  1. Basically i run differents software that require/check the hardware/system for activation and licences counting. Unfortunatly it's a real hell everytime i change pc, and it's a disaster if something bot broken, cause this "signature" somehow change and the software things i'm in another pc, so i need to access to each service to deactivate the "previous machine" even if it's the same, and enable to the newer one. Certain systems doesn't even allow me to do that from a different pc that i installed the software, and since a piece it's broke, like the GPU i.e. it's just not possible to deactivate so i have to mail the customer service in order to let them deactivate the software and being able to enable the licence again. Some companies have long time for doing that, and it's a real pain tbh. So i'm looking for a way to create/clone a signature if possible, that i can load again if i broke the pc, or if i just buy a new one. Is it possible? Thanks
  2. The sabrent is arrived. It's detected by the system the same way as the adapter, any tips is appreciated
  3. Thank you for your reply. What should i looking for in a case to be sure that handle everything properly? Edit: i ordered this one https://sabrent.com/collections/enclosures/products/ec-uasp I found no much differences between cases and afaik the trim feature should be included in uasp protocol, even if the adapter i bought was uasp too, anyway maybe this enclosure have a more complete controller
  4. I don't use case because i've found this solution to be quicker if i want to switch drives, and also because i never had a thought about a lower quality. Why their quality should be lower?
  5. Hi, i have an external sata ssd i use for backups. I use a sata-usb sabrent device to connect the ssd to the pc, and FreeFileSync as backup program. The ssd is 4tb and just few months old, but time to time i noticed when i start a backup the program tell me some files are corrupted. If i use the integrated windows option to fix the issue, everything get repair, anyway it's annoying but most importantly it's worrying. I noticed the ssd is recognized as regular HD by windows defragmenting tool, so it's possible that is never trimmed. So i bought another adapter that is UASP (but my current was uasp too) but it show the same as before. I don't know if trim can be an issue, if the ssd may be faulty. If the program do a poor job, or what's really happen. Before this ssd i was using a smaller one (2tb) i do not remember errors, but i may be wrong so take this information with a grain of salt. I tested the new ssd with his own tool (crucial) and everything looks good with no errors or flags Any thought on how can i make a diagnosis it's appreciated ps: how can i trim this ssd? Thanks
  6. This one sounds very interesting!! I will need to build a pc for a 13900k and 4090, so i think i need to stay over 1000, since i'm doing a purchase i prefer a bit more of headroom around 1200 if possible
  7. I'm open to other models and vendors too if they fit what i'm looking for
  8. I'm planning to buy a new PSU, i'm looking for an high quality psu that will last hopefully for a long time. My need is silence, it's a very top priority for me, but it also be able to deliver an high wattage for an high end gpu. I read some thread, and something on internet, i came out to chose between Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 1200W and Seasonic Prime PX-1600 I currently have a seasonic, it's awesome but i had to replace the fan cause was very noisy, but i see the prime have a custom fan size so i cannot replace in case of noise, so i'm a bit scary. I have no experience with be quiet and i see there is no zero fan mode. Any thoughts?
  9. I mean HDD, ssd at that dimensions are still too expensive for me
  10. I'm looking for a 2,5" hd larger than 6tb, i did not found anything online. Do anyone know if something is coming?
  11. Thanks for your reply I've already upgraded one year ago with a 10700k occed at 5.1ghz and i'm planning to upgrade again the next year (finger crossed for shortage). My issue is when making music, because programs i use are very heavy, and my workflow it's very intensive too (i need a strong single core performance), i have no trouble while gaming. I was hoping to find some solution to be able to squeeze every performance of my system
  12. Hi, i do like to game and produce music on the same pc, anyway i feel the programs for making music and to games that run in background will binrg down my pc performance even when not needed. Does have 2 different account on a pc could solve the problem? Or services will run regardless accounts? Do you have any other ideas on how can i manage to get the best of my computing power for both scenarios keeping them in a separate enviroment but the same pc?
  13. Thanks for your reply The problem is not the program itself, it's just how audio processing work, because when i do some routing, every process must be made in serial, and can't be made in parallel, and the plugins i use are very cpu hungry, my cpu it's a 10700k @5.1 Windows doesn't seems to care it as it should. I.e. When i'm close to 100% of cpu usage inside my program, on windows i have one core at 20% i.e. and the others core are lower, but if all the other programs will be running on other cores without using that specific core my program use, i could have a boost in perfomance
  14. Hi, i work with music, and in that area, single thread performance it's more important than anything else. In my DAW (the program i use to work with music) i end up to go close to 100% of cpu utilization, but on windows it's around 15% to 20% because at the end i use one core only. I've made my trials, and in safe mode, (without all the programs on background) the cpu have around 10% more capability on single core, because it's free. There is a way to tell to all the background app to use other core instead to go for the core that is used more? Thank you
  15. Thanks for your reply, so what's the difference between the two mode? I probably have readed some wrong info about it, but doesn't in uefi mode, windows install something somewhere that belong to mobo?
  16. I do usually install windows as compatibility mode, because i can clone and backup my system and if the mobo will fail or if i need to upgrade it i can just buy another one and put the disk and have a system. Afaik the uefi does install something in the mobo, so in that case i woudn't be able to use my system with another mobo or this isn't true? My goal is to be able to use my main disk with another mobo if needed, and be able to clone and restore my entire disk on the same disk or a new one if the main got broke I never bothered about it, but now with the SAM i'm interested to switch on uefi to gain some performance in game ps i use clonezilla for clone the disk
  17. If i lower the case fan speed the gpu temp go higher. My case is the meshify c, for the gpu fans i use the amd software it's an rx 580 sapphire nitro, the gpu i think it's considered occed since the reference is 1340mhz while i'm on 1411
  18. the gpu is a sapphire nitro rx580 his temps depends on fans speed, but i think it go to high anyway, i've setted his fans to spin at 1520rpm under load, because more rpm are really loud, my bottom front fan spin at 950rpm under load, i can go higher but it become very noisy, the upper frond just stay around 500rpm, because doesn't change my gpu temps if i let them spin higher, i let spin it high if cpu temps will increase, and the back 120 spin at 1300-1500 under load, the air that come out from this fan isn't very hot, i can feel more hot the air just on the gpu back of the case. With this config my gpu temp go at 80°C under load on idle the fans spin very lower and the gpu temp stay around 50. I repasted the gpu different times, and for few days after repasting the temps are better, but then come back to usual, i've tried with the artic mx4 and the noctua nt h1 termal paste
  19. Hi everyone, i need a 140mm case front fan to help the gpu to lower the temps while gaming, but noise for me is a big issue. I already tryed the fan included with the cpu cooler noctua nh d15 and the Noctua redux 140mm 900rpm, but both do too much noise and the redux doesn't really help the gpu to drop the temps, while the other one seems just a bit better but still noisy Do you have a suggestion if is possible to solve my issue?
  20. There is an option for the fan case in the bios to use the GPU temps as source? Thanks
  21. I saw the MSI MAG Z490 tomahawk do have 2 m2 slot, i do not understand if they are both nvme and if do they perform the same, or is better to use one instead the other one
  22. How can i check windows error? Yes my peripherals lose power I think too it should be a mobo i decided to buy a new one, so i'm crossing fingers now, thanks for the help
  23. Thanks for the replies my budget is under 200$ I'm seeing the b550 tomahawk and seems interesting, currently i do have a ryzen 2600 i will upgrade to a 5000 series next year, they will provide the same bios for all the series or the bios capacity is lower and they will provide different bios for different series? My ram model is PVS416G373C7K isn't listed on the qvl do you think i could have problem with these stick? Does the b550 tomhawk support ryzen 2600? I don't see it there https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK#support-cpu
  24. I've got a bit unlucky with mobo in the last years, now i'm here asking help for a quality b550 motherboard What i care most is the stability and a good compatibility with my ram "Patriot Viper Steel" 3733mhz If the mobo do have a good vrm and vrm heatsink is welcome i could do some overclock in the future
