  1. So, I have a MSI x370 Gaming Pro Carbon that I use for an Unraid server. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 I have been using in the rig with a single 8 GB and decided with a VM, it was time to go to 16. So I bought a compatible kit and my total was only 8GB even though both sticks were detected. So I pulled the kit out since it was new and put in another kit from another rig and got the same result. I was able to get both sticks to work if I put them both into channel A (single channel) instead of dual channel. I take the Ryzen 1600 and all the ram (new and old) and test in another system and I have dual channel no problem. So you think its the motherboard right? Well....... Then I put a Ryzen 5 2600 into the suspected bad mobo and of course, the ram works perfectly (dual channel), I have my VM using half of it and it hasn't blown up yet..... SO the question is; is this motherboard actually ok to use and this is just bad luck with the combination of a Ryzen 1600 and this particular mobo? Note: I've tried every single bios on MSI's site and it doesn't seem to matter. If you look at their compatibility matrix on their site, the Ryzen 2000 series had way more options than the Ryzen 1000 series does with this mobo. So I'm thinking this is good to go, but I could use some opinions or personal experiences. I have seen others with this issue, but the threads I found never came up with an answer, or at least didn't post it online.
