  1. just to end the topic... I got 3 x Noctua NF-S12A PWM - 120mm and they are simply amazing! They fit just right and they are soooo silent!
  2. I'll get the Noctua NF-S12A PWM then. thank you guys!
  3. Howdy folks, I have an NXZT H440 case and in the specs say I've been looking into replacement fans as one the bearing is ruined and they are a bit loud, so I've been checking prices of the Noctua NF-S12A but they came with all 3 flavors and I have no idea what to get case contains a PWM controller, should I buy the PWM fans as well? or I'm ok with FLX (or ULN) ? should I even consider other brands like Crossair?
  4. I removed my DAC (AudioEngine D1) and it still does the weird noises with the cable directly connected to the computer headphone jack... will try using my phone as audio source to see if I get the same (to remove the computer out of the question) what have you find out?
  5. though the Samsung is only 120Hz... you almost need 2 graphic cards to hold that beast at a continuous 120fps remember that super ultra wide is around 5120x1440 (7.3m pixels) and to draw that amount of pixels, 120 times a second... you need a big "stake" to feed into that screen I'm on the same "ship", I'm also looking into 1440p super/ultra wide, and going that size, 100Hz is enough for me as I would need way more than my old 1080Ti to push those fps to the max of the screen I leave you with my current choices, there's no AOC as they have a terrible technical support, and I want to avoid that: (prices in USD) ---------------------------------------- $$ Msi MAG341CQ 3440x1440 VA 100Hz 4ms DVI/HDMI/DP (390) Dell AW3418DW 3440x1440 IPS 120Hz 4ms HDMI/DP (600) Benq EX3501R 3440x1440 VA 100Hz 4ms DP/HDMI/USB-C (750) Asus XG35VQ 3440x1440 VA 100Hz 4ms DP/2xHDMI (700) $$$ Asus PQ348Q 3440x1440 IPS 100Hz 5ms HDMI/DP (900) LG 34GK950G-B 3440x1440 IPS 120hz 1ms HDMI/DP (900) MSI MPG341CQR 3440x1440 VA 144hz 1ms 2xHDMI/DP (1100) Dell AW3420DW 3440x1440 IPS 120Hz 4ms HDMI/DP (1200) 49'' Samsung RG9 5120x1440 VA 120hz 4ms HDMI/2xDP (1100) Samsung odyssey g9 5120x1440 VA 240hz 1ms HDMI/DP (will come in 2020) ---------------------------------------- it's up to you to choose the one that fits your wallet the best
  6. You do understand that this is more like Lifx/Philips Hue than a simple strip right? I mean, you have tactic panels for start, and programmable, so you can say when you touch one, or slide over some do this or that ...

    IPS or TN

@Berko142 100% true ... believe me, I have 2 TN panels!!! 24'', 2560x1440, 1ms, 144Hz ... sounded amazing, I even bought 2!! but then ... Seeing movies bled my eyes, games are ok when they are moving ... soon I stop or in game menu ... ohhhh... my eyes! TN Panels are terrible doing degradé coloring, and it's just bad bad bad... I would choose (err, I will) a VA panel, as IPS is very good for people that do video/photo editing and color corrections ... I don't, I'm just a web developer and gamer here's some pictures and video so you can see how bad it is in a TN panel: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HW6fkkxakq5JTjcc7 as I said before:
  9. Does anyone have this product? Any comments, does it really worth around 200 bucks for 9 panels?
  10. Yes, IPS panels you get get better color reproduction overall ... but not with good VA Panels, and yes, no doubts, better image in wider angles ... but are you thinking of siting down aside and watch the screen? or havin' the screen do be a "public" display where you want to see it from afar and maybe side ? if it's mainly to see in front of the screen, why spend money on a IPS panel where we can get a great VA Panel for much less? IPS: + better color reproduction + better colors across wider view angles - refresh rates - response times VA: + better refresh rates + better contrast - not good view angles - color reproduction lower than IPS TN: don't even look at those ... I have 2... do. not. buy. them. if you want a screen for gaming without spending much: VA panels will delivery better 2 things: contrast (HDR!) and refresh rates (great for FPS games)... if you want for video/photo editing and color correction ... IPS! Sorry, I'm not into 27'' panels ... I only did my homework with 34'' and larger.
  11. You will get better features with VA panels, IPS's have better image across wider angles (then again, we're always looking in front, and the curvature makes you don't get far from the edges)... as today, I would rather have an VA panel, you save the money and you get better refresh rates and contrast levels than IPS panel... for the same amount of money or course... don't wanna get challenged by a X35 screen

    HDR

To get the most of Netflix in a computer, you need to use the Windows App https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/netflix/9wzdncrfj3tj?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
  13. it's only 8 cm higher... 27'': 614 x 365 mm 35'': 836 x 445 mm Yes! the immersion in gaming plus more and more games have now Wide Screen support... is totally worth it (of course, it's all of a personal taste, and I do love it!)... try first, go to a store and check the ultra wide ones... the LG price vs the Benq EX3501R is almost the same... (that's why I'm so keen to swap my 2 screen for it) you also have more good ultra wide screens for the same price range - BenQ EX3501R (3440x1440, VA, 100Hz, 4 ms, HDMI/DP/USB-C) - Asus XG35VQ (3440x1440 VA, 100Hz, FreeSync, 4 ms, 2500:1, DP/2xHDMI) - MSI MAG341CQ (3440x1440 VA, 100hz, 4ms, 3000:1, DVI/HDMI/DP) But remember, no matter what choice you make, it's all about YOU! it's your feeling and happiness that comes first, so, 25'', 27'' or ultra wide, it's all about your money vs what you will fell when using such monitors I know I will only be happy with a ultra wide
  14. both amazing for the price ... then again, I would think going ultrawide
  15. I believe that if the LG would be correctly calibrated, it would have better specs... some results are to way off to be "correctly calibrated", I think the tests are simply "factory screens"... but remember, it's all about what are you doing with it, video/photo editing where you need colors to be precise vs video and gaming where you really don't need that precision to be perfect!

    HDR

@Jordanvt45 I just found this when looking at a screen review: starting at 02:43 he actually had a faulty cable and that was why he could not enable HDR on Windows 10. ohh, and skip to 05:39 when he talks about Windows HDR and that he had to turn it off...
  17. Mostly developing (web, windows, mac, iot) It's what I have at work, and I hate the TN panels I have at home ... no gradient can be reproduced and I see a lot of movies... I will still have the two panels, I might just put them up to have more screen space for something like dashboards... TN panels suck on gradients: That's how I see movies (even Youtube... no kidding!) - the gradient and when in Game menu ... arrghhhh!!! ... (i'm back, uff) After I re-found PowerToys, now for Windows10.. I fall in love for the big screens once again (3 years ago I demanded the office to buy me a Dell 34'', and I use that every day since). I know my pixel real-estate will drop as 2 x 2560 > 3440, but I tend to use only one screen (Visual Studio) anyway, and it's always off-center (either right or left monitor), or simply try to sell them...
  18. Hi guys, So I'm in the market to replace my 2xDELL S2417DG (TN panel, 1ms, 2560x1440) for a wide screen (34'' minimum) As a developer, I work every single day at the computer and I play at night, mostly World Of Tanks, but also other adventure games like TombRaider alike... (not a CS/Dota/Battlefield fan though) I'm searching for a minimum of a 34'' screen, with at least 3440x1440 and around 100Hz refresh rate for the gaming part,... I also, not looking into Samsung monitors, cause the reviews suck, there's always some greenish or death pixels after a while and I really do not want to go that road. If it has the USB-C port, it would be a must, as I own 2 laptops with thuderbolt connection (DELL and MBAir)... at work I have the Dell 3415W (but's it's 60Hz) I would also love if it was 1500R or 1900R I felt in love for the LG 38'' (LG 38WK95C-W) but the 75Hz just puts me a bit off track My current list - LG 38WK95C-W (3840x1600 IPS, 75Hz, 5ms, 1000:1, HDR10, 2xHDMI/DP/USB-C) - $$$ - BenQ EX3501R (3440 x 1440, VA, 100Hz, 4 ms, HDMI/DP/USB-C) - $$ <- money saving option - Asus XG35VQ (3440x1440 VA, 100Hz, FreeSync, 4 ms, 2500:1, DP/2xHDMI) - $$ - MSI MAG341CQ (3440x1440 VA, 100hz, 4ms, 3000:1, DVI/HDMI/DP) - $$ - LG 34GK950G-B (3440x1440 IPS, 120hz, 1ms MBR, G-SYNC, 10000:1, HDMI/DP) - $$$ - Dell AW3418DW (3440 x 1440, IPS, 120Hz, 4 ms, 1000:1, HDMI/DP) - $$$ - MSI MPG341CQR (3440x1440 VA, 144hz, 1ms, 3000:1, 1800R, HDR400, 2xHDMI/DP) - $$$ <- pay more for specs option Does anyone owns any of these or has experience with them? What are your suggestions? ...and no, I have no money to buy something like the X35
  19. I use a lot the SD card reader, but I opted-out for a cheap solution, a simple card/usb docking connected to USB3
  20. I love my NZXT H440, give it a look ... ohh, anything from NZXT is lovely
  21. please avoid TN panel ... I have 2... I know what is like to live with them after 1 year with them, I'm in the market for a VN panel now ... movies are terrible! games you don't feel it that bad, but when you're in the menus or something "still" ... ohh boy
  22. if you're willing to drop the refresh rate to 100Hz, there's a lot of options ... I don't think my GTX1080 will output 144fps anyway on such beasts of monitors ... hence, myself, looking into a 34'' (I have to feel immerse in the game... no more smaller screens)... as now, my options are: - BenQ EX3501R (3440x1440 VA, 100hz, 4ms MBR, Freesync, HDMI/DP) - Asus XG35VQ (3440x1440 VA, 100Hz, FreeSync, 4 ms, 2500:1, DP/2xHDMI) - MSI MAG341CQ (3440x1440 VA, 100hz, FreeSync, 4ms, 3000:1, DVI/HDMI/DP) - MSI MPG341 (3440x1440 VA, 144hz, 1ms, 3000:1, 1800R, HDR400, 2xHDMI/DP) [almost double the price of MAG] if I win the Lotto - Asus PG35VQ (3440x1440 VA, 200hz, 4ms, G-Sync, HDR1000, Quandum-Dot, HDMI/DP) My heart if going into the MPG341 if I get a good discount on BlackFriday deals, or the XG35 if no MSI deal ...
  23. if you are looking into that page stats, you can see that a lot of numbers are low because the screen was not correctly calibrated... but hey ... as long as you're happy!
  24. @Dipypang you have the same specs on the LG 27GL850 the good thing is that LG uses their nano-IPS technology from https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27GL850-gaming-monitor Nano IPS 1ms response time 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) Nano IPS Display NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync™) 144Hz refresh rate HDR 10 (this means an app or game can see it's a HDR screen - it's only metadata - thanks @Glenwing) here's a very detailed comparison https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/gigabyte-ad27qd-vs-lg-27gl850/757/912
