  1. Thanks for all the feedback, I have been talking with a server tech of very known US brand that i happen to know. His feedback was nonsens, almost all CPU's have stainless steel head spreaders, so only one thing to do. Take a drill and see what is in there, and you ........ all ware right it is copper with some plating ( probably nickel ). Watch the video Heat Spreader.mp4
  2. CPU delidding is something we do already some time, we change the cooling paste for something beter than Intel puts standard inside there CPU's. But we always use the head spreader that was on the CPU in the first case. But when we look at the heat coefficient of copper vs stainless steel then we see a big difference. Copper 390 W / ( m.K ) Stainless Steel 16 - 27 W / ( m.K ) i would be very curious to see what impact a copper head spreader has in reality.
