  1. I think Soltr was on the right path and maybe your PSU isn't up to snuff? https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidias-rtx-3000-power-supply-requirements-PSU-shortage-2020 According to that site you need a 650w PSU with Ryzen 5 + 3070 so you're at the recommended specs but something to consider. Also maybe any GPU Software may be causing crashes? I was using the GPU Tweak II with my ASUS Tuf 3080 and when the software crashed it would randomly disconnected my GPU and once it forced a reset. My PSU is an 850w so didn't think it was that, disabled the software from running and been stable since.
  2. So I've been looking into this and I wonder if there's an ambient temp sensor that's preventing it from going 0db? Default fan curve and just web browsing/watching a video - has my GPU at 53% fan speed and 38c When I forced the fan to 0% - the GPU went up to 62c and held there. So maybe there's a sensor where it senses the temp inside the case will be too high for it to go to 0db - just my thoughts. Updated bios and everything.
  3. Hi Everyone, I had a question regarding if I should go full specs for a 2nd monitor or just get something with enough specs to save money. Monitor #1 (Main Gaming Monitor): Acer XF270HU, 1440p, 144hz, Freesync, TN Monitor (I do use the Freesync on it) Monitor #2 (Looking to upgrade, use it for watching videos, web browsing, discord, etc): BenQ GL2760H, 1080p, 60hz, TN Monitor Looking to upgrade Monitor #2 but should I aim for the same bells and whistles like Monitor #1 or would a 1440p, 60hz monitor do just fine if I'll be using it for video playback, watching videos/movies, web browsing Edit: Guess I should note I'm looking to upgrade the 27'' 1080p to a 27'' 1440p so I would have 2 1440p monitors in my setup. And if it matters... CPU: i7-9700KF GPU: RTX 2060 6GB Any tips/recommendations would be appreciated
  4. I appreciate all the advice. Looks like I was on the right train of thought with the R7 2700X - so will probably add that to my cart and I'll look into the ASrock B450 Steel Legends (has optical audio which is something I want for my setup. Really appreciate the advice. I'll add it to my short list and will be making my purchases soon
  5. Aye - a lot of feedback I've gotten about my processor is, it's good, but since it's not a K and only 4 cores, it could be worth an upgrade. This is the left over of a pre-built I bought about 2 years ago. Which is why I was eyeing Ryzen 2nd gen 2700X
  6. Ah! See these are the kind of things I am not an expert in and might be worth looking into. I Frankenstein this build from a pre-built and gifts. Okay, might revise the 2070 Super conversation since I wasn't considering upgrading the GPU since the 2060 was getting the job done just fine imo. CPU upgrade was mainly to get into the 8 core world to help with Editing and Streaming.
  7. Hi everyone Wanted to get some suggestions on the idea I wanted to go with upgrading my current PC Current Specs: Processor: i7-7700 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo MOBO: ASROCK Z270 Extreme 4 Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Storage: 1TB HDD / 500GB SSD / 120GB SSD (OS) Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6GB Gaming Z Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Semi-Modular OS: Windows 10 Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass ATX Full Tower Current Wishlist: These are the items I'm eyeing within my budget that I am considering as upgrades for my rig. CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X - about $180 currently. 8 cores, 16 threads. I think this would be a solid upgrade for my system over the i7-7700 for the core count and threads. Cooler: Corsair H115i Pro - About $135, hoping this will work well with keeping my Processor cooled since I plan to overclock it. Definitely open to suggestions to more affordable or better AIOs MOBO: ??? - This where I would want more help with deciding a MOBO - Most MOBO support 3 SATA devices, which is what I currently have, but would love suggestions! Looking for one with optical audio port for my sound bar. Like the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon 1. Budget & Location Trying to keep my upgrade of trio items to around 400-500 bucks USD in NA 2. Aim 1440p gaming! I also like to stream my games and record what I play. Some light editing work too. 3. Monitors Current (One) 27'' 1440p Monitor 144hz Freesync and (One) 27'' 1080p Monitor 60hz. In the future I would plan to upgrade the 1080p to another 1440p 144hz freesync/gsync monitor. 4. Peripherals No peripherals needed 5. Why are you upgrading? Upgrading to get more out of my system. CPU is not overclockable, CPU Cooler is big and ugly and not aesthetically pleasing for me. Mobo has to work with CPU ofc.
  8. Hi There - Running into an interesting situation with my RAM and CPU CPU: i7-7700 Motherboard: ASrock Z270 Extreme 4 BIOS Version 2.70 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3000 MHz DDR4 DRAM Desktop Gaming Memory Kit 16GB (8GBx2) CL15 BLS2K8G4D30AESBK Windows 10 (64 bit Home) GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GAMING Z Video Card PSU: EVGA 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Here's the issue I'm running into: When I run my RAM at 3000MHz, my CPU runs at 3.5Ghz (XMP Profile 1) When I do Auto Profile it selects 2400MHz as my RAM speed and my CPU runs at 4.0Ghz. Is this common or do I have an issue with my RAM? RAM are in the 2/4 slot for dual channel.

    My First Build!

Nope! CPU cooler fan is blowing away from the Heatsink, straight into the rear exhaust fan. The Angle and IO Covering makes the perspective look weird.

    My First Build!

Learning curve! ? I'll keep that in mind when I decide to start upgrading my build again but think this will last me a good amount of time

    My First Build!

No sale so got it for $159. During Black Friday Weekend - i was looking for any deals but since I have a 7th gen processor I didn't see many deals. All the mobos i ran into were for 8th and 9th gen chips.
  12. Hi everyone, Not 100% complete, waiting on some RGB light strips to come in to get those extra FPS and it can use a bit better cable management. But I was excited to show off my first time building. I've been watching a lot of LTT videos and other YouTubers on tips on how to build. So to give some context where I started. I originally bought a refurbished HP-Omen 870-217 - Then I slowly started to upgrade that pre-built only to realize... it's a pain, as the case was small, Mobo was small, made it hard to fit a RTX 2060 comfortable, couldn't cable manage how I wanted to, PSU was terrible. So I took that whole kit and basically rebuilt and only kept 3 items i7-7700 Processor 120GB SSD with the OS 1TB HDD Was really fun to put together my first pc! ? Still troubleshooting some issues but she's purring. Everything else are pieces I've picked up and swapped PCPP List for reference at bottom (please note the Storage is not accurate): Before Image: After Image: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i7-7700 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor $304.99 @ SuperBiiz CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $34.89 @ Amazon Motherboard ASRock Z270 Extreme4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $159.99 @ Amazon Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $71.98 @ Amazon Storage SanDisk Z400s 128 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $93.06 @ Amazon Storage HP S700 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive $89.99 @ Newegg Storage Hitachi Travelstar 1 TB 2.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $81.19 @ Amazon Video Card MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GAMING Z Video Card $369.99 @ Newegg Case Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass ATX Full Tower Case $109.99 @ Newegg Power Supply EVGA 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $127.98 @ SuperBiiz Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit $109.99 @ Newegg Monitor BenQ GL2760H 27.0" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor $149.00 @ B&H Monitor Acer XF270HU 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor $491.00 @ Amazon Keyboard Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 Wired Gaming Keyboard $189.60 @ Amazon Mouse Razer Naga Trinity Wired Optical Mouse $69.98 @ Amazon Headphones SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset $178.99 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $2652.61 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $2632.61 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-12-07 11:00 EST-0500
  13. Good call on top filter exhaust Okay! Thank you for the advice ?
  14. Hi there had a question about airflow and CFM loss with dust filters. Using a Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass PH-ES614PTG_BK case and my goal is to achieve neutral pressure (I feel this is the best for cooling based off research) With 2x 140mm Fans in the front for intake and with dust filters and for Exhaust: 1x 140mm fan in rear (default) 1x 140mm fan on top with dust filter Would the CFM be about even or will it be uneven due to the dust filters? Thanks in advance! Going to be putting it together this weekend.
  15. Main reason is I've been swapping components out, at this point I've swapped almost all components. The motherboard that came with the HP Omen 870-219 is uATX and it's really tiny. With my RTX 2060 plugged in, the card is so big it's almost pushing down on the white knob that's keeping the RAM locked in. So bigger case, bigger motherboard, better cable management/airflow etc etc Everything should work, since I put in all the parts in PCPP and said no compatibility issues but I'll make sure to backup everything appropriately!!! ?
