95% alcohol, but it doesn't seem to be very effective. My gpu pcb is covered by thermal pad oil, and I want to clean up the mess.
  19. Oh, it is you again. I should have known that earlier after seeing "120x38" lol
  20. I just checked, those fans seem can't be found on Amazon unfortunately.
  21. Thermalright C12s or C12l are rgb/argb version of C12. Not sure if you can find it on Amazon. FYI, Thermalright C12 is NOT suitable to be mounted horizontally, it will produce rattling noise if mounted horizontally.
  22. Never understand why would anyone keep bragging about their server fans. It is like someone put a giant time attack spoiler on his crappy Honda and can't stop telling people how amazing the spoiler is. Anyways, good 120mm fans outperform average 140mm fans. while good 140mm fans outperform them all. However, there are only few good 140mm fans on the "consumer" market. Maybe Arctic P14 or thermalright C14x are worth considering. ( Yes, I am aware of Noctua A14, and no, it is not a good 140mm fan.) 120mm fans that worth considering are : Nidec GentleTyphoon Noctua A12x25 (basically a GentleTyphoon clone but with quieter bearing) Arctic P12 (cheap A12x25 alternative) Thermalright C12 (bearing is kinda crappy but performance is on par with GentleTyphoon*) Thermalright C12 PRO ( same as C12 but with better bearing) *On air coolers only, GentleTyphoon is still the king of radiators. You should be able to buy newer Thermalright fan models on Amazon now.
  23. Can you change VCCSA and VCCIO voltage on 10700f? The motherboard is ASUS Z490-E
  24. Is RM750x enough for RTX 3090 with 500W BIOS and Ryzen 5900x?
