  1. Fir those curious, I found this thread on the LTT forums to be informative.
  2. Miracles are real, and I am a changed man. After some research and deep breathing, I decided to reformat the USB again, slap the old BIOS on it, and try to do a powered down Q Flash using the button on the MOBO. Pressed the button once, no led blinking or anything, confusion. After waiting a minute or two, I flip the PSU off and on and try again. Nothing. Moving on I decide to try to do it with the system on, so I power up and begin moving around to the back of the PC when something catches my eye. The Aorus logo displayed on my monitor. I make a dash for the Delete key as urine begins trickling down my trousers. Suddenly the screen goes black again, and life is meaningless, but a moment later up comes the splash screen again and I make it to UEFI. Huzzah! Curious, I looked to see if the power off flash worked and I restored the BIOS to the original F3 version. Much to my astonishment it reports that it is running version F5b, the newest one. I have no Effing clue what the Hell happened, and I don't care because everything seems to be running fine. Miracles happen, maybe I'll start going to church or praying over my Jesus PC every night. Thus, I hereby name this computer Lazarus, and vow never again to insite the demons that lay in wait for the unwary lambs who take a fancy for updating their Motherboards BIOS. Amen.
  3. Please help. I just built a brand new PC, everything was successful down to installing windows and updating drivers, etc. I then decided to update the BIOS on my Aorus X570 Elite MOBO via a USB drive (also windows install media drive) and the UEFI Q-Flash feature. Everything went fine with the install up to 100% and reboot countdown, no power off or touching of anything. System rebooted to nothing but a black computer screen and constantly ramping CPU fan. I tried plugging my HDMI cable into the MOBO instead of GPU but no picture. I also pressed the restart and power button to no effect. Finally I held the power button down and shut off the system. My system specs are on this pcpartpicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lt_Skunky_Jr/saved/kxzwhM Monitor is an HP Pavilion 23bw I have not yet powered the system back on. EDIT: I turned the system back on, nothing seems to have changed.
  4. Did you add any more case fans with the stock ones? I plan to run stock CPU and GPU cooling.
  5. With regards to the Meshify C, how are its defenses against projectile cat urine? Having two well trained cats, I can't help but imagine the possibilities with a mesh front case. With the processor, my maximum workload would be Microsoft word and maybe a music program later down the line. Would dropping down to the Ryzen 3600x not cost me too many frames on a 1440p 144hz monitor? I had also been advised to overshoot your power needs by a fair bit with the PSU. Would a 650w one not be to close to my consumption?
  6. Hello, This will be my first build since my dad built me a computer in 2001 (complete with candy apple automotive paint). I think I have the components picked out to final spec, but I cannot decide on a case. $150 is probably the max I would be willing to spend, as I almost decided on a Fractal Define R6 if research hadn't indicated that thermals might be too poor. Less money spent is always preferable, though. I also don't care about RGB or glass panels. My goal is to be able to play most games at higher fps in 1440p Ultra Settings. I do not plan to do any overclocking for now, so liquid cooling etc. is not on my plate. The specs are as follows: Input Welcome CPU: Ryzen 3700x (would 3600x be too under powered?) GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER XC ULTRA (08G-P4-3183-KR) MoBo: ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCELPX16GB (2x 8GB) SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB Solid State Drive (MZ-76Q1T0) PSU: CORSAIR RMX Series, RM750x, 750 Watt, 80+ Gold Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz 27" WQHD (2560x1440) NVIDIA G-SYNC IPS
