  1. Hey this worked exactly thank you so much. I didn't notice any of the storage controller stuff so thank you for pointing it out!
  2. So I've been trying to update Windows 10 to update 1903 on my Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 and I've hit a brick wall. I noticed when the failure when trying to update through windows itself and it would give the error, "AMD Ryzen or AMD Ryzen Threadripper configured in sata or nvme raid mode. A driver is installed that causes stability problems on Windows. This driver will be disabled. Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows." The click for information only gets me to a windows support page that lets me look at AMD drivers but this system uses a Core 17 8th gen. Despite that it says the driver will be disabled my only option is to hit refresh and back is grayed out. I bought this laptop back in March and have had no update issues until now. I tried to contact microsoft support and they tried to have me force the update with the windows media creation tool. I could force it to start the reboot process after going back and starting the reboot and deleting apps (of which there aren't many and all my personal files are on backup) however, when it begins to boot I am just sitting at the boot logo with the good ol' spinning dots that never end. There is no progress percentage and it will sit at the same screen for hours (I waited for about 2 hours last night and there were 0 changes and it sat on boot the whole time). However if I tried to run the forced update and keep both personal files and apps, I get the same failure message that I did when just updating through the settings window. The SSD is an NVMe drive by SK that just came with the system and I am not particularly strong when it comes to knowing what drivers should work with what, but I have not been able to see this issue anywhere. The driver listed in device manager is labeled "AMD-RAID BC501 NVMe SK hy SCSI Disk Device." I tried to reset the device and kept the personal files, but the problem seems to persist and am unable to finish windows updates. Any help or knowledge is appreciated, as support wasn't terribly helpful.
