  1. Helped a friend build their PC. They got a MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600g as their CPU. After finishing the build and turning it on, there was no post on the monitor. We've checked to make sure all the cables and components are put in place correctly and all the way. We took it apart and rebuilt it from square 1 in case we missed something too. Still nothing. Can't get into the bios too. On the motherboard, there is a debug light on this part of the motherboard. The one on is the CPU light. I assumed this is because the motherboard isn't compatible with the 5000 series out of the box and we had to update the bios. So we tried. We downloaded the update file on a USB, plugged it into the motherboard, and pressed the flash bios button. Nothing happened. The red light that should turn on to indicate it's updating wasn't turning on. What could possibly be the issue? Do we need to purchase an older chip like the 3600?
  2. Where would this ubuntu iso be? I don't know what it is.
  3. I recently bought a new MSI monitor, the Optix G271. Everyone works great and as advertised, 144hz, 1080p, and all that. But after installing and some use, I noticed my mouse keeps teleporting to the top right of the screen. I'm not sure why this happens. I restarted my pc and checked to see if any drivers needed updating. But the problem is still persisting. This was happening at stock settings on the monitor. I have the Corsair Harpoon RGB mouse. Any ideas?
  4. Chose out some parts for my girlfriend. She only has a Macbook Pro, and she really wants to have a fast, computer. She says she doesn't want it to be over 1000$USD, and I did manage that, but only by a little. If possible, can you help bring that cost down? She's only gonna be using one monitor, and the keyboard and mouse are already taken care of. System is going to be mainly used for web-browsing and gaming. 5. Just installed Windows 10 Pro without a key. Been using it for a couple of days, and some of the limitations that come with not having a key is a little annoying. Where would the best place be to buy a key for Windows 10 Pro? A place where they don't steal your card information or resell the key to another user. And also not over $100.
  6. Exactly as the title asks. Will the stock cooler be able to cool an overclocked 2700x? How loud will it be, if so? Is it even worth it?
  7. Ah, okay. That makes sense, thank you. And how can I tell whether a male or female thread is facing me?
  8. Yup, the standoffs are installed already. And I have two bags of 6-32 screws. Which one should I use? And what about the screws in the "Standoff" bag? It only came with two which seemingly go together.
  9. I'm installing the ASUS Prime X470-Pro into NZXT's H510 Model with a bunch of bags filled with screws in front of me. The standoffs were also already preinstalled. I'm very confused on which bag to use to install the motherboard, and I've looked around tons on the internet but couldn't find an answer as to which bag of screws to use. The bags of screws are labeled as follows: -Standoffs -6-32 screw Hexagon -kb 5*10 screw -M3*5 Flat -6-32 screw flat If possible, can you all also help me with identifying the other screw's uses? Thank you in advance!
  10. Oooohhhhh that makes more sense lmao. Thanks for telling me though! Hopefully we'll get one in Iowa soon if I email them haha
  11. So if I sent an email to that address asking if they're willing to ship a Ryzen 7 2700x a state over, they'll consider it? Or am I misunderstanding? If that's the case, I'm sorry for being a dummy dumb lol.
  12. The reason why I'm going with the 2700x is because I want to do other things other than game, so this is a nice middle ground between them. The extra cores and threads will really help!
  13. Oof, that's a HUGE price difference lol. Are you still happy with your purchase?
  14. Ya lucky duck, lmao. And I'll hope with you that the 3700X will go down to your desired price! And have fun with your Odyssey+! I've always wanted to try VR. And I looked up LGA2066 CPUs on Micro Center, and still got two results. I wonder why it's not showing up for you.
  15. I know how you feel, and I completely agree on how it doesn't beat Micro center's price tag on it. Only problem I have with Micro Center is its limited store quantity. The nearest one to me is four hours away in Chicago, sadly, so I believe this cut is more valuable for the people who are in the same situation as me and aren't in a close proximity to a Micro Center.
  16. The Ryzen 2700x got a price cut of around $20 USD on both Newegg and Amazon to $169.99 USD. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Do you think the price will lower even more as we get closer to Black Friday/Cyber Monday? Or will it stay the same and people who were eyeing this CPU should buy right now, like myself.
  17. The two cases are the Montech Air 900 Mesh White and Fractal Design’s Meshify C White. I was originally going to buy the Meshify C, but I’m now having second thoughts after seeing Montech’s case. The price is cheap, and from what I’ve read, pretty good airflow too. I also like the design quite a bit. I was going to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday and hope Meshify’s case price drops, but I’m not seeing any sign of that happening. TL;DR Montech’s case, overall at least, seems better on paper. It’s price is cheap too, compared to the Meshify C. Help me choose, please!
  18. So it seems that there is a general consensus of buying the kit now. Thank you all for your help!
  19. This kit, Trident Z Royal, has dropped in price quite a bit, and I'm worried if the stock will still be available by Black Friday. But then there's the possibility of it dropping in price even more, and I don't want to spend the money now when I can still save. Then there's also the possibility of the price going up instead of down during Black Friday. I'm super conflicted on what to do, so I would appreciate everyone's input.
  20. I would. That's what I'm doing, and since AMD is going to release a couple new CPUs this month, the price for the 2700 may drop even more than it already has.
  21. Don't worry about me locking myself into a single product. I'm already also looking at a couple of other gpus on amazon, and I am keeping track of their price fluctuations. Sorry for not clarifying that in my original post.
  22. Stressing out over this. Black Friday/Cyber Monday is coming up soon, and it's the time I want to buy all my PC parts. I'm looking at this exact GPU. Paired with this case. The Meshify C is known to be a very compact case and comes with two fans included. I'm not sure if the Gigabyte RTX 2060 will even fit. Which will be my worst nightmare as this is the first pc I am building. Thank you for your help in advance!
