  1. Have you tried the GPU in another computer? It really sounds like a driver issue or cable, I've had similar problems. Make sure the driver is the exact one from whichever brand of GPU. Otherwise i'd say it's gotta be the connection causing it to flicker, either ports on the gpu or more likely the cable
  2. Hi i have the Acer X34p (the 120hz variant of your monitor), I'm using 9700k and a RTX 2070 super, obviously it depends on the game but i generally get 100fps at max settings. The fps difference if you get will be 10-20 fps and if you think that's worth the cost go for it. Personally if i had a 1080 I'd just keep using it and although your x34 overclocks to 100hz i don't think you should buy a new card just yet. The price of upgrading to a 2070/2080 super doesn't seem worth it. To answer your other question I think your 4790k is enough for gaming and you won't see much of an improvement if any if you go grab yourself a Ryzen/new board as games aren't typically multi-core optimised anyway... Again your system seems decent for most games and should last another year at 60fps+ (which although not ideal after being at 100fps - is playable), go on a holiday or something
  3. Thanks guys, that clears things up - i can get a good deal on this drive so glad for the quick responses.
  4. Hi LTT, I'm new here and wanted to ask about installing a second M.2. I currently have a Strix Z390-E board with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus Nvme installed in the bottom M.2 Slot (below the GPU). The boards manual doesn't really offer much detail about the second slot and i don't really understand M.2 form factor that well so i am confused about 2242-2280 and 2242-22110. Essentially i am asking if i can install the "Intel 660p Series M.2 NVMe SSD 2TB" in the top M.2 slot without any drawbacks. I intend to use the 2TB as a place to store my steam library More details about my current build: Intel 9700k RTX 2070 Super Strix z390-E board Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500gb (boot) 8TB seagate Ironwolf HDD (Archive) Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
