  1. So, There is a friend who is looking to buy a good gaming laptop and we decided on a Lenovo Legion 5 which comes with a Ryzen 5 4600H, 8 gigs of RAM ( which will be later upgraded to 16 gigs), GTX 1650 with 4 Gigs of VRAM, 1TB HDD + 256 gig SSD. But recently, he came over a benchmark which showed that the GTX 1060 mobile is performing way better than the GTX 1650 mobile. I have searched for an answer/explanation for this. Can somebody tell me why it is like that so? Also which one should we go with? GTX 1060 or GTX 1650? If 1060 is the better answer, then kindly recommend us some laptops within Rs.90000/-.

PS: We're from India, so it would be helpful to recommend us the models that are available in India.

    Thanks 🙂

I wanted to learn more about photography, and know more about the "professional" modes and really properly shoot great photos.

Is the Canon EOS 4000D a good camera, does it have attachments that can help it become more... PRO?

I already own it, so give me your opinion and some advice.

It is a good camera for beginner photographers and it's user friendly for beginners to DSLRs.. If you want to learn more about shooting photographs and modes... Contact me on my PC(Personal Chat).

I just upgraded may power supply unit reseated my ram and it booted but my monitor is fluctuating and flickering and constant black screen. Replaced my hdmi with an hdmi to vga cable and it worked but when i tried to try my hdmi cable again theres nothing on the screen only black tried all troubleshooting tips from trying different hdmi cables to removing cmos battery but until now there's only black screen

with fans spinning led lights on, mouse and keyboard lights up but only black screen.

i think this is a problem of the motherboard but hopefully not and only the cables

Check your HDMI port whether it's fried or something...

Right now in my system I have a ASUS B450 (B450-F Strix)  motherboard, a Ryzen 5 2600 and a MSI RTX 2070 (Gaming Z). I get around 90 FPS in most games (ie. Overwatch, COD MW, No Mans Sky, Etc) and want to get a bit higher, would it be worth it to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3700X or a 3800X? How much performance difference should I expect or is it even worth the ~$350 investment?

You're setup is actually very good already... Upgrading to Ryzen 7 3700x would be worth the amount you'll be paying for it...

You'll be in the territory of 111 to 123 FPS after the upgrade I guess.... A 25 to 30 FPS increase is definitely a great upgrade... I think you should go for it!!

I tried GPU-Z but all I see are stats. Could you tell me how to check for faults? Like what to look out for?

Look for distortions on the screen or any colour lines that are formed... If these things happen it's probably the HDMI or the Monitor... But you're saying that there are some random restarts... Maybe do a disk clean up or use a recovery point from before these problems started incase something is corrupted.

Hi guys, so i'm quite confused what is the difference between Lian Li O11D and Lian Li O11D XL. Other than the 2 extra usb 3.0 ports at the front for Lian li O11D XL, what more?

Other than extra ports... Essentially it's larger and wider than the Lian Li O11D

I cant really leave my house to get the spare cable and monitor is office due to social distancing rules. Do you know if there is any software I can run to test my components?

You can run GPU-Z to check whether there is any fault on your GPU... As far as for the HDMI cable I don't think there is a software to check that. Will let you know if i find out anything...Until then try GPU-Z

    Greetings,

I've bought a PC that says "I am as budget as you can be"

It's a DELL Optiplex 7010 SFF , and when I saw it on the pictures, I did not think it would be this small

Now I want to change it's case for a much bigger one, but the power supply is a problem

It's not just the fact that it is only 240W, even if I was able to fit it in a bigger case, the cables are short, I've got more disks than I can fit (it can only fit 1 hard drive).

Also I can not put the case cover on it because my GPU and SSD are sticking out.

So I do have an older case with 300W power supply and much more space for it, now i ask WILL THE 300W FRY MY MOTHERBOARD and CAN I PUT ANYTHING ELSE INSTEAD OF THE HEATSINK THAT IS CURRENTLY ON IT (see picture)?

    CPU: i5 3Core 570 3.4-3.8GHz

    GPU: GTX 750 Ti

    HDD/SSD: 7200RPM seagate 500gb / Gigabyte 120GB 3gbit/s (plus 2 more drives i can not fit

    RAM: 3x4gb vengeance 1600 DDR3 1.5V

    Thank you in advance!

    IMG_20200416_135042.jpg

Don't know for sure if 300W is too much or sufficient for the setup... But there's probably not too much power that can fry you mobo.... You should probably get into a better heatsink solution than the current one... But it's still 3 cores.. So you won't be gaming too much that heat dissipation would be a problem... So i guess that heat sink is fine...

I just had a random black screen while launching a game. Since nothing was responding, I proceeded to unplug the HDMI cable from my gpu in an attempt to replug it but the pc was on restart the moment i plugged the hdmi back to my GPU. I can't really be sure if the unplug-replug caused the restart.

I had another weird experience a month ago where I tried to start my pc in the morning but my monitor remained black as if nothing was connected. After this experience, I noticed my gaming fps reduced from around 38 to 29.

Could anyone suggest some tests I can do to determine which hardware is causing the problem?

Try troubleshooting like plug your rig to another monitor... If the problem doesn't occur then probably problem with the port on the monitor.. If it still persists , then try any other HDMI cable and check if the HDMI cable is probably the problem... If there's still problem.. Then probably it's your GPU I guess....

Okay that's a decent rig to handle some of 4k with like 50 to 60 FPS... Or even lesser at high settings on games.. You have DisplayPort 1.4 so you can use that to get the full 5120x2160 resolution on the monitor you enquired about...

    Hello,

I'm in the search for a new monitor.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Lg's 5k2k ultrawide would pair well with my dell xps 9570.

I know it is hard to power something like it with just a laptop but I won't game on it or anything. Searching for something a little bit future proof.

Any advice is more than welcomed.

    Thank you very much

If you have display port or USB C to connect the laptop to the monitor then you'll get the full resolution out of it... If you give the specs of your rig... Then it would be easy to assess whether this upgrade is worthy or not.

Started working out my first PC build since this whole COVID-19 started lol, target range is $1500-2250 CAD not including peripherals. I'm looking for constructive criticism within a reasonable price margin, for simplicity sakes I want to avoid water cooling and would much rather upgrade to a heat sink when the time comes, but if a valid argument against what I'd prefer  exists I'd love to hear it. Future upgrades is therefore something I want to know about and based off of my limited understanded (hey, I'm new!) I'm already pretty sure you guy's will tear apart my choice in motherboard and CPU; btw that ain't a bad thing lol. If you have any experiences on these hardware pieces (especially if there's any incompatibilities!!) it'd save me atleast an hour or 2 lol, so with all of that said here's what I've got:

ASUS ROG Strix B450-F for $265

    Ryzen 7 2700X for $320

    VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB(2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600M for $174

    CX Series™ CX750M — 750 Watt 80 Plus Bronze Rating for $155

GIGABYTE Radeon RX Vega 64 DirectX 12 GV for $390

Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1Tb SSD for $220

    Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM008 2TB 3.5 7200rpm 64MB cache SATA III for $90

    Noctua NF-F12 PWM, 4-Pin Premium $23, each planning on buying 2 ($46)

Fractal Design Meshify C Black ATX High-Airflow Compact Mid Tower Computer Case comes with 2 X2 GP-12 fans for $110

Overall this build comes to $1770 before taxes and shipping, I'd love to hear anything from you guys, particularly BIOS things because I know nothing outside of youtube!!

Tbh, You're setup seems to be awesome actually and with that Ryzen 7 processor and the vega graphics , you're gonna be far better on the gaming side. And I'm not clear on what you're asking regarding the BIOS ... It would be helpful if you ask anything specifically. If you mean about the BIOS update, we can't surely tell anything about that.. If you try booting up the rig and if any part is not detected or properly working then also you can do basic troubleshooting and if still any problem exists... That's when you probably try for a BIOS update...

I am about to run out of storage for my PC so I ordered a new m.2 SSD. I want to transfer windows to my new SSD and give my brother the old one because he uses his PC much less. I Know there are lots of ways to transfer windows to a new drive but what is the safest and most reliable option.

You can clone the windows that is already existing on the drive you have by using OS cloning software...

You can get an Free and Open Source one of you search for OS Cloning.

    Hi Everyone,

After taking a break from gaming for 18 months, I’ve decided to get back into it just before my country went into the nationwide lock down. But this time, due to lack of time to source the parts I needed and for the sake of experiment, I went with a Gaming Laptop instead of building a rig. I got myself an Asus TUF FX505DU which came with GTX1660 ti GPU. I must say, I am quiet impressed with its performance and value for money I got for it. Given that it is a budget gaming laptop, it only comes with a single HDMI 2.0 port. I still have my old ASUS 27” 144 Hz monitor from 2012. Though it is still doing “Okay”, I feel it is time to upgrade the monitor to an Ultra-wide curve monitor. And I have been looking at AOC CU34G2X 34” QHD VA monitor. Again, bangs for your bucks and very review I’ve seen so far has been very good.

So my question is as thus: will my laptop with GTX1660 ti and HDMI 2.0 supports 3440x1440 resolution which this monitor comes with by default? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative?

Thank in you all in advance for any comments.

HDMI 2.0 easily supports for outputting at 1440p at 144Hz ... So that's not a problem and also your rig is pretty decent on the gaming side because of the GTX 1660 Ti... So there is no problem in outputting 1440 Hz as you have HDMI 2.0 and the hardware to run 1440p at 144Hz. So I don't think you need an alternative... But if you're interested in getting a curved ultra wide monitor... You can go with some 27 inch LG ultra wide curved monitor... You can search that on Amazon.

Hello everybody, I am new to the site and I think I will enjoy my time a lot here. I hope can learn a lot but right now I am looking for some advice.

Lately my PC has been shutting off randomly, and I went to the local pc store (I live in Jordan) and got myself a pretty nice double cpu fan (cooler master MA410M) And I also bought myself a hard drive just to lessen the load on the other hard drives. When I did this, my PC'c CPU was very cool, it never went hot another time. However, my pc still kept shutting off(just came back 2 days ago) and I opened on the task manager nd noticed cpu running at 100 percent CONSTANTLY. I refreshed my windows in case there was anything else which was causing this issue to happen, and I noticed after refreshing it was still 100 percent. So it came to my mind that the CPU is dead, it has gone to the next life. So my idea is to buy a Ryzen 3600, B450 mobo, and 8 gigs of ddr4 ram. Now I am a student and finances are extremely tight, so my question is, is it alright if I keep my R7 370 GPU which still works well enough, or should I go ahead and just buy a new GPU too which would really tighten my finances during this pandemic? Another question, if I upgrade to ryzen 3600 and 8gb of ram and a good b450 mobo and keep the r7 370, how many frames more would I have if I gotten a new gpu?

Lets say I get 50 frames playing metro exodus using the 3 new parts I mentioned and my old r7 370, how many frames would i get if i got the 3 new parts AND a new budget gpu?

Thanks for all the help in advance.

That really depends on what GPU you get... Check whether the GPU you have can smoothly work without any bottle neck on the B450 mobo with the Ryzen 3600

    Hello
My friend bought new ram (2x8GB). After putting the rams into the slots, the computer won't boot.

Instead, the computer starts beeping rapidly, and won't even let you into BIOS.

I suggested restarting the bios into factory settings. That didn't solve the problem.
System won't boot even after changing to the previous rams (2x4GB).
I suspect that the motherboard is the problem, since two out of four slots are broken.

    PC specs:
    Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (Socket AM3+)
    Manual to the MB: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-990fxa-ud3_v.4.0_e.pdf
    CPU: FX-8350
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury HX316C10FRK2 16GB
(Can provide more info if needed)

    I'll welcome any suggestion.
    Thanks

Check if the ram are in the correct slots and also check whether the ram you have is compatible with the mother board.

So having looked over on CrystalDiskInfo out of curiosity my 640GB WD drive health status showed up as yellow/caution. Having searched this up apparently it means that this hard drive it's at the end of it's life and about to die. For starters this is my D drive and I have nothing important on it other than a couple of games and programs so I'm not losing much. Then I downloaded the WD utility from their website, at first the quick test which is a SMART self-test came up as failed, anyway so I ran the extended test and after 2 hours it finished and came up as a pass, I ran the quick test again and it came up as a pass, I did it another 2 times and still came as a pass. So I'm slightly confused to the state of my hard drive. If the hard drive breaks it's not a huge issue since I bought it for 8£ on the 1st of march from my local CEX and came with a 24 month warranty so if it does break I'll get the full warranty.

    image.png.4ad8d16d19d2d1bad0a75fbc3627ee0f.pngimage.png.d5fe000cad22f01a3e2b35211b1cf395.png

So is my hard drive dying, and how long will it last if at all?

In your test results, if you can see... There are mainly two things visible which are not proper and is being reported as a yellow flag.. Which is the Sector Count... This is a warning that there are actually some bad sectors in your drive. This means that this situation will only get worse in the later times... So you better backup all your stuff and either get ready to claim warranty or buy a new HDD or an SSD

    Hi all,

So my goal was to build a PC that plays games at 1440p on highest graphics setting, on average. 144hz is ideal but willing to sacrifice for sake of budget.

I know little to nothing about building a PC and have created this list via avg ratings of each component and reviews that target my specific goals. That said, I don't understand how to identify incompatibility and bottle necking, which is why I am here to get feedback.

Finally, my budget requires me to stick as close to $900-$1000 as possible, I've already blown it by pushing this build to $1200, so please keep that in mind when making your recommendations.

    I appreciate it!

You're setup is actually pretty decent... Although my advice is to go full SSD than that 1TB HDD and 120GB SSD..., Instead of that you could do a 1TB SSD. I don't think there might be any bottle neck as your motherboard can handle the CPU and GPU.
