  1. yes, the option is there, but the implementation is bad, it is very slow and produces large index files, uses too much cpu, even then Everything is much faster
  2. well, windows can exclude system files by default, also the windows search does search for everything but it is slow. windows does not search file content by default, the search algorithm used by windows is very slow and that is the real problem and is easy to fix

Recently Linus, in one of his videos mentioned windows file search and how slow it is, I've been using this 1 MB app called Everything for several years to search my files on windows, it indexes more that 3 Millions files on my laptop in less than 1 minute, and after that the search is instantaneous, also the index file is very small, So how does Microsoft and Google (oh I remember Google Desktop and its awfully slow indexing), haven't figure this out when a small 1 MB free app can do this perfectly ,
