  1. Budget (including currency): €1200 with monitor, mouse and keyboard Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch, R6, Valorant, LOL and if possible a singleplayer like Cyberpunk. I aim for 1080p 144hz in competitive games Other details: I would prefer a pre-built (because of upgradability and i don't need portability) but as far as I can see prices in Italy are way too inflated for such builds and with how many variables there are with laptops I don't know what to look for, any suggestion? If you mind looking on italian sites for prices you can also say the name of a system you know is good and i'll research further. thank you.
  2. Hello everyone, sorry for my bad English, tell me if something is not clear enough and I'll try to explain myself in a better way. Today I bought a new SSD (Samsung EVO 860) and I installed it on my old laptop, I run the windows bootable media to install Windows but the installer always crashed saying it couldn't create a new partition on the drive (I tried to clean and manually create partitions with diskpart, but it didn't work). Afraid the SSD was faulty I tried to install A Linux distro from my laptop onto it and it worked without any problem, but when i powered up the PC it booted up directly into the BIOS and there wasn't any SSD detected by the sata port (it just said "EMPTY"). I did try some other things that I'll list now, keep in mind that at every step i tried with or without csm on, partitioned the new drive in GPT or MBR accordingly, the old HDD is partitioned in GPT and it boots through uefi, the sata configuration is set AHCI and secure boot disabled, the laptop boots fine from the old HDD So i tried: - Flashing a new BIOS - Installing the new SSD on my desktop pc with all the other drives disconnected and installed windows both UEFI and LEGACY, the SSD booted up in windows fine in my desktop pc but when i inserted it in my laptop the BIOS didn't even recognized it. - same thing as above but with linux manjaro instead of windows, same results. - manually partitioned the new SSD for a uefi installation and run the windows installation tool from my laptop, the tool crashed every time. - cloned the old HDD (320GB) on my new SSD (500GB) with the dd command on linux, but again the laptop didn't recognize the SSD. - Tried my working desktop SSD (Samsung evo 860 too) with manjaro installed on my laptop but it had the same problem. If it's of any help the laptop is an ASUS F555L with an intel i7, nvidia 820M, the original HDD was a seagate 1TB that i swapped out some years ago with an old 320GB WD (the seagate one failed), even when I replaced the seagate the WD one was the only one the bios detected from a pool of 3 others HDD. Is there something I'm missing? What can prevent the BIOS from detecting other drives? thanks for your help!
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. I can cancel it for free, I did ask for help on this forum and on an italian one where they suggested the B3, when i posted the list here for a second opinion the guys/gals that helped me were pretty neutral because they didn't know the PSU but they saw it ranked B on the tier list. If you don't have any other suggestions I'll change the B3 with the TXM. Thanks again. Unfortunately the BitFenix has 30€ of additional shipment costs.
  4. I bought it yesterday so i can cancel the order. The TX550M is the same price but i'm not sure it is the 2017 one (I believe it makes the difference, otherwise it wouldn't be specified on the Tier list). I don't know what to believe now.
  5. So a few days ago i posted asking for help for building my first rig, and that's the result: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (€188.58 @ Amazon Italia) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (€116.43 @ Amazon Italia) Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (€79.99 @ Amazon Italia) Storage: Sabrent Rocket 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (€69.99 @ Amazon Italia) Video Card: PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Red Dragon Video Card (€429.14 @ Amazon Italia) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox MB511 ATX Mid Tower Case (€38.99 @ Amazon Italia) Power Supply: EVGA B3 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€75.00) Total: €998.12 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available After researching a little bit more about the components i bought I discovered that the B3 has some serious safety issues, someone says that those issues are now resolved but i can't find anything concrete on google. Is the B3 safe? are this PSUs better?: - Corsair TXM 550W (75,54€ on Amazon Italia) - Corsair CXM 550W (72,98€) The CXM is classified as Tier B (same as B3), while the TXM 2017 is tier A, even if I can't tell if the selected model is the 2017 one. Both of them aren't fully modular (not that it's too important to me) and they don't have an ECO mode like the B3. And lastly, are 550W enough? I saw that the 5700XT has 650W has recommended power output.
  6. if anyone is interested this is what i end up with: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (€187.08 @ Amazon Italia) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (€111.89 @ Amazon Italia) Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (€84.99 @ Amazon Italia) Storage: Crucial MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (€66.00) Video Card: PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Red Dragon Video Card (€435.26 @ Amazon Italia) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox MB511 ATX Mid Tower Case (€40.99 @ Amazon Italia) Power Supply: EVGA B3 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€75.00) Total: €1001.21 If you have any other suggestions I'm happy to hear them! Thanks!
  7. Thanks a lot! I'll follow your suggestions. Just two more question, how does the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€85) compare with the Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (€84)? Do i need to update the B450 tomahawk max BIOS in order to use it with the 3rd gen ryzen?
  8. Thanks! What about buying a smaller SSD and buying this Gigabyte Nvidia RTX2060 Super Windforce OC 8G (432,83 €) or the PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (435,26 €). Because I honestly don't think i'll need 1TB SSD storage at the moment, but i don't know if those GPUs are worth 40€ more.
  9. What about the Silicon Power A80 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State?
  10. A little bit of background: I'm in the process of building my first rig, i asked help in an italian's forum (because that's where i'm going do buy the parts) and came up with this build. The budget is €1000 on the amazon.it store. some other infos: A t the moment i have a 1080p 75hx monitor, but I'm planning to upgrade it in the future I don't need an HDD right now, I'll buy it in the future and focusing more budget on other more expensive components. I already have all the other peripherals. In the other forum they suggested me to either buy the ryzen 3600 + a CPU cooler or to buy the 3600x and use the Stock cooler. They also suggested me to buy a 80+ bronze 550W PSU, but I'm not sure about it And that's it, Can't wait to hear your suggestions LTT forums, Thanks in advance!
