Eventually it could, but its hard to say and depends a lot on game developers. Again, just save your money until you are in the position to be able to upgrade your platform. 

You would be more wise to save the money and upgrade your platform. A 1070 would be bottlenecked with that i5, I use to have that combination so I have experience with it first hand.
