by your description sounds to me like ur gpu might on its last legs, the threads? maybe isnt the correct term they seem to done for, since like you said after the reboot when the gpu has gotten warm it starts to send signal, also ur PSU seems to be from an unknown brand and 450 w with a 6600k seems optimistic, i hope for your own benefit that its a weak psu and gpu cant get enough juice to function properly otherwise the gpu swap is gonna get expensive, if i were in your place id try a different psu(like 600w corsair) or sth...   i may be mistaken, good luck

need to install most drivers, but bios should be ok unless u flashed it, driver can be found on the manufacturers homesite if you want the most recent ones.

The super, definitely not the regular 1660. The super has more memory bandwidth which improves performance a lot.

Then I'd say the 1660 super is a really good choice for you. Usually the 1660 is not much cheaper, so if you want to save money, go for a 1650 super/RX 580/RX 5500 XT

Since you have that laptop keep also in mind that you need a much better build in order to have meaningful extra game performance to warrant the budget

If you buy something like a GTX 1050ti or even a GTX 1650 it would not be worth it (accounting for the total cost of the parts in order to run those cards without bottlenecks) because the experience would be similar to your current laptop's in terms of performance in games.

You need to build a RX 5700 xt kind of rig in order to see a meaningful performance boost which will end up costing you (with frugal choices) about 850$ for the entire tower.

Just use an adapter from your 1650 to VGA.

you could add some feet to the case, so you can raise it and drill holes in the bottom that would not ruin the look imo

Pic quality is not great but the cables seem to be same colored so just  solder matching lines and it should work, if you arent sure just take them to an random IT shot, they will solder them for you and they should be working fine againg.

as for ur first build its a very good job, if you´d do it like that in your 10th build then it would be just ok around 6/10 in general but for first time id say its a solid 8/10

    Hello

i have an laptop running an intel i5-5200u and lately ive been facing an strange problem, which im not sure wheter its an early sign of the cpu death or some other bs error... basically what happens is that out of nowhere the cpu clock gets stuck to some superlow freq such as 0.38, or 0.78 ghz and just wont move up from there, can happen during gaming, or just watching netflix, so id eliminate overheating issue, can go days without issues but then out of the blue cpu stuck again in low freq, after restart usually is okay again.
    spec:
    i5-5200u
nvidia 920m 2gb/ intel hd 5000? maybe? (yea its running dual gpu-s)
    12 gb ram
    248 gb ssd

Taran uses the hotkey buttons on his devices to do complicated macros (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Tab+Some F key, combinations you wouldn't press on your own) to trigger an AutoHotKey script, which does the actual macro. This makes it so it doesn't matter what manufacturer you get the mouse/keyboard from.
AutoHotKey is a program kind of meant for the sort of purpose you mention, automate certain features. It has become kind of a programming language on its own, where you can automate kind of simple, or quite difficult key combinations.

id say its a good idea to invest in a decent corsair or chieftech psu, psu is not something you want to cheap out on.... since it is essentially the life source for your system... and if it is garbage and docent give out a decent and stable power output u are just gonna kill ur system slowly and steadily...
