  1. @ImNotNeko @Jurrunio so far I got it stable at 3200 with 1.25V. It did boot to 3400 after some effort but it was randomly closing my programs. Maybe I reached my limit? The ram is actually rated for 3600mhz CL18-22-22-42, 1.35V. Not sure if I can go higher since I tried 3400 at 1.3V, not stable but made it to desktop, Increased it to 1.325 V in the next run, blue screens started to appear, also programs randomly closing itself EDIT - forgot to mention, cpu is 2700x, guessing the memory controller isn't as robust as 3000 series
  2. I mean u can kinda say that but I did manage to boot it earlier at 3600 not sure what's going on really lol so far 3200 is working Also how high can the voltage be on ram before I start to damage it?
  3. @Jurrunio not sure why but the system is constantly stuck in boot, as in whenever I change the frequency in bios, it proceeds to reboot. Then I hear the CPU cooler ramp up in speed, monitor shows nothing but a black screen (windows logo doesn't even appear) and it's just stuck in that state. It's not even responding when I hold down power on button, only way I managed to turn it back on is to turn of the power supply entirely.
  4. Recently bought 2 sticks of trident z neo 8GB ram, I heard that ram usually runs at stock 2133mhz, so I went into the bios and changed it to XMP to the listed 3600mhz . However, the bios' hardware monitoring section still shows 2133mhz. I remembered to hit save and apply before I went to check it. Am I doing it wrong?
  5. Small update, I ripped out the entire system and laid it out on a cardboard box for trouble shooting, still randomly restarting, guess I can say the case wasn't causing pc to short out
  6. @boggy77 sometimes it restarts as I login, sometimes I can manage like 2h of gaming on it before it does that, sometimes even just casually using chrome or discord can lead to a restart, seemingly random. In terms of temperature, I've yet to see CPU go over 60 C during gaming. So not sure what else is the cause here
  7. Could be but I format the boot drive already, I don't think there's anything that can clean it even further
  8. @boggy77 built the PC a month ago to replace my i5 6400 prebuilt, it was running fine without any issues until like last Friday when it started to randomly restart the PC.
  9. Posted in troubleshooting section but I couldn't manage to find any fixes for my PC randomly restarting itself (no blue screen or anything). Motherboard: Asrock B450 Steel Legend CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU cooler: stock cooler that came RAM: 8GB 2133 g. Skills (from old system) GPU: GTX 1060 6gb (from old system) Storage: Sandisk 240GB SSD boot drive and ADATA 960GB SSD PSU: Corsair Cx550m bronze rated Case: NZXT H500 Ok so far I've basically tested everything possible to try and pinpoint the cause with no avail. Tests I've done Updated GPU driver Ran a full system scan for possible malware Removed GPU and tested it in previous system Changed out the RAM stick with another one from older system Swapped out PSU with PSU from previous system Checked for loose front I/O cables or other cables that might cause system to short out Checked PC temperature in ryzen master Formated the boot drive and did a clean reinstall of windows 10 Updated windows But the PC still randomly manages to restart itself. Basically running out of options here on, not even sure what could be the cause of this at this point. Which I think the last thing I could possibly do is reseting the motherboard back to factory default settings but I'm not sure if that'll cause any problems. So my question is if anyone could possibly know a way to fix it, please help. Also if the worst case scenario happens and I have to try and reset a (ryzen 3000 ready sticker on the box) B450 motherboard back to factory default settings, will it still be ryzen 3000 series ready after the reset or will it just become the original B450 that only supports 1st and 2nd gen ryzen ? PS: in event log, it says something along the lines of The DistributedCOM Error 10016 not sure if that could be causing the issue here but thought I might as well include it. Thanks in advance for replies.
  10. Small update on this Checked if display drivers were up to date, found out that they were in fact up to date. Swapped in another 8GB of ram (the old system had 16GB so this was the other stick of ram), didn't fix the issue either Unplugged and replugged all the I/O to the system in case of those shorting the PC out, issue still persists Not sure what else i can do to fix it EDIT: also removed GPU and inserted it back to the older system to see if it was faulty, turns out it wasn't.
  11. Not sure about that because my H500 only has a power on button and no restart button. I could try to unplug and replug the front I/O back
  12. Built a new pc (ryzen 5 3600) like a month ago, been having a great time but my PC suddenly started to randomly restart itself without warning, no blue screen of death or any other indications before it decides to do that either. It also wasn't an isolated incident, it restarted back to back 2 times last night and once when I was typing out this post. I'm a bit freaked out by what's happening because it totally hasn't happened to me before. Also was planning to update bios to AGSA 1.0.0.4 but I don't want to risk bricking it midway through the update. Would be nice if anyone could help me narrow down the cause of this problem happening EDIT: forgot to include PC specs Motherboard: Asrock B450 Steel Legend CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU cooler: stock cooler that came RAM: 8GB 2133 g. Skills (from old system) GPU: GTX 1060 6gb (from old system) Storage: Sandisk 240GB SSD boot drive and ADATA 960GB SSD PSU: Corsair Cx550m bronze rated Case: NZXT H500
  13. Or U could pocket the change by getting ryzen 7 3700x, that money can go to a future GPU upgrade or even more storage if u need. Performance difference isn't TOO big from 3800x. also CSGO can get high FPS even on a potato CPU, not sure about the other 2 games u play though. Side note, did u not hear about new security vulnerability popping up on team blue?
  14. Guessing u plugged the HDMI cable into motherboard instead of the GPU
