I wouldn’t regard bots as being unethical personally but opinions differ. If I wanted to buy a modern GPU I sure as hell would be using a bot off GitHub to maximize my chances. 

I never claimed miners provide value to the world. I’m just annoyed that gamers don’t understand that if you apply the same method of thinking to their argument, the results are near identical. 
I would consider myself to be neutral. I own exactly $1 of Bitcoin, which would require exponential growth to make it in any way worthwhile. I barely play games, I’m more interested in their production, their potential and the history of the medium. I honestly couldn’t care less which side will ‘win’. 

Perhaps I misunderstood the intention, but I understood that reply as that they shouldn't cater to either party.
 
I think there are multiple things that make this tricky. For one there are like what, maybe a handful of AAA games per year(?) that come out and honestly justify a 3080 level card. Or what if I just go interested into gaming this month and want to play CP2077 as maxed out as possible, I suddenly wouldn't be "allowed" to buy a high end GPU, because you don't consider me a gamer for not knowing my history. Even LTT's VAG program is biased towards Linus's age group / demographic and that is a very core issue with all these things. You'll have to pass moral judgement on who you do and do not consider a "valid gamer", and nobody wants to seriously touch that with a 10 km pole.

Or maybe it's because people don't feel the need to upgrade every generation and that the MSRP keeps going up every generation making ANY upgrades less beneficial overall. the 1060 is still a very capable card.
 
If your current hardware is meeting your needs, why waste money on something better if you're not going to be utilising the addtiional power?
 
I dispute this. Based on the posts on this forum, on reddit, news articles etc, I would same Gamers are actually pretty stupid. They get tunnel vision to such an extreme that they lose all critical thinking and speak based on purely emotion when things don't go their way.
