  1. Hey everybody, so a few weeks ago my mouse started skipping/freeze out of nowhere. It seems to mostly skip when loading new windows/apps, and also in games when the cpu is (somewhat) loaded. (I don't play very intensive games). I also don't think its some sort of virus in the background, since task manager is not showing high cpu usage, and I don't see any strange executables running in task manager. Here are my pc specs: Windows 10 Ryzen 5 2400g Asrock B450m Pro4 2x8 Ripjaws V 3000mhz CX650m PSU Intel Dual Band Wireless AC3168 (with a pcie adapter) Thanks!
  2. It ended up being Microsoft OneDrive (just end the task in task manager) for any people in the future with this problem!
  3. I figured I should add this for people in the future having this issue, it ended up being Microsoft OneDrive (I just ended the task and my file explorer returned to normal), sorry for reviving an old thread!
  4. I went into file explorer options and turned off previewing files and I still have the problem. Any other ideas?
  5. This probably isnt the problem but it's worth trying. On my B450M Pro4 board I had problems getting my ram up to its advertised speed, so I switched which 2 slots they were in (so if they were in 2 and 4 I switched them to 1 and 3). Hope this helps!
  6. Hey forum user who's reading this! A couple months back I posted a topic here on windows file exlporer being unusable, and at the time I had a really full SSD, so I thought that was the problem. However, since then I got a 1TB HDD, and moved alot of my files over to there. But my issue still persists. After having windows open for 15-30 mins, windows file explorer becomes basically unusable. It sometimes just loads files almost infinetly, or doesnt load them at all. Even on the desktop, if I right click to create a new folder or something, my entire pc freezes as windows explorer restarts (I have restarted windows file explorer in task manager, but most of the time to no avail.) I have honestly no Idea what's going on. I've even observed file transfers to be extremly slow. However, game loading times and other program's loading times seem to be fine, so it seems like windows explorer only breaks when it is being directly accessed by a user(?). If it helps here are my specs: Asrock B450M Pro4 r5 2400g 8x2 gb G.skill Ripjaws V 3000mhz WD Blue 250gb m.2 sata SSD
  7. re-did the math after I checked the storage remaining. 1.2% left. Ouch. I'll transfer a bunch of files to my Hard Drive when I get it tommorow. (2TB 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda btw)
  8. 3 gigabytes remaining. My thought is SSD's use some of their free storage as cache, so maybe because it only has 3 Gb left it has a small cache, causing it to run very slowly. Edit: Had the remaining storage wrong! It's worse than I thought, I was remembering wrong.
  9. What the title says. I have a 250Gb WD Blue NAND SATA SSD in an m.2 format, and it has about 3 gigabytes of free storage left. Lately I have been noticing File explorer/programs that need to fetch single files are extremley slow, practically unusable. However, tasks like game loading seem to be fine. Could this be caused by it being almost full? I have had it for almost a year now, and I use my computer relatively heavily, however I don't download files an abnormal amount of the time while I'm using my PC. In short, I don't know why my SSD is so slow on certain tasks. Help! btw, I'm getting a 2TB hard drive very soon because I need the storage for games. Maybe transferring some games over to the hard drive will help this problem? Edit: had remaining storage wrong.
  10. Update: windows windows did not reset over night, but I got it to reset over the day instead and 1 blue screen since then (dialing in ram). Seems to be stable, however I can’t get my ram up to 2933mhz like my a320 board did, which is surprising to say the least. I have g.skill ripjaws v 3200mhz ram (16-18-18-38) timings. Does anyone have input?
  11. I tried to reset windows but it was “getting things ready” from 9 PM to 6 AM so I had to shut it down. I’m looking into making a windows usb drive that I can reinstall a fresh copy of windows on, because I can’t even check my drivers without blue screening.
  12. Hello forum, I just took apart my powerspec pc in hopes of replacing its cheap a320 board with a b450, and I managed to do that successfully. However, windows is extremely unstable now, and I have some blue screens for you guys to analyze. I am resetting windows as I type this, but it has taken an hour so far for windows to “get things ready” any ideas? Thanks! p.s: there are a lot more blue screens but I can only upload 20 MB
  13. Wait, since A320's can't overclock, would that be the root of the issue? ?
  14. Oh ok. I have tried Ryzen master but it still didn't work. -Edit: I tried afterburner, but when I move the slide up from 1251(?) to 1300 and press apply, it moves back down to 1251 mhz. MSI Afterburner 2019-10-14 18-58-43.mp4
  15. Hello, this is my first post on this forum, (I hope I did it right!). I got a pre-built from micro center the other day, and its a Powerspec (Microcenter's In-house brand) so there are no proprietary parts, and I am trying to overclock my cpu's (ryzen 5 2400g) integrated graphics. It comes with a Asrock motherboard (a320 HDV 4.0) and I set the GFX clock to 1300 and voltage to 1.18. But In gpu-z, when I run the render test It only clocks up to 1240mhz (yes, I am in sensors). This is my first time overclocking, and any help would be great. Thanks!
