Zenomat's Achievements

  1. At least 2 full size PCIe slots, ideally also a short PCIe slot. Wifi not needed. Reasonable IO, at least 2 usb 2.0, at ideally 4 usb 3 (tho that is interchangeable). NVME M.2 slot. We found the ASROCK B650M-HDV motherboard, which looks reasonable, tho it only has 2 memory slots.
  2. I totally agree with you, but it was actually the cheapest we found on amazon de. But if you have a recommendation for a board we could look at, we would be grateful. Otherwise we will go on the hunt again ourselves
  3. Budget (including currency): 650 Euro Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Casual gaming, sometimes a bit more demanding titles. Monitors 2 Monitors, 1080p 144Hz (main screen, second one is a bit trash), no desire to upgrade to more or better screens in the foreseeable future Peripherals Nothing required Why are you upgrading? PC died randomly, BSOD's indicating hardware failure, insane coil whine Hey, my friend and I are looking to build a new PC for him, after his old one died. He plans to do some casual gaming, sometimes a bit more demanding titles (nothing too fancy or too high standards tho^^). He already owns an NVIDIA RTX 2060, which he would like to keep. We have been thinking of this build: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/GDLmkJ We just wanted to get a second opinion, as our PC building skills are a bit rusty. We went with an AM5 build, as we didn't want to buy into a dead socket and it would be less expensive to upgrade later. We are aware, that the SSD is not Gen4, he is willing to take that hit in order to save a few bucks. If we made any dumb assumptions or you have any other tips, we'd be happy to hear about it.
  4. My guess would be, that both Linux installs installed the grub boot loader to different locations. You can go in your BIOS settings and check if it detects multiple grub boot loaders, and then change the boot order, so that it prefers the grub install from Ubuntu.
