  1. That's why I'm going to keep that 1 SSD for the OS then get the larger one in Jan. I'll be getting more games for then and I'll be back in Ireland for most of december so won't have much time to game on it 10-15 days give or take. The RL06 was a choice as it had the 3 slots for the storage so 1 for OS 1 for Games and 1 for random. If needs be I can make the random into an external and add another 1tb SSD and a 1tb NVmE so 3tb in SSD or higher and 2tb in HDD. I don't think it will get to that stage though
  2. This is all fitting into my 1 budget. It's going to be spread over 2 months and tbh if Christmas wasn't coming up I wouldn't have to be as tight. I'm literally putting Windows 10 on that SSD then buying a 1 or maybe 2 tb in Jan to put any games on then the HDD is going to be for various stuff. That budget is working off a max of £700 a month roughly. I absolutely want to go straight out and buy a beast of a system but I'm just settling for stuff with a good upgrade path why I'm not skimping out on the MoBo or PSU
  3. It's for an entirely new build, this is a link to it https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/3f7Z8M
  4. That coolmaster H500 does look pretty. I don't even know what else to say. I'm just pondering over my budget, this upgrade was for in January once I had everything built fully
  5. Nah can get it on amazon for £70 with the extra fans it brings it to £110 roughly, for 120mm anyways
  6. Looking into getting an RL06 Pro case and after looking int o it a bit I want to swap out the stock fans for be quiet ones. The overall aim is to have good air flow while remaining to have noise level down. I want an mostly Black/white theme on the build so matte black fans would be preferred. This of course comes with its own line of questions: Is there a better fans I could put in? Should I do 3x120mm or 2x140mm on the front? Off topic from the fans, should I use the dust covers that come with or upgrade them? Is there any other upgrades for just the case that could benefit it? Thanks for reading through my questions and if you comment even better and thanks you again! I'm UK based, if that impacts any answers?
  7. That's a perfect guide thank you very much! It'll be December by the time I'm building as I went a bit over planning budget but realised I could split it over 2 payslips I feel like this will be the story of my life from now on once I finish my build. . . .
  8. So...don't go to the reputable sketchy guy, go to the one behind the dumpster? Nah I get what you're saying. So in theory once I acquire one of these product keys and it works once it's requested all I have to do to prep for that is download the OS from the site onto a memory stick and everything after is spot no dramas? Sorry if it's a bit drawn out, one of these people who might not get something for a while but once it clicks it clicks
  9. Yeah that's what really threw a wrench into the works was when I saw amazon with it. One of my shadier mates suggested that I just bought a key from ebay and use that (disclaimer: I toooootally don't suggest anybody reading this does that.. . . ) as much as. . . .forgetting. .. to enter my product key does interest me it's no actual problem to enter everything and pay the prices I just don't want to be spending £100+ when I could legit just spend £5 Link to the amazon key https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07T917MP4?pf_rd_p=330fbd82-d4fe-42e5-9c16-d4b886747c64&pf_rd_r=5XDTGXWCSDZH9ES1YV08
  10. Hi, I'm looking to build a new PC. To get windows 10 on it is it as easy as download it to a usb, put the usb in the new PC and enter the product key that I can buy for £5 off of amazon? If it is where are all these £100+ price tags coming from? Sorry if it's just such a idiotic question but seeing too many contradicting searches with no definitive answer for what I need. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  11. So going outside of the ones you listed off, I do apologise if that's a major problem for you. In the same boat and looking into different monitors myself. I'm going with the Acer from this video but I hope it helps you find one suitable for you
  12. Hi all! I'm looking into making a PC. This will be my first time stepping into the PC gaming world and I want to get a good starting point! With the help of videos and one of my more tech savvy friends I've put together a list of parts that I think should work together! But just to be safe thought there would be no harm posting it here to get loads of other opinions and thought! So I'm UK based, building it to mainly game (so long as I get decent experience on new AAA titles I'm happy starting here) I will be looking at future updates as needed. Component Selection Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor £217.98 Buy Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard £218.47 Buy Memory Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory £69.98 Buy Storage Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £56.99 Buy Storage Kingston A400 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive £27.64 Buy Video Card PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card £360.79 Buy Case Silverstone RL06 ATX Mid Tower Case £69.98 Buy Power Supply Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply £84.98 Buy Monitor Acer XF240H 24.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor £179.97 Buy Total: £1286.78 I do have a preference to AMD and the radeon GPU as the monitor is apparently more compatible with it ? I may be wrong but it's also cheaper and lowers the cost by a bit. I'm spreading it over 2 months getting most of the cheaper parts in November and then the GPU PSU HDD and motherboard in December. Any reassurance that this will work once put together would be mega or if you see any fault in the plan the even better!! Thanks for reading this time and bearing with an idiot! IrishGamer34 * Edits Motherboard: After going back over and checking with the motherboard I saw that the one I originally put in wasn't compatible with 3rd Gen Ryzen so I had to swap it out in favour for the one that's now in there. This will also allow for more room to upgrade in the future though to a better CPU * After looking up some reviews on it I found a comparison between this MoBo and 4 others and this did the worst so I now gone with the best resulting one at a slightly higher price but still offering a better upgrade path and cooler overall PC Case: I changed the case as it's a slightly better model, just in white, and it's cheaper by about £30 as well Monitor: There was some false information on amazon for the monitor about it being 144hz so I now changed it to the current Acer listed
