  1. Thanks to both of you for the help! I think I'll just stick with the soundboard and use VM for internal stuff. Thanks again for all the info!
  2. My church has been livestreaming to facebook during the pandemic and since I'm the most technologically advanced member of said church, I've been asked to look into a proper streaming setup. I was thinking it would make sense to upgrade the soundboard (its at least 40 years old) which is used to controle speakers, mics, and facemics. Integrating this funtionality into the computor which will be used to run Streamlabs by controling all these audio devices with Voicmeeter Potato seemed like a good idea, but after spending an hour searching google for any information regarding this (and finding absolutly nothing), I'm not so sure. Any opinions/info about this would be much appreciated! Audio stuff is so confusing, I much prefer networking.
  3. Basically the same for me. I'd never get rid of my old portable DVD player. Also, I would NEVER get rid of any old device with a touchscreen now that I use TouchPortal.
  4. YES! Of course it overclocks. Mine runs at 4.1 GHz all the time. It was that way out of the box. The stock cooler works just fine, even when its at 100% load. I was worried the cooler woudn't be able to handle it but it does just fine. Saved me a ton not having tobuy a cooler.
  5. Up the sides of the case. It's a really rough drawing, but there is space.
  6. Well, that's exactly what I was thinking of! Thank you!
  7. I'm working on a part list for a somewhat theoretical build and would like some advice. Here's what I'm thinking at the moment: My Goal: Create a semi-portable computor capable of runing most games reasonably well, of editing videos, and of being a general-use computor (web-browsing, word processing, opening files) at a reasonably cheap price (around $350?). I know this probably sounds silly (or maybe not ?), but I think it's almost achivable. One of the bigger issues is the portability requirement. However, I think if you were to make a custom case in which you could stack everything up (see image) you could solve this issue. These are the parts I've found so far: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QmGsK4 CPU: AMD Athlon 200GE 3.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor ($40.00) Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($126.00 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill Aegis 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($29.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair SF 450 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply ($107.92 @ Amazon) Total: $303.91 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-02 17:13 EST-0500 So basically, I'm looking for ideas and cheap parts with a good value. If anyone has any feedback on this crazy, incomplete idea, I would really appreciate it. While deskotps are by far a better value than a comparable laptop as far as performance, the laptop still wins alot of the time because you can move it around.
  8. My computer is finally built!

Things I still need to do:

    1. New thermal paste (I made the preinstalled stuff all lumpy ?)
    2. Get better cables for GPU, etc
    3. Figure out why Chrome and Windows Store sometimes won't load.

(I'll post a picture when I get back to my computer.)

  9. randomfrankp, especially for his "Cool Tec Under $50 for ____" series. Lots of minecraft Youtubers.......
  10. That happens to me alot with minecraft. ARRRGHHGG!!!!
  11. I'm pretty confident in this list: I decided on mouse I saw recomended for video editing (Redragon Perdition). Is getting a $200+ monitor much better getting an under $100 monitor? I want to get at least 2, mabey 3 monitors. I was thinking I would start with a cheaper, lower ressolution one, then get a second 4k one later. Is one monitor reallly better than another in the same price point? The specs all look mostly the same to me.
  12. Well that sounds lovely! See, you can make money without doing anything.
  13. This is the part list I've came up with on PC part picker so far. (open the spoiler) I would really only like to spend $1,000 on my build right now, but definetly will have the money to upgrade a it a bit soon. Basically, I need a functioning computor (not an underpowered, dying laptop) now, but want something more powerfull soon. I have zero experience with building computors and this will be "my first computor". I've always used 'the household computor' and therefor have never used something that cost over $350. I'm planning on using my rig to play Minecraft and edit videos. Everything is (unfortunetly) theoretical at this point, but for planning porposes to can be assumed that I'm going to record YouTube quality Minecraft videos, edit them, and edit 4K videos profesionally as a business. I'm sure most of you that will read this have 100+ times more experience than I do in these matters so here are the problems/questions that I have right now: Can I get a really cheap GPU to use for the time being (I'd just not get one but the Ryzen 3700x dosen't have integrated grafics), then somewhat eaily add a more expensve GPU like the one on my list now? Would that make sense financially? How hard would it be to add/replace a new GPU once I'd already been using my PC for a bit? Is an 'expensive' ($100+) case worth it? Should I just go with the NZXT H500 ATX Mid Tower Case? I have no idea how to chose a power supply (other than chosing the correct watage). Help? (wattage breakdown from pcpartpicker (open spoiler)) Thanks in advance for you help!
