  1. after like the 5th time restarting my pc it actually just magically worked, thank you for the replies though.
  2. hello, the issue is whenever i try to install windows 11 on my w10 pc, it gets stuck on 8% download. windows update tells me my pc is ready for the update but it won't go past the 8% download. the windows update service is not using any cpu, disk or ethernet, and uses about 100MB ram. what i've tried: - windows update troubleshooter - startup repair - sfc /scannow - - using the windows11installationassistant.exe, from the mcs website, looked like it worked at first but didn't install anything. i'd like to install w11 without losing the majority of my files, so i wouldn't want to use an installation media. any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance
  3. Making the Microsoft account local fixed my issue. Thank you.
  4. i also dont have a password, i only have a PIN set up doesnt making a local account make me lose a bunch of stuff?
  5. hello, I have recently bought a pre-build, and Windows asked me to provide a PIN to sing in. At first I was like sure, I'll just remove that later, but windows doesn't let me remove it. Well... Windows lets me remove it, but when i try to sign in again, Windows asks me to make a new PIN, with no option to go on without. To combat this, I have tried to make a USB authentication key, and just leave that in the PC, but Windows doesn't recognize my USB, or any USB for that matter (tried 3 different ones). I just want to turn on my PC and not have to sign in in any way, so that I instantly go to desktop. Do any of you know a way to remove any kind of sign in? I am on windows (Home) version 20H2, build 19042.1288, activated. kind regards, Jimboza1
  6. Well thank you both for the replies, I'm now 100% getting an R5 5600x when it becomes available, with an x570 to go with it, maybe i should wait to upgrade gpu until more benchmarks are available, and until the gpu's become more available.
  7. well the poor cooler master hyper 212 evo cant keep up with more than 4.7 ghz. and I don't really have a budget, its more a case of getting stuff that fit my needs and not overpaying for something I won't use. And of course this system won't be built in a week (thanks GPU shortages).
  8. hi contemplating if i should get a 3060 Ti or a 3070 Current: i5 8600k (OC all core 4.7ghz), but looking to upgrade to either r5 5600x or i7 10700k 16 gb ddr4 3000mhz ram gtx 1070 looking to play most games at 1080p 144 hz. Mostly play Apex Legends, CP2077 when it's here (not expecting 144 hz there), Warzone, Titanfall 2, you get the vibe i honestly don't know if a 3060Ti will be good enough since most benchmarks are for the usual games, which do give a good idea, but are not really for everyone. and 3060 Ti being days old there aren't that many benchmarks for it. would love some thoughts. kind regards jimboza1
  9. it appears to be working fine now, idk what fixed it, maybe the reinstallation of the gpu driver, maybe just a good ol restart. thank you everyone for replying!
