  1. Hello, I swapped to X570 and this Aida64 Write bench seems a bit low. Any thoughts? Latency is decent @ 67ns. EVGA G2 850W PSU Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite F10 BIOS AMD 3800X @ 4.4GHz, FClock 1800MHz G.SKILL 3200MHz, CAS 14, Samsung B-Die @ 3600MHz 16-16-16-32 -- 48/24 Pistol

Very nice!!! Best I could do on my CH6 with my 3700x was 4.2 at 1.35. Only thing I would be worried about is running your ram at 1.45v 24/7 as it could cause problems with the IMC and mess you up with the fclock on the infinity fabric.

  3. Do not buy another 1660. Awful performance for the cost.
  4. 3700X ftw. At this point I might even wait for 4000 series *shrug* They've released a few spec details like unified cache for IPC gains.
  5. Did you reinstall motherboard chipset driver and GPU drivers? A good way to tell if proper drivers are missing is to inspect dev manager and look for yellow icons. Even if you don't see yellow icons, Windows does tend to install drivers for you. Some of their drivers arent very good.
  6. Please list PSU model. Did you install the nvidia display driver? Did you set CPU voltage manually in bios to 1.35V-1.4V? These chips tend to over volt to increase clock speeds and boost faster for longer, producing too much heat (even for my custom water loop) What CPU cooler?
  7. 3700X is typically less expensive, has more threads (typically shows better gaming results over time, take it from me, I bought the 2500k instead of the 2600k), supports PCI-E 4(although I'm sure it will improve farther) and draws significantly less power. Get a less expensive cooler (Scythe Mugen, or Ninja 5 if necessary). X570 boards cheap like ASUS TuF at $200. Non PCI-E 4.0 boards X370 or X470 can be had cheaper with more features. Unless you're gaming at 240FPS ( which requires 240 Hz monitor), or Adobe Premier editing I could not recommend the Intel chip.
  8. Ryzen 3rd gen tends to over volt. I highly recommend setting your CPU to 1.35-1.4v
  9. In 2019, an overclock is a dramatic system improvement for this CPU. I have a 2500K that I run at 4.4GHz. Scythe Mugen is the least expensive cooling option I would accept. Above this are Scythe products like the Ninja 5. These coolers are designed to be quiet with very slow RPM fans, but with better static pressure fans they perform just as well as Noctua or Dark Rock Pro. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/scythe-scmg-5100-mugen-5-rev.b-cpu-cooler-hs-046-sy.html Link to Scythe Mugen ^ I do not know if this is a good price where you are(seems overpriced to me as it's $40 in the US), but it's a start.
  10. Most people with these CPUs have 200W-250W TDP coolers also. This cooler simply won't keep it below the temps you have OLU.
  11. This simply will not be the same.Your heat sink will not be transferring as much heat. The IHS or integrated heat spreader introduces a significant thermal conductivity barrier. Please examine the link below. Your laptops do not have integrated heat spreaders. Your heat sink fan combo may also have a higher TDP rating which means it will not become heat soaked at the same rate as a laptop. Bottom line: The laptops and the ITX machine are completely different in terms of electrical input, wattage, heat output, cooling solution. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/integrated-heat-spreader-ihs-definition,5747.html
  12. single stick of RAM is a good attempt to be made. Please also try disconnecting peripherals that are not required. Such as speakers, Ethernet, Wireless LAN adapters, USB add in cards, etc.
