  1. You assumption would be correct. Returning the board. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post
  2. I've tried 5 different BIOS versions now across 3 different flash drives. All using the correct port, and I have read pretty much every similar thread I could find after long hours of searching. All seemed to flash correctly according to the user manual with no other components on the board. I'm officially out of ideas, so I'm just returning the board to amazon in favor of an X570... so much for saving a few bucks, was not worth the many hours sunk into this stupid thing lol. Thanks for your help everyone
  3. All drives have a partition scheme..... Usually either MBR or GPT. There is only one partition and it is in FAT32 format. A big issue with flashback that some people were running into with install was that their drive's partition scheme was GPT. It wouldn't work with this scheme even if the drive is formatted in FAT32.
  4. Fat 32 drive with MBR partition. The light flashes, flashes faster, and then turns off as it is suppose to. Both drives I've tried are 16gb. I followed the instructions exactly. I renamed the BIOS file MSI.ROM and put it on the root of the drive.
  5. Yeah, I may try to request the boot kit although I have heard they are somewhat reluctant to give them out if you have flashback ability with your board, although I might be incorrect. The most frustrating part about this is that all the communication I have with the PC is through blinking lights. I have built four systems in my life and this is the first time I have had troubles that didn't work after everything I could think of. A part of the process I suppose.
  6. May be my fault for not saying that in the original post, but always great to have people like that coming in when you're in the middle of an extremely frustrating situation and adding to it by speaking to you as if you are mentally deficient, right?
  7. Uhhh, BIOS flashback button??? you don't need a CPU to flash the bios for the B450 A-PRO. Just the 8 pin and 4 pin PSU connectors and a USB stick. See?
  8. I downloaded BIOS from the MSI website to make the board compatible, is this not enough?
  9. Hello, I am trying to build a new system with a MSI B450 A-PRO board, a ryzen 5 3600, a new 600w PSU, and some new RAM. I am reusing a GTX 970 from another machine. I have tried flashing the bios multiple times so it would be compatible with the CPU, but the PC will still not boot. I have tried clearing CMOS, I have tested the PSU with the power supply trick, tried different USB sticks and BIOS versions, tried one stick of RAM at a time on different slots, all to no avail. All i get upon startup is spinning fans both on the CPU and GPU, but the EZ-debug light just stays solid on CPU, indicating there is an error with it. Please, if anyone has any idea about what to do, because I am totally out of ideas. I have posted this on about fie forums at this point. When I remove the RAM totally, the CPU EZ debug light goes off and changes to DRAM, so could it be the RAM? the model # for the RAM is CMK16GX4M2B3200C16
