    Honestly at this point the only thing that keeps me from thinking its sarcastic and just pointing fun at build guides is the fact they called people who disliked it and hated on it racist.

    I'd personally take any Linux OS (but preferably Ubuntu) over Windows but for ease-of-use in terms of downloading games I stay with windows.

    Mr. Budget reacted to mikeyw64 in My PiHole setup (DHCP,DNS,DOH & DNS intercept)
    came across pihole after watching one of LTTs videos a while back and thought I would share my setup.

    I'm using it for DNS & DHCP to my main home network (birdsnest) plus as a guest wifi and then also thrown into the mix DNS traffic capturing on port 53.

    For upstream DNS I'm using the optional DOH setup using Cloudflared.

    DHCP is disabled on my ISP facing router and also its internal DNS is pointed back at PiHole

    Overview of my home network

    Post standard PiHole setup :

    Guest Wifi Config

    /etc/dhcpcd.conf (added the following)
    interface wlan0
    static ip_address=10.0.0.1/24
    static routers=192.168.1.1
    static domain_name_servers=127.0.0.1
    nohook wpa_supplicant

    /etc/dnsmasq.d/09-guestnet.conf  (new file)
    interface=wlan0
    dhcp-range=wlan0,10.0.0.100,10.0.0.200,4h
    dhcp-option=wlan0,option:router,10.0.0.1
    dhcp-option=wlan0,option:
    dns-server,10.0.0.1

    /etc/sysctl.conf
    net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

    Shell
    sudo apt-get install iptables-persistent  (if not already installed, will do an initial save)
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure iptables-persistent (if already installed)
    sudo iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE

    Hostapd stuff (for getting the wifi element up on my Raspberry Pi3B+)
    sudo apt-get -y install hostapd

    /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
    interface=wlan0

    nb I'm using 2 ethernet (built in plus USB dongle)   as my mind works better with that  however it can probably be done with just one

    Shell
    sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth1 ! -s 192.168.1.2 -p tcp --dport 53 -j DNAT --to 192.168.1.1:53
    sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth1 ! -s 192.168.1.2 -p udp --dport 53 -j DNAT --to 192.168.1.1:53
    sudo apt-get install iptables-persistent  (if not already installed, will do an initial save)
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure iptables-persistent (if already installed)

    Top half below is the test results for a blacklisted URL done  from my laptop configured statically as:
    Static IP : 192.168.1.10
    DNS : 192.168.1.2
    DGW : 192.168.1.1

    In the lower half the DGW was changed to 192.168.1.254 which is eth1 on the Pi, as you can see DNS requests to 8.8.8.8 now give the same response as going directly to the PiHole

    Alternatively if you wanted to just mess with everyone and keep it running forever, skip the Pepsi and use caramel color and distilled water.

    Then get a glass Pepsi bottle, and a diamond hole saw and make a reservoir by epoxying fittings onto it. Bonus points for repainting the case blue.

    As I said, microwaves are acceptable for reheating already properly cooked food.

    One would not construct a Lasagna, and then cook it in a microwave first, as opposed to an oven.

    Microwaved hot dogs are for reheating cooked hot dogs. Boiling hot dogs is worse than eating dirt. Grilled hot dogs are the G.O.A.T.S.

    Mr. Budget reacted to Trik'Stari in Let's settle this once and for all! Is a hot dog a sandwich?
    I'll admit, I'm not above pan searing a hot dog and slicing it and eating it with ketchup, if I have no buns.

    Not preferred, but not terrible.

    My overall goal in this thread is to make people understand that boiled hot dogs are not acceptable. It's fucking disgusting. It's akin to making bagel bites or pizza rolls in the microwave instead of the oven. (or toaster oven)

    Also, microwaved hot dogs are not acceptable either. The microwave is useful for three things, reheating already (properly) cooked food, boiling water quickly, or popcorn in a bag.

    Nothing else.

    I've personally had an update I could never go thru recently. Update required a restart and if I didn't update my version of Windows would lose support within 2 months. Obviously I try the update and after the restart it was stuck on a black screen. I had to shut down and turn it back on to save it, took like 5 minutes to boot then finally worked again, however lost the update. I'd rather lose support than lose my device in general at this point.
    Note: Happened a month ago.

    I have one of these and it works great with minimal modification in aaddition to being extremely cheap...

    The only change I have made to mine is cutting out the metal grille behind the front panel and in front of the fan.
    Oh, and I removed the metal plate that has the extra SSD mounts on it (a few screws are all that holds it in), this allows pretty much any GPU to fit.

    Its the same as any other system.  Just buy the standard speed/timing memory.  For i7-2000 series, that will be DDR3 1333.

    For the GPU, if you get an "ITX" sized card (no longer than the motherboard is wide), you dont have to change anything internally.   At worst, you will have to get 90 degree SATA cables.
