  1. Yeah we just got over 60mph winds here that the downtown center for vaccine shots had to close. Lots of tents tossed around. I just miss the socializing and I think we have one more storm here and it’ll be back to being summer in winter here.
  2. Not even a few minutes after Gavin Newson lifted the stay-at-home order, my friend texted me if I wanted to go out to eat since restaurants can now have outside dining open again. Back to the strict tier system. https://apnews.com/article/california-data-lift-stay-at-home-fc0c15eb5e7359b4bae50602f79a2cfd
  3. I drank at home during winter break which wasn’t nearly the same when going out to bars with friends. Got into the Hard Kombucha stuff. I tried my luck at a casino that still had restaurants and bars opened inside. Made sure we weren’t buzzed too much though when gambling. I won’t drink during my uni’s semester which starts soon.
  4. I’ll actually have easy access to the Moderna vaccine because some locations at my work with pharmacies have it and are giving it to the pharmacy workers. I’m next in line to get it as part of the 1B group.
  5. Curfew was enforced more strictly during New Year's here. It's a good thing I kept my company's letter that I'm an essential worker because I was on the road passed one in the morning. One of my managers was actually pulled over and was let go once the officer saw his uniform. https://ktla.com/news/california/california-hits-record-covid-19-deaths-as-new-variant-confirmed-in-san-diego-man-with-no-travel-history/
  6. Christ. And not even the Christmas holiday surge is happening yet. The start of 2021 is going be a bad one. Also, I have two close family members now that are diagnosed with COVID. It's affecting me personally more and more. This month there was also a surge in COVID cases among grocery store workers here which I have managed to avoid. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/stay-home-orders-extended-california-covid-cases-surge-n1252519
  7. Result of a "holiday surge" after Thanksgiving from those who traveled. The future surge from Christmas/New Years won't be felt until January and through mid February.
  8. The regional stay-at-home order for SoCal was set to expire this Monday but might be extended well into 2021 with no set end date. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/politics/california-hospitals-brace-for-holiday-coronavirus-cases/2481163/
  9. I know people personally who don’t give a damn about said restrictions. And that’s only in my own social circle. Recent numbers mean a lot more don’t care also.
  10. California first US state to pass 2 million cases. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/covid-california-million-confirmed-cases-counting-74896767
  11. 600 usd... hmm.. maybe buy another ssd. Or finally tint my car’s windows.
  12. Used to be about 200-300 COVID cases a day here in my city/county. Yesterday it was 3,493 and similar numbers this passed week.
  13. 9 days in New York City in 2014. I made sure to visit spots famous in movies, like Times Square, Central Park, and the top observatory at the Empire State Building. To be honest, besides the sight seeing, I was more looking forward to the food. Made sure to visit one of Bobby Flay's restaurants, for example. And ate some Brooklyn pizza.

  15. Like a broken record. When people don't wear their masks. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/03/us/california-stay-at-home-order.html
  16. Looking for a dash cam to buy for my mom’s new car. Think I’ll find better luck on cyber Monday.
  17. Here we used to get 200 to 300 Covid cases a day. Now it’s 1,500 a day. But I’ve noticed that people are buying smaller portions for Thanksgiving. Meaning some are actually adhering to the CDC’s advice not to travel this year for turkey day.
  18. My mom is doing the cooking. I work on Turkey Day. We usually follow Gordon Ramsay’s recipes with some of our own additions. Going with a 12lb butterball turkey this year.
  19. I'm curious if my store's hours are going to be the same after curfew starts tomorrow because we are currently open way passed 10pm.
  20. https://abc7.com/governor-newsom-california-curfew-gavin-los-angeles/8101518/ Super yikes. Like how are they going to enforce this. Good thing I still have my company's letter from March in my car that says I can be out passed that time because I'm an essential worker.
  21. https://timesofsandiego.com/politics/2020/11/16/governor-moves-28-counties-to-purple-tier-as-covid-surges-across-california/ >insert sad pepe meme here<
  22. We passed one million Covid cases in my state. Governors on the west coast issued traveler advisories in that traveling should only be for essential needs. Hah. Right before Thanksgiving.
  23. Even the governor of Utah caved and issued a statewide order to wear masks. Although it took their state’s healthcare system to be overwhelmed, which is disgusting.
