  1. How long ago was he getting 250fps, as that would seem high on that monitor, but there have be substantial drops in the past two season, and going from WZ1 to WZ2. There are a few guides on YT for changing some settings in windows on Windows 11, under device security (may be fixed now). File under call of duty where you can change counters, and some settings lower than you can in the game. YouTube seems to be the place for "optimisation" guides, and I saw someone's put up a link to FoVeS on twitter who a few streamers use privately.
  2. I hate warzone for chasing FPS, but the typical answer seems to be you are CPU bound. The recent seasons have seen a decrease in FPS, and it appears to do with a wider amount of detail being taken into context, than use to. Not sure if it is to do with the anto-cheat, as it gets better as the number drops. Do you have MW2 so you can use the benchmark as a standard way of measuring what your changes do, and will also give you an idea of GPU v CPU utilisation, or turn on the telemetry at the top of the screen to see timings. Hopefully someone has the solution that works for Nvidia and AMD cards.
  3. Select private match, it is in there.
  4. At this moment in time, I have no plans to go to 4k, and do not like UW.
  5. My target is over 200fps, as that was what I was getting at the start of warzone 2, but then there was a massive FPS drop about about 2 season ago, which affected a lot of PC players. I can pop out the sabrent drive and give it a go. I am guessing there is not a huge benefit to a "stripped" down windows 10 build with only the basic of apps/features installed as default?
  6. Warzone just keeps dropping frames from season to season. What do you mean with regards to the dual booting? One drive with an optimised OS version for gaming, then another drive with a day to day OS. I wouldn't of thought these would interfere with each other. Thanks
  7. Thank you all for the replies. I will do some more looking into squeezing more out of my current setup.
  8. Hi, I have just purchased a 7900XTX which arrives tomorrow. I mainly play call of duty warzone and with the recent dips in FPS, have purchased RX 7900 XTX TUF gaming. Would it also be worth upgrading the CPU to 5800x3d to get some more frames, or even a no frills 7800x3d (guessing I would need a new mobo, ram, cooler), but not sure what this would cost as the UK is pretty expensive for parts. Play 1440p "competitive" settings, and trying to get back to over 200fps like I use to. The machine is also dual booted, but just runs a few VMs now and again for learning. Thanks.
  9. My current setup is way more than what I need, and I seem to be having constant headaches with it. So, what would be the best option to go to, preferably wireless. I have had astro a50s in the past when I had PS3, and was also looking at steelseries pro, but would like a proper opinion. These would mainly be used for playing warzone/call of duty, then watching the odd YouTube video, and maybe also use for work calls. It was all working for ages, then I think a software update wiped the GoXlr profile, my mic started having a kind of a concert hall echo/whoosh after all noises (speech, keyboard, moving something). Followed both Senpai Gaming setup (think is was how I originally set it up a few years ago), and the tc helicon one, so it is now a lot better. Now I am hearing myself when playing warzone, and it is annoying as. I speak, then two seconds later I can hear myself being repeated through my headset, happened with two completely set of people (will do more testing in a party with my son's pc). I won't stream, only record for a laugh using OBS, use barely any of the GoXlr features, and it all takes up a lot of real estate when also including the low boom arm. Would it be dramatic downgrade in audio? Thanks, and sorry for the rant Jim
  10. Hey, Not sure whether to post here, or in pc gaming. When talking, a couple of seconds after I say something, I can hear myself through my headphones, loud and clear, but only once. I thought it was just one person I played with, but he wasn't in the party last night, and it still happened. Warzone 2 AT2020 Beyerdynamic dr990 pro GoXlr This all worked fine when playing warzone, with the same equipment. I did lose my GoXlr settings, as I could hear whoosh kind of noise after any mic input, so I setup that again to minimise that noise, but this repeat is clear, and only once. I have routing so it doesn't come through my headphones. What can I test myself to see if it is my end, a gamething (they have introduced thresholds in the game), or a cross play playstation thing? If I do a solos and speak, and I can't, does it clear me, or maybe a solos and record with OBS? Thanks
  11. Hi, I have two Logitech G533 headsets both with the same issue of the mic not working, tried multiple computers, with and without ghub. Sound is fine, connects fine to wireless receiver. The only time I can get any movement from the bar in OBS is when I press the mute button on the headset. I can't seem to find a replacement mic for the headset, but it looks like Logitech don't sell a lot of spare parts. ANyone have the knowledge of what the black wire is beside the red and copper coloured one, as I can't see where it goes, possibly ground, and it is bare at one point? Trying to learn some basic stuff, so am happy to try and test if the wires are broken, led still works. thanks, jim
  12. Hi, I am looking to get a new drive to get rid of a mechanical disk, but also to move about how I store stuff. Main games I play are COD/Warzone, Forza 5, minecraft. I will probably start using this desktop for my learning with means using multiple vms (currently use XPS 13) After that, just dabbling video editing, and other pie in the sky stuff. Is it best to store OS on one drive, games on another, then vms and data on another? Curently I have Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 (just now main drive with OS, and some games) KINGSTON (960GB) SA400 S37 960 G (Games and Games captures) Hitachi 2TB Mechanical drive HDS5C3020ALA632 (files, random stuff, vm's, training videos) Ryzen 9 5900x MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Probably looking at a new 1tb drive, but from the videos I have seen (LTT and HW unboxed), it looks like gen 4 isnt worth it, possibly not even m2 over 2.5" ssd, but then dram less and such. Thanks for your help, Jim
  13. Hi, So after my BQ SP11 850w psu going after a year, i finally managed to get a rma refund, and find somewhere that had a decent psu at a good price (HX1000 @ £155). I have read that it is a good idea to run in multiple rail, but am also seeing reports that the rtx 3090 kind of on the limit for running in multiple rail, is this true, which should i run? Also, the cables that came with the psu are not the best looking. The mb cable seems pretty solid, but not that flexible, which i could live with, but the cpu ones arent the longest, and the pcie ones are weird, they seem to have an extension on them, so a 6+2, then hanging off that, another 6+2. With my GPU having 3 connectors, i have 3 of these cables just dangling. It works, which is better than it has for the past 10 days, but it looks awful. What cables are of decent quality, without costing an arm and a leg? AX1000, ryzen 3700x, rtx3090 msi gaming trio x oc, tomahawk x570 Thanks, and let ne know if any other info will help. jim
  14. Luckily, the supplier has sent me a prepaid RMA stamp to send it back to them, they will test, and replace if found faulty. The only worry is they don't have this PSU in stock, and then it would be a refund. Worry is, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of higher tier PSUs in stock just now, plus it looks like I got this on a deal as I had time in my hand (£125). Suppose, still better than having to pay £20 to send to Germany, and possibly be without anything for 4 weeks.
