  1. Hi all, So i checked a lot of reviews and what i could find was; 7900XT more vram, and like 3-5% better performance 4070ti, less coil whine, DLSS (don't know if i even care), better raytracing (also don't really care) I play on a 1440p 240hz monitor, rarely i play 4k controller games on my oled tv. (LG G1, but not using hdmi 2.1 because it's a fibre optic hdmi running through the wall that couldnt handle that) The price for me is 860 euro's for the 7900xt, and 900 euro's for the 4070ti. so it's super close. Upgrading because i can sell my 6800xt for a good price and i see it as gaining 30% performance for spending 200 euros now. after selling it Any wisdom here? I have had Nvidia cards in t he past, I had a 1080ti for example. Always liked the drivers and such. But I didn't really have problems with AMD's drivers neither. It has all been fine for me. Cpu = 5800 x3D
  2. A bequiet pure rock 2 is only 38 euros too, which is even cheaper
  3. daaamn, but does that clock speed matter? The cache seems to matter more? purely focused on gaming. I have to make the choice now so the 5800x3d for gaming only and 50 euro's cheaper than the 5900x does sound entising?
  4. I didn't even know about the clock speed. It boosts lower than the 5600x does it seems?? 0.1 ghz lower? Is that a problem? or does the cache make up way more for it? A browser already feels very fast on my 5600x so that's fine jeeez 240w is indeed a lot. I was looking at the deepcool AK500 and AK400 dark zero plus. I don't want to overspend on the cooler. and the 5900x is 50 euro's more expensive than the X3d.
  5. Hi all, What do you think? Anyone experience with deepcool? I'm purchasing a 5800x3d and need to cool it. The AK500 has a larger heatsink, and the zero dark plus has 2 fans but a smaller one. I'm not sure what makes for lower noise with better thermals. Any experts here? I got a really silent pc build so noise is high prio for me. (also no high pitched fans) References: AK400 zd plus https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/dp/B0B6FCCFG7/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=deepcool%2Bak400%2Bzero%2Bdark%2Bplush&qid=1669391210&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIwLjc1IiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-1&th=1 AK500 https://www.alternate.nl/html/product/1854025?utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping_CPU-koeler&utm_term=HXLO6L&gclid=CjwKCAiA7IGcBhA8EiwAFfUDseYNC8DlwUNrQMs-2sEpePv0TuknzMlyIU2BQL1N11wwKTPkcQzzhBoCi9QQAvD_BwE
  6. thanks for the reply, but with 1440p you're very bottlenecked by cpu with the newer GPU's. Since i play on low / competitive settings. In all games i play i want the max framerate. So then the 5600x already shows that it lacks hard when comparing to the 7000 series. But I don't want to upgrade the full set since there's still upgrades in my current platform more worth. I found that the x3d came closer to the new gen in gaming performance but it's so much data and info that now im just a bit lost edited, it's 1440p. And i mean, i don't update too often lol. It's just what you prefer right? i update the GPU every 2 years. The CPU usually les often but i have money to spare for whatever. Just want to make an intelligent choice and not overspend All i do is indeed game no rendering, no other workloads. Just wanna push that 1440p 240hz. Why does it become a slow cpu? Running the 5600x at stock yeah. Aftermarket cooler on there so i could jack it up. But with black friday the prices on the other cpu's in the stack are just so good. And in NL selling my current cpu would actually give me about 75% of what it costs now back. you prefer the 5900x for games, not games, or all round?
  7. Hi all, Currently Edit: monitor: 1440p, 240hz AMD gpu: 6800XT AMD cpu: ryzen 5 5600x Going to upgrade to the 7900XT or XTX, depending on which will be 1000 euro's or less in NL. So after that i will probably not upgrade for at least 2 years until a new gpu gen. I watched loaaads of benchmarks. And it seems that the 5800x3d is like 10-15% faster in general than the 5700x (with an rtx 4090 some games get 30-40%, some games 0-20%. But is that worth that 135 euros / the 40% price premium? When I would go from a 7900xt to something new down the line in 2 years, i would probably update the cpu too. Since by then my cpu platform would be 4 years old. Thoughts?
  8. ok i just fixed in in the WEIRDEST way. I needed more ports, so i ordered an anker usb hub and had that in already. I connected that to the switch, and the mic to the usb hub. and now it works. Lol that is SO strange
  9. Its a usb 2.0 kvm switch. I just now tried unplugging one for one. I also put in extra power (there's a usb c port for power if u need more) That didn't work. So what happens, if i unplug the keyboard, the mic works. But if i plug the keyboard and start typing , the mic doesnt work. If i replug the keyboard, and for example don't type, but start talking, then the keyboard inputs wont work (rgb does shine) So it seems to be choosing one and letting the other not work. While they do show up in respective applications. Ever heard of such behavior?
  10. Hi all! I'm going crazy. I'm using a usb 2.0 switch to hook up my mouse, keyboard and audio to my worklaptop / gaming desktop. Everything is working on my desktop, and on my laptop everything EXCEPT my microphone. Really going insane here. Tried pluggin the switch into my laptop instead of my dock, but that also does not work. I just dont get how it is working perfectly fine on my desktop?? Any one with advice, or things i can try? please let me know Kind regards, Jim
  11. Hi there! Looking into getting a new kvm for my pc. Using this one now but I'm noticing it's a bit janky, moving a cable 1mm can disconnect it. And had some problems with my microphone with it. Three options; Ezcoo (rofavezco) kvm 30 euros Cable matters usb 2.0 kvm 30 euros Cable matters usb 3.0 kvm 60 euros (4 computer output, which I will never need) They all have a remote so I can hide it completely wireless with 3mm tape under my desk And perhaps even get an alexa driven IR blaster there so I can just use voice instead of the remote. What do you guys think? I read that cable matters is a reputable brand. Ezcoo has good reviews, i just purchased a usb over ethernet extender from them too. But at that product there are a few reviews where people are saying it breaks every 3 months. Peripherals connected: 1; G pro wireless superlight mouse 2; Yeti nano mic 3; Gaming keyboard 4; Speakers, (Might use a little 2 to 1 usb splitter and add my webcam which is now only plugged in my work laptop dock) Any advice? I don't think usb 3.0 will bring me anything in this situation right? Since it won't bring lower noticable latency to my mouse anyway.
  12. it's because there's only space for a small switch to split off the downstairs TV (and nvidia shield), and then the cable runs through the wall to the router > and then there's only space for one cable through to wall to my gaming/office room. There are really shallow pipes to the upper floor. I was worried maybe running a cable out of the router might induce input latency?
  13. Hi there! Was wondering how you feel about xiaomi routers. Been using an ax1800 for a while at my parents home and it is pretty good. But not enough for wireless quest 2 gaming. Now i'm moving to my own apartment. Next to some wireless quest 2 gaming, will have like 8-10 smart bulbs, about 6 sonos speakers and a few other smart home buttons/ sensors. (which the ax6000 should handle easily) These sensors will be connected to an aqara hub though so that's zigbee. But the xiaomi's value is amazing. Netgears and asus routers are like 250 -350 euros for comparable specs. Why is this? And should I do a network switch first, then go one out to my xiaomi router, one out to another switch next to my 2 pcs? Or should I do main cable > use router as first network switch > route that to another switch and split into my 2 pcs? Would love to get some advice! Thanks edit: i also read some people stating the wifi 6, isnt wifi 6 on this xiaomi
  14. aaah so if i do that, the pc case will match the cooler? Or is that not how it will work the case has a button to change effects. I'm a bit lost on what i should do
  15. Using an Asrock B450 Pro4 > will with an rgb splitter the addressable part will still work as 2 seperate controllable devices? Or can the pc only send a signal to one through then?
  16. Hi there! Ran into a problem hooked case up to the mobo, that's a 3pin connector I believe (been a while). But my cpu cooler is also addressable rgb, I specifically bought it because of it, but can not use it now Any idea how to connect the cpu cooler rgb's to my pc? And something not adding much clutter in the case? Thanks in advance,
  17. 100% would go with the amd cpu, and put the money u save into an rtx 3080 instead of 3070 And if the intel is cheaper, go the other way around. I would even think the i7 is overkill already. I'd get a 5600x personally
  18. Hi there! Was wondering if there's any fellow Dutchman here that can help me out. Do you work at a retailer? Do you have any idea what the margin on Oled tv's is? I'm very curious I know it is low, but on a 65 inch or 77 inch there must be quite some margin since it's expensive and novelty. Let me know
  19. send it back! Get this one: Corsair RM850X (2018) super high quality, well reviewed. Very important you get exactly that version / year! not the other rm850x's. fixed all my issues
  20. Wondering, I have a very old boy with a little power supply. And that one when it is on sounds like a real true old mechanical hdd. But since usb sticks get more and more size nowadays, do they manufacture external hdd's differently too now? Or can you still hear them? Going to mount my tv flush to the wall, and can;t reach the sides. So i was thinking to run a cable to the tv furniture below where it would permanently be attached. And only would disconnect to put new files on. And connect again after. So I guess it is also important I get a longer, proper quality cable with it? I saw it comes with a super short one. And I had problems with cheap aliexpress phone charging cables heating up a lot at the connector part in the past For example: https://www.amazon.nl/Elements-Portable-Externe-Harde-Schijf/dp/B06VVS7S94/ref=sr_1_6?__mk_nl_NL=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2YMP7W2CDYSPW&keywords=external+hdd&qid=1643831624&sprefix=external+hd%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-6 or https://www.amazon.nl/Seagate-Portable-Draagbare-Services-STGX1000400/dp/B07DQ5ZH1D/ref=sr_1_7?__mk_nl_NL=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2YMP7W2CDYSPW&keywords=external%2Bhdd&qid=1643831624&sprefix=external%2Bhd%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-7&th=1 I would only play bluray files off of them to my oled. Remuxes i make. So 50-70gb per 1,5-2 hours. But a hdd should easily handle that with the transferspeeds they ahve. So SSD would be overkill i think. Only nice thing is that the ssd would copy quicker. But I don't really care about that too much. An ssd example: https://www.amazon.de/SanDisk-Portable-Festplatte-Technologie-Schreiben/dp/B08RSH8YDJ/ref=sr_1_4?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2HH7KSBSZAZ2C&keywords=external%2Bssd&qid=1643831821&sprefix=external%2Bss%2Caps%2C75&sr=8-4&th=1 Thoughts on the choice i have to make? Opinions?
  21. Hi all! Thinking of how to set up my new home. And i'm getting a new Oled tv. Already have a 55 inch, but time for a 65. Now I like to watch my own content by plugging my usb into the tv. But that's kind of a hassle with the new tv being flush against the wall. I don't want to use plex because i want to use the internal player. But do you perhaps know a product that I can hook up to the tv. But also send files to from my computer? So that I can hide it and I don't have to keep connecting and disconnecting it? My blurays are big and i can't rotate them easily because like 3-4 fit on my usb stick at the same time. Another fix could be that I get an external ssd or hdd, and keep the cable in the tv, route it to the tv furniture and hook up the hdd or ssd there every time. But maybe there was a more automated way? I did google of course, but really didn't get wiser on this subject hard to find stuff. Also don't want to break the bank Looking forward if anyone knows!
  22. Hi all!! I'm moving in two months so i'm already keeping my eye on tv deals. Right now i'm sitting 210cm (7 feet) away from my 55 inch E7 oled. The new living room will make me sit about 9 to 10 feet from the tv. I really love the 55 inch at the moment, but i'm now wondering. Should I go 65 or keep 55? I'm worried that with 65 inch reading subtitles gets annoying because u have to look down far every time? Just because it is a way bigger surface. And perhaps the details of like faces gets too detailed and ruins the experience? too big? I dont know. Thoughts? And my nintendo switch on 65 inch will probably look garbage lol with 900p. I either will get a 65 inch for the living room and use the e7 in my game room (hooked up to my desktop with 6800xt, sadly no vrr but it can hit 4k 60fps consistently anyway), or I will get a cheaper normal lcd for the game room and use the 55inch e7 i have in the new living room. I won't be using the office /game room too much. The choice really is for the living room movie / show / anime / tv experience. Money isn't really an issue here, but of course it is always nice to save a buck. And I didn't think a G1 was worth it over the C1. I use my e7 on 30-50% brightness in my bedroom now. Opinions? Experiences? Let me know
  23. thanks for the reply! I was exploring a bit more about that oled panel, hard to find info about it. But the rom support was really scaring me off. Just ordered a xiaomi pad 5! the 5 pro isnt really available here neither and it doesnt bring anything extra for me. I think the mi pad 5 effortles rom will really make me happy. And I didnt know that the ipad had a weird aspect ratio i really liked the desing + how the face id works in all directions. But the mi pad seems the better choice here then. I was thinking of perhaps doing an ipad mini in the future (if they give it 120hz). Really think that size is cool
