Yeah but I love to clean my PC and repaste the CPU. It's what I do when I want some relax on Saturday morning! 😂

So, first of all, thanks to y'all!

    I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.2GHz OC.
I play sports games, as NBA, FIFA etc...

That's what I've decided to do:
I'll not buy anything else, I'll stay with my Arctic cooler.

I'm going to buy air conditioning for my room, 'cause yes, my PC is suffering with all this hot weather but even the PC's owner is suffering with this hot weather 😆

Even because when it's less hotter I'm very happy about my PC performance.

    SO: thanks again to y'all!

If your computer(s) are heating the room up by 8-10C over ambient room temperature, perhaps just find a way to vent the heat with a fan rather than an AC unit (which will consume a lot of power and be noisier than a fan).

If you can vent the hot air and the ambient temperature is comfortable, fans might work!

You really shouldn't replace thermal paste that often, it doesn't get bad for several years, and there's more risk of damaging something  than anything with that frequent repastes...
Your GPU temps aren't that bad, but 60C idle CPU (which one btw?) isn't even normal (my 5900X idles at 43C with 27C ambient rn), and you don't tell your gaming and load CPU temps
If you want better temps, get a better aircooler or 240mm+ AIO, and add fans to create a good airflow

120 AIOs are absolute garbage.  Don't buy them.

I don't even know if it'd beat the esports duo.  Any AIO below 240mm is trash.  (And there are even Air Coolers that are as good, or better, than most 240 AIOs.)

What you need to remember, coolers work in regards to "change of temperature over ambient"

So if you move your ambient up 10 degrees?  your CPU Temp will do the exact same thing.

FreqEvans reacted to Needfuldoer in Best cooling for a PC in a very hot room
Changing thermal paste and cooling solutions won't solve your problem, because your PC is still going to generate the same amount of heat, and any conventional solution is going to dump that heat into your room.

You need air conditioning to pump that heat to outside, or a water cooling radiator positioned outside to carry your computer's heat out. (Your temps may suffer a bit by doing this, since you'll only be able to get your water temperatures down to outdoor ambient without some kind of refrigerant cycle.)

Dont waste money on 120mm AIOs. Sounds to me that you dont have your case fans running at adequate speeds. Either way those temperatures arent too bad. If you are worried about your temperatures, try using FanControl and using more aggressive fan curve on your fans.

    damm ...such a shame.
I suppose the upside if you have the budget it is an opportunity to upgrade. that said I am also using an X570  aourus master with the 5900x and not looking to upgrade anytime soon.
I suppose X570s have dropped quite a lot in price now so hopefully the expense is nothing to extreme.

No I haven't... I'm using and AMD processor with no graphics
With no GPU inside the LED stays on at VGA

If I plug a GPU the LED goes on BOOT and shutdown itself, even if there aren't any drives installed in it. Even only with NVMe or the other way around.

    So I think it's MoBo...

    Bad news (for me 😆)
Connected the old PSU to CPU, MoBo and GPU. Disconnected every drives.

The LED did the same thing as shown in the video. VGA.. Boot and then shutdown.

Connecting it only to CPU and MoBo the LED remains on VGA without shutting the PC down.

    I'm a bit confused 😕

I was going to suggest that if the thermal pads were ever replaced they may have been replaced with either too thick or too stiff of pads. If the pads were replaced incorrectly then the cooler would not make good contact with the gpu core and this would cause 1. overheating 2. bending of the pcb 3. thermal paste to dry out too quickly. If you pull the card out of the case and can see a visible bend to the PCB near the core of the card when viewed horizontally then you might want to replace the thermal pads with thinner ones. You can also confirm good GPU contact by inspecting the pattern left by the thermal paste after the cooler is removed. If it is a thin almost vacant even coverage then that is a good sign.

I also checked your build in your profile. You have 5 case fans plus an AIO (therefore no additional heat from the CPU since it should be radiating its hot air outside the case). Even if you idle your GPU fans, a 125W GPU should stay below 60c (given 20-24c room temp). I actually just built a very similar system for my brother, and even without a CPU aio on the 100W CPU, I cant get his 1660 TI to reach 55C (20c room temp).

All this said, you could find an issue and it still not change anything. 73c isn't technically thermal throttling on most cards, you probably lose 50-150mhz due to Nvidia's heat management utilities, but that is maybe 3-10% performance. (on second thought, it could actually be hotspot throttling if you actually aren't making good contact between core and cooler which could 15-20% performance. You can use GPU-z to check the hotspot temp, it should be 15-25c more than the average temp).

Since you are on 3rd gen Ryzen you could also check for sync'd infinity fabric. In your bios confirm that your ram speed is 2x your FCLK clock speed. This will ensure that your GPU and CPU are talking correctly and not causing major stuttering. This could account for 15-20% loss in performance, but most Bios's will auto these values to their necessary settings. This can only get thrown a loop when XMP or manual ram tuning is enabled (which you should at least attempt to enable XMP as ram speed is quite nice on ryzen especially older ones).

I'm probably rambling about efficiency too much though. I benchmark PC's for fun so I know a lot of in's and out's about performance losses and tuning issues. Nothing that I say should be immediate cause for concern or replace a parts upgrade. They are just some things to confirm if you would prefer to save up a bit more or hold your parts for a bit longer.

P.s. If you want to learn about overclocking I can also help but it is always good to find performance drains before looking for performance boosts.

Sorry to be the benchmarking nerd, but I have some questions about your current setup.

Regardless of workload, 73c is hot for a stock 1660 super with new paste. Also even on the highest settings you should be well over 100fps in most games.

When you repaste the card have you ever replaced the thermal pads?

FreqEvans reacted to Jon-Slow in It's time to upgrade! Yes, but... what?
What needs to be figured out is if your Adobe Premier work is more important or your games. the 3060 12gb is a good choice for an editing PC, of course more expensive cards would be better but then again, for a good video editing PC you'll need plenty more RAM first and the GPU comes second. For 1080p gaming both those GPUs will do fine, the 3060ti would be faster but with the 3060 12gb you might be able to get high texture in games that might give you trouble with 8gb.

Intel quick sync on K CPUs and the encoding benefits are very important for an editing PC as well. But how professional is your work and what priorities you have is important.

    Tell us your budget.

If you want to be using Adobe Premier, then you'll need the 13700K or 13900K. But you'll have to upgrade your motherboard too. And 16gb of RAM for editing is way too low.

The only thing that would really give me pause is that the M2 Mac mini might support 24GB of RAM like the MacBook Air. That's good if he does expect to use more memory in the future. Otherwise, look for a good deal on the M1 model with 16GB of RAM and have at it.

I predict that the m2 Mac mini will be more expensive.
If he is vibing with systems as old and HDD slow as those, an M1 mac will an amazing upgrade.
Unless he needs the 24GB of RAM from the M2; I don't think he would regret buying an M1.

Apple tends to support computers for about that long, so should be good. They juuuust phased out 2015 MBPs so that's 7 years of support. And typically you can still use an older mac for a few years until apps start to drop support for older OSes (and Apple still issues security updates for older OSes for an additional 3 years after they're phased out IIRC).
