Planning my first ever build so I'd like some second opinions before I launch into purchasing. Seems Ryzen is the way to go and hoping not to have a huge box so going mATX. And yes, I realise people don't like optical drives, but i'm putting one in anyway.

1. Budget & Location
Around £700 (UK) which currently does not include a monitor so it will need to be higher. I'd consider paying a bit more overall if it was really worth it.
2. Aim
I'm looking to replace a MacBook Pro which currently does everything from music production to video editing, virtualisation and (limited...) gaming.
Not entirely sure I would be overclocking straight out of the box (other than XMP) but likely to consider that in the future.
Priorities:
1. Music production workstation (DAWs and engraving software)
2. Gaming (I haven't really wanted to play major titles or shooters but then again I've never had a machine capable of it... yeah...)
3. Video editing (minor usage at present)
3. Monitors
Currently thinking single monitor at 1080p. 60hz or higher would be ideal but not too fussed. Could integrate a second pivot monitor for workstation use in the future.
4. Peripherals
Yes, will need a monitor (as above).
Will be purchasing aWindows key.
5. Why are you upgrading?
Current MacBook Pro is showing signs of imminent hardware failure. Other technology changes and software compatibility issues mean I am no longer tied to the Apple ecosphere and would like the challenge of building a PC for sentimental reasons.
