  1. Given the general wisdom is "men love their tools, women love their looks", it comes as no surprise if men dominate the tech space since y'know, you can consider that a computer is a "tool" of sorts. It's kinda the same that not much men works in make-up industry or something, it's just how it is. That being said, I'd love more woman represented in this space, but there's just not much women interested in tech i suppose.
  2. Exactly. Do you know why? Because he got caught lying in his responses. People will just assume that he's lying again, and you can't blame them. Linus has shown that he's morally compromised, so winning back trust is going to be exponentially harder. Well, y'know, something, something, the boy who cried wolf. Maybe linus should read that book too.
  3. Where's the spoiler alert lol
  4. Yeah, Linus basically dug his own grave at this point. He has been found out borderline lying yesterday, so any word he spew off now will look like another lie. But idk, if all of this is true, then I have no sympathy for the guy. But if Linus want to prove his innocence, he better brought up AMPLE evidence to back it up, not just another "i say, you say" scenario.
  5. Unionize, people. This is far from acceptable.
  6. Alright that's it. I'm unsubbing from YT and cancelling my FP subscription. After going through Madison's tweet, now I know for certain that I CANNOT support you guys in good conscience. Good luck dealing with the fallout I guess. Also, for other LTT employee, I know it's not my place to say this, but I hope you unionize. Linus has failed you.
  7. Since Linus only posted his answer here, there's nowhere to go but here if you want to give a comment regarding... current events. I myself is a 5+ years subscriber to LTT, and also subscribed on floatplane. But as you can see, I went and basically resurrected this old account of mine just to give my 2 cents on this issue. I think many are thinking the same, as the issue is simply too big to ignore.
  8. Sit upon the throne, and the throne will act upon you... Or something to that effect. idk, maybe his personality haven't really changed, but his outlook on his business definitely is. I mean, LMG went from a scrappy YT channel into a 100+ people company right now. Obviously something's gotta change.
  9. Look Linus, that answer ain't it. You (and your company) f'ed up, and you gotta own it. You probably wrote all that response with a really hot head, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But I expect a proper and public response (not this whole nothingburger in your own forum and echo chamber) down the line. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week when you got it all sorted out, idk, but I expect one soon. For now, I'll hold my judgement. But I'm prepared to just nuke my FP account and unsub from YT if I know I can't support you guys in good conscience. Cheers.
  10. Dang, guess I really missed a lot of stuff nowadays. Alright, these answers just sated my curiosity if anything else. thanks guys. never knew HT is the way all this time.
  11. So, the belief about 2 years ago regarding hyperthreading is, if you're gaming, turn HT off as that may hurt your performance. back then, what really matter is single thread performance, hence i5 CPUs are preferred for gaming workload due to pricing. Nowadays, games use more threads than 4. some games like AC Odyssey and GTA5 (and perhaps more, as I don't really follow AAA releases nowadays) are seeing much better performance with HT on, and intel are rumored making HT accessible on every SKU with their 10th gen CPUs. So, the question is, what do you guys think? will HT ever be the future for gaming? Will there come a time where AAA games use every thread you have effectively? Should we buy i5 or i7 nowadays if we expect our system to last for the next 5 years or so?
