  1. aight i connected the cable then connected the gpu on top of it, didnt clip it as much as i expected tbh, its quite comfortable in there
  2. i tried routing the cable from behind but sadly it doesnt reach, as for the power supply yeah i guess, bought this pc about 4 years back pre owned and it had this power supply a Coolmax 600w, looks scuffed but cant change it yet. what i meant between gpu and motherboard was this place in particular
  3. Just received my new gpu and went to connect it but found out my 8 pin EPS12v cable from power supply is too short to reach it's port, how reasonable is it to try and squeeze the cable inbetween the gpu and the motherboard when the gpu is connected? it sounds dumb even to me but i mean hey if it works. Sadly tried finding a cable anywhere but only options were amazon and that would get delivered on monday.
  4. Thing is i had problems yesterday with using my old windows on new mobo that only really got solved when changing settings under the advice of another forum member, i'm afraid that resetting is gonna fuck shit over again
  5. So I got a new Mobo/CPU yesterday and set it up and used ASUS's AI overclocker and it was working perfectly, on start up under the Asus logo it would say Overclock 37%, ran for whole of yesterday and today without a problem. Turned the PC on a few mins ago and it said Overclock 40% and bsods one or two minutes into using the PC. I have no idea about overclocker in general and couldn't find out how to limit the AI to 37% so I went back into bios to disable the AI overclocker but its still saying 40% when booting, little help in general?
  6. Yeah I did, it said it found some corrupted files but fixed em automatically. Last question btw does AIDA 64's stress test end after a while or is it a start and stop it yourself type of stress test? Want to test CPU temps to try and see if cooling was installed correctly and left aida on and planning on sleeping
  7. You're right, ended up finding some corrupted files that couldnt be reapired so used the restorehealth now there shouldnt be any more corrupted files. Mate Honestly you're a life saver, thank you very much.
  8. honestly i pretty much know the 1060m wouldnt outperform the 970 that much but it's still an interesting concept if it somehow managed to work, Imagine a bright future where instead of buying op desktops to game when your laptops cant handle it, you get op laptops to bless the poor ol' desktops :^)
  9. Aight will do later, last question though. I've read about that using the same windows that was installed on an different cpu/motherboard on this new motherboard/cpu can cause it's performance to suffer a bit due to old drivers and what not? Is there such a thing or is it fine? or do you suggest doing a Fresh Start?
  10. BIOS sees 8gb and same model/type, you think i might have installed it incorrectly?
  11. im already logged in though or atleast i should be, i just finished installing the ASUS stuff and going to restart and check it again, I'd like to ask you though one of my RAM sticks isnt being detected by the PC and instead of 16gigs it's just 8 got any tips please?
  12. just right after i sent last msg i enabled something i think it was CSM and my windows booted, but even though im logged in was being told my windows isnt activated and when i tried to activate through claiming device change, even though it shows me my old pc/specs it still fails lul
