Ichoumaz got a reaction from Deli in Ryzen 5 3600 High temps
i have not done that, i'm not that experience with overclocking, just the basic stuff from what i saw on jay's videos on overclocking, i just set the ratio and Vcore, played with them a bit untill they were stable, but other than that, i havent check yet, i'm still waiting for my new cooler before i mess with it anymore, i should be getting it tomorrow and i'll do a bios update as well, maybe that will do something

ahhh ok, mine was the old stock for sure, bought it a few months after it was released, maybe i'll save up money and get the new 5600X when that comes out,but i dont know if i'll be able to feel a tangible difference in performance between even if i could clock it at a higher speed

Ichoumaz got a reaction from Moonzy in Voltage Control
true true, the issue isnt with knowing which one to buy, and more about which one is available for me here, but alas, thank you all for the help

Ichoumaz got a reaction from Ilvantari in Rx570 vs rx580.
those prices hit the nail right on the head, going with the rx 580 gives you about 19% more performance in games over the rx 570 for being exactly 19% more expensive, i would say go for it, get the rx 580

Ichoumaz got a reaction from rfitz123 in Will motherboard post with slower RAM?
no, you should be all good, from looking at this spec sheet, seeing that your speed is supported, plus its usually the other way around, ram incompatibility usually goes from top to bottom, not bottom to top, meaning that mobo's have a maximum ram speed limit and not a minimum ram speed limit as far as i know, although this recommandations suggest otherwise https://pangoly.com/en/review/msi-b450m-pro-m2-max/compatibility/ram since it does not suggest any 2400Mhz ram kitsn so i suggest waiting to see more responses from other members that are a bit more knowledgable than me before making your decision, 2 heads better than 1, and 5 is better than 2

Ichoumaz got a reaction from HanZie82 in I think is just bricked my pc
looks like you need to do a fresh windows install, plenty of videos on youtube on how to do that, but if you cant get into windows, say good bye to your data, unless you can find another drive, take out your m.2 drive, install windows on the new drive, once that is up and running, turn off your pc, put in your m.2 driven and load into bios, make sure you are starting on the new drive that you just installed windows on, restart, back up your files to the new drive, and format the m.2 drive, then do it all over again, and this time install your windows back onto the m.2 drive, and copy your files from your back up drive to where ever you want them, then wipe that drive and you are done

I remember task manager being a lot more useful than this

Ichoumaz got a reaction from f2bacon in Is it even possible to save/upgrade my work pc?
An SSD will defenitly help alot, as for your ram, check if its running in dual channel or single channel, and once you verify that, go into the bios and check the frequency there, maybe it never got set up to its advertised speed , like most current DDR4 rams, even 3200 Mhz ones will usually run at 2133 MHz right out of the box, and you need to not really overclock it, but ust set it to its correct speed, i dont know what's your workload like, but if its an old program, 16gb is probably enough, if its possible to send a screenshot of task manager when the system is in full swing we can check if you are being bottelnecked by your ram capacity or no

Ichoumaz reacted to Windows7ge in Bios Updates
It doesn't take much to have a noticeable impact on temps. You only have to take off about 0.01V~0.025V at a time (in steps). Check for stability and you'll see the degrees start shaving off.

Ichoumaz reacted to Windows7ge in Bios Updates
A good rule of thumb is to not update the BIOS unless you have a specific reason to. If you don't have a real reason to you have more to lose than gain should something go wrong (such as a power outage).
Good reasons include:
Increase hardware compatibility Bug fixes Security patches Better overclocking (if you're into that) If you have an indecisive or spontaneous reason to do it then in all likelihood you shouldn't do it.

Ichoumaz reacted to Windows7ge in Bios Updates
As Deli has explained to update your BIOS it does not work like that. You may update your BIOS to increase hardware compatibility. This does not mean you have to use older hardware to allow the system to update at all. That wouldn't make any sense.
