  1. Open Windows update and then open the update log, look at the details of the fail updates and just google the update name and error code and there might be some info online about the update failing. If that doesn't work I would try these options Navigate to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete all the contents of the folder. Open CMD as admin, and run "sfc -scannow" Clean install Windows 10
  2. Have you tried repairing your Windows install off Windows installation media?
  3. Yes, if don't already have a preference on C++ or C# IDE's then I can highly recommend Visual Studio
  4. navigate to, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common" 64-bit Windows "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common" 32-Bit Windows "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common" OS X "~/.Steam/steamapps/common" Linux Then delete the contents of the folder
  5. There is nothing wrong with sleep mode, I use it every night
  6. I haven't had many issues with Windows 10, I had a problem with sleep functionality on my main PC, but that was fixed with a GPU driver update. Other than that I have had no issues on any other machines I have upgraded, but I see numerous posts on this forum about Windows 10 problems, I would wait a few months if it really matters to you that stability is 99.99% guaranteed
  7. boot into the Window installation media, create the Windows partition (Windows will create any other system partitions needed on the same disk) on the boot disk and don't touch your HDD, simple.
  8. I would never recommend selling HDD's because there is always the chance of data recovery, say that secure wipe didn't wipe all sectors accidentally. If you still want to sell it with the HDD I would secure wipe it, then reinstall Windows. I personally though would take out the HDD and sell it with out one or put a new HDD in it.
  9. Make sure the card is sitting firmly in the PCI-E slot and the PCI power is plugged in properly. I would reset any overclock you have on the card and if that doesn't work I would RMA the card.
  10. you mean mV not MV, MV is mega volts, I'm pretty sure a standard wall outlet is not capable of that voltage
  11. I would try updating the WiFi cards drivers
  12. Try this Update your motherboard's firmware Clear the CMOS If that doesn't help I would try this Install Windows 8.1, a few people are having issues with Windows 10 I would do this before declaring the GPU faulty
  13. Does your motherboard have an LED debug code?
  14. Well yeah of course C++ is harder than C# or Java, but that doesn't make it stupid, it is still used a lot for complex software that demands efficiency
  15. C# isn't an evolution of the C programming language directly. C++ is a superset of C Java was influenced by C++ C# was influenced by Java
  16. I wouldn't call C++ stupid, it has it's advantages and disadvantages. Advantages being that's it's very efficient. Disadvantages being that it is harder to learn and use. It is used in numerous game engines as the main language for a reason.
  17. It's going to be hard to find a new Z77 board, I would recommend just upgrading to skylake, this will mean new RAM, CPU and motherboard (of course)
  18. I'm seeing it from the situation of they don't know what they want and am asking to see what I recommend, I'm not going to recommend something I don't like to use that I potentially have to fix at a later date. If those factors mean nothing to them, then there is no reason to choose one over the other, but of course if someone want's your opinion then you will always be a bit biased towards your preference.
  19. Do a clean reinstall of GPU drivers
  20. My current PC, it has changed a bit from when I built it though. Case: Bitfenix Shinobi Windowed Mid-tower ATX Motherboard: ASUS Z97-PRO CPU: i7-4770k CPU Cooler: Stock RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 1600Mhz 16GB (2x 8GB kit) Storage: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM GPU: ASUS DCUII GTX 770 OC 2GB PSU: Corsair CX600M Changes: Added - Samsung 850 Pro 256GB Noctua NH-D15
  21. Anything Apple Why? I don't like OS X (It's locked down to Apple Hardware) I want to build my own PC from brands of components that I choose not Apple I don't like iOS (Super locked down, and It's locked down to Apple hardware) Yes I know you can gain root access on iOS, but that can be a real pain in the ass to do and updates become a pain. Yes I know you can do a hackintosh, but that's a pain in the ass, hardware selection is a lot slimmer and just the fact you OS X was never built to be run on non-mac components, so it's a bit of a hack as the name implies. Even then though if OS X wasn't locked down to Apple hardware, I would still choose Linux and Windows over OS X as Linux is more configurable and Windows has better software support. TL;DR Apple is too closed off for me Prebuilt desktop PC's I would rather build it myself.
  22. Yes you will be able to roll back to Windows 8.1 (Open settings, go to update and security, go to Recovery and click get started on the Go back to Windows 8.1 option) Yes, unfortunately Yes the DX12 API is going to be exclusive to Win10
  23. My preference is OBS, but OBS can be a bit hard to use for someone new to screen capture, I would recommend XSplit
