  1. Dear helpers, Since the video of linus with the upgrade to a 120hz screen on a laptop i have been non stop searching to make this happen to my own laptop. I have run into some problems i cant figure out myself. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GP72VR-6RF-Leopard-Pro/Specification <- See link for my specific laptop. As you see at the screen options 120hz is a thing. When i bought this laptop i didnt see this as an option in the shop. After being superhappy with my laptop for over 2 years that still runs all the games on 60+ frames i feel its time to give it an upgrade. Finding a screen for this specific laptop only gives me options to 60hz with a 30-pin connector. All the 120hz screens seem to have a 40-pin connector. (Still leopard pro parts but not my specific one.) How is it possible that its a factory option but will not fit with aftermarket parts? Im really scared that i will order the 120hz one and be stuck with a screen that will not fit. Dear linus geniuses help me out edit - So far i found my original panel / CMN N173HGE-E11 But i cant find if my motherboard has a 30 pin edp or a 40 in edp. And if i need a different cable to fit it in my laptop.
